UA-camrs like you tend to call everything over powered these days and call for nerfs for no reason. So what if it's a powerful combo? It's a single-player game, no need for nerfs.
I get it, content creators need content to create - but let’s be honest, all you need to be OP in this game is the unforgivable curses and the talents that make regular spells curse enemies, then the talent that makes avada kedavra kill all cursed enemies
Agreed. If anything I'd love an update that does the opposite and makes the game more difficult. I'm doing hard difficulty for my first play through and during puzzle segments the game is constantly like "maybe I should move something to that wall" and whatnot. Really takes the fun out of "hard" difficult when given the solutions almost immediately.
@@thomasbalet2651 Being a wizard is not OP... It's a whole world with it's own rules for magic. Cursing all enemies and killing all of them with just one spell is already OP. We don't need anything more than that.
I don't watch my own character in combat, but can't we just acknowledge how cool the animations are? After dodging an attack, your character will throw a spell behind his back without looking like a badass.
You can use Flip to make a troll hit himself, you can transmog a animagus out of its beast form, you can turn enemies attacks against themselves. THIS GAME IS AMAZING! Also who knew the combat would be this in-depth? I see so many streamers and other UA-camrs play brain dead by using ONLY crucio and Avada while there nearly never using protego or talent traits.
I wouldnt say theyre brain dead. their just using what they like. Nothing wrong with that. The beauty if this game is the type of combos that one can preform can be pretty creative. But im.sure theres plenty of people are there who wanted to be evil and use unforgivables.
I actually agree with you. I love the game and streamers usually don’t understand anything, they just use as many spells as they can and sometimes they don’t even get to know how to block 😂.
That's because most of them were just trying to rush through the game to get the most views, watching Hollow's series ruined my first watch of a playthrough for this game
I just run the herbology build. Pull out mandrake, Arena size stun, 1k tic takes out everything but trolls (that's what cabbage is for) on the quest to 100% I'm at the point where I just want things dead as fast as possible. Nothing else I've found can beat a 90 sec arena time.
I made a ridiculous antipod build that made quick work of most endgame combats. Scorching 3 on all gear pieces (because that was the best trait I had unlocked). I designed the build because I was annoyed with trolls and executioners, and I blow either of them up in 1 combo. Set is Flippendo, Glacius, Incendio, Expelliarmus. Hit them with the special damage multiplier, get in close, freeze into burn, instant KO. The cooldowns are super short, so it works pretty well just randomly rolling around and burning everyone.
A lot of those combos are meant to work that way, it's considered skillful casting. Love the upgraded transformation spell, it's brutal and fun to throw explosive enemies at their "friends", been playing around with that a lot. Anyway, most enemies have special situations where they are open for instant kills with the right spell or combo.
I appreciate this game makes the player actually feel powerful. I appreciate any rpg where you start off squishy and weak and as you level up and gear up you can feel like a god towards the end of the game. That is what character progression means to me. I'm not a fan of always being at a disadvantage for an entire game. Takes the character progression feel out of the game to me.
I agree. It also takes the enjoyment out of it. I play a game to have fun and blow off steam, not get more pissed off and want to turn it off because they make an area more difficult than it should be.
I think it's perfect the way it is. Everyone isn't as good as everyone else. I think they should leave it like that for those who enjoy it and give use more aggressive enemies and add more enemy camps, more spiders, wolves etc to fill some empty spaces and more boss battles and hopefully a new story line or something like Spider-Mans: the city that never sleeps.
More Acromantulas would be awesome to see. Apparently in the lore of HL the Acromantulas we encounter were mothered by a special named one we also encounter in the game. The bio suggests they werent native compared to the other species, but the bio suggests the special one we kill was a mother to many others in the area. It would be cool to see younger varents and familes of Acromantulas in caves. Since their the more aggresive spider type in the game, and they kinda remind me of having Deathclaw encounters in Fallout.
6 unforgivable traits on hard will make your basic attacks on cursed enemies do 1.3k and will alow you to one shot or make other fun combos more viable
according to the curse spell talents text, i think this was intended to only work with AK, turning people into exploding barrels looks like a loophole in the intended effect of the curse. this will probably be patched.
Nope. You're confusing something here. It's not a loophole, the AK Mastery perk is what makes AK chain kill all cursed enemies, what he's using is another solo perk from the DA tree that works for all cursed enemies, making them all share a % of the damage you inflict on any cursed enemy. Since the explosive barrels do a ton of damage, the splash damage ends up being enough to kill all the cursed mobs. You can try using a mod that changes the amount of HP the mobs have and verify in fact that they're not getting instantly killed like AK does, but because the damage is too high for them to survive. Is it a very powerful trait? Yes, but only as powerful as you're smart at exploiting it. You can slot all your gear with the Ancient Magic Throw III rune and do the exact same thing without using the Transformation spell, just throw a rock or normal barrel, whatever object, at the mobs after doing the same thing, using the same perks, and you'll get the very same result, which means this is an intended exploit.
@@thetoyodacar2264 this, amazing how people just don't read the shit that the game explains very clearly then make stuff up lmao. The reason why the barrel seems to do the same as AK is because the DA talent he showed on video splashes damage, and the more damage you hit the target with, the more splash damage to all cursed enemies. As you said explosive barrel = big damage. If devs were to listen to these people then combos that throw enemies falling and stuff like that would also need to be nerfed because "hurr durr it's just like using AK".

Everyone talking about these spells like the consumables and plants aren't way more OP. I can literally wipe an entire wave with a single mandrake in my build.
Also with imperio curse if you use the curse and it’s the last enemy you can use petrificus totalus on them and do a lot of damage that’s what I did for trolls up until I gained avada kadavra Also use crucio spell debuff then use avada to kill all targets with curse mark
I would replace Expelliarumus with Confringo and add Confringo mastery. The damage from Confringo spreads like with Crucio mastery, adding even more damage to the damage spread while transformation is recharging. Also, when fighting inferius you NEED a fire spell. So, this is a complete build.
I just made "enemy categories" for all of my spell wheels. For inferi, Accio, Incendio, Descendo, and Arresto Momentum. Also works as a general crowd control set. For Goblins, Expelliarmus (coupled with AM throw), Glacius, Diffindo, and Bombarda. Dark Wizards get Transform, Flipendo, Crucio, and Diffindo/Bombarda. The other wheel is mostly for Lumos, Disillusionment, Reparo, etc.
HOW many times did you restart the game just to try out different builds. Yea I get the save before you use your talents, but eventually you will move past that save.
Hello as first I would like to thank you for this video. I will use it for sure! I just do not agree that this is in general stronger than Avada Kedavra. The AOE instakill combo with Dark build crucio/avada is still strongest because it is incredibly easy to land. I am mentioning this because I red tons of articles saying that this curse is not strong enought, but it really is. The weakness of it is huge cooldown on Avada itself, even with the focus potion applied. Thats where those alternative AOE instakill combos takes place.
Since you can have up to 4 spell combinations, I use this one and the Avada combo too. Use this combo: Set 1- Confringo, Avada Kedavra, Crucio, Bombarda. Set 2- Accio, Depulso, Transformation, Levioso. I use Set 2 not only in combat, but for puzzles. Set 1 I have the mastery traits for all 4 perks. Set 2 only have mastery for transformation so I can use the combo he mentions in the video. If you use the stupefy dark magic trait, you can curse enemies while Crucio, Avada, and Transformation are recharging. Effectively, you will always basically be able to insta kill no matter what is recharging. Happy hunting!
I use accio, diffendo, transformation, and bombarda combined with the ancient magic throw and all of my gear amplifies bombarda so I can one shot most enemies.
The one shot combo seems so good it's likely unintentional. Destroying the barrel is probably coded as doing lethal damage, so the shared portion is... still lethal damage. Will probably be patched out.
That's what I thought too. Its so awkward to see the cursed enemies just flop to the ground once you pick up the explosive barrel. Doesn't seem like it was intended at all.
Reminds me of binding of Isaac, half the fun on games with crazy synergies is finding these broken combos. To me that’s what makes it fun. I’m full sneak build so I have all my upgrades increasing damage done while sneaking. Mind control that curses all other targets then transform / killing curse, on top of that your cabbage bois. Ugh.. so good

Looking at how they die before animation is played i'm guessing the game considers the transformed enemy auto-dead the moment they get picked up by magic, and that auto death applies universally because i know trolls have more than 2k health. Edit: Also i knew that the hard difficulty nerfed the crap outta stupify (can't crack shields anymore) but i never realized it nerfed damage that much. makes me proud how much damage i've been cranking out lately.
Instead of nerfing anything the player can do (not talking about unintended gameplay), making the enemies harder in some way would solve the problem of the game being too easy, while not decreasing the fun or powerful feeling the player gets. I want to still feel powerful, but fight stronger foes. Maybe a DLC with new enemy types? If they took a Dark souls approach and added MANY enemy types, this game would almost never get old.
This. I hate how everyone is so fucking retarded these days. If you play the game o easy mode everything will be OP, even the fucking minigames will not take any effort to complete, does this mean easy mode is OP? The only thing the game needs is extra difficulty options so all the people crying that X or Y is too OP can just play it without feeling like nothing is difficult. There's even a mod that lets people adjust tons of things to make it harder/easier according to each one's tastes.
Something really broken is if you cast imperio on a troll and then cast invisibility you can continuously petrify them to death before they snap out of imperio
@@JH-fp1lw all of this is intended, including the nifty combo he's showed here. First it requires a specific perk from the DA tree that most people have probably seen and thought it was complete garbage, AK is still supreme because there are fights, especially boss fights that you can't just spam all these exploits, while AK is just a one-shot kill everytime.
The curse second hand enemise shouldnt die when you hurl the barrel... it should only occur, if at all, by hitting ANOTHER enemy who is connected cursewise to the others.
Yes they should, because the damage of the explosive barrel is so great that the splash damage from the curse chain perk causes them to die as well. That perk makes all cursed enemies share damage, and explosive barrels do huge damage. You can literally test the same thing, except just throw normal objects/rocks, in that case the other cursed enemies might not die instantly, but they'll be in very bad shape. However if you have the gear rune that increases Ancient Magic Throw damage on all 6 gear slots and do the exact same thing it will have the exact same effect as shown on this video without needing the Transformation spell, or an explosive barrel for the matter.
Here we go trying to nerf other things in a single player game once you discover it. Who would want to play in a very hard mode if they just started or don't play this way? I have a feeling they thought hard was hard enough maxed out builds and exploits aside 😄
They really lied so hard about the length of the game. They said the main story was a minimum 35 hours, it took 20 with me exploring and doing side quest.
The only thing I have to say just play the game and do your level grinding and focus on your spell casting and skills as well and play how you want to play plus don't forget about your Gold grinding and choose your gear and sell some out of all just enjoy the game peace
You probably interrupted their transformation with your own Transformation spell, I think the Animagus page actually says to do exactly that against them.
I've been playing on the hardest difficulty since day one taste by already get used to it just got rely on potions more if you just want to one shot every enemy and not make the game difficult plan story mode

Which robe are you wearing? It looks awesome. I just started downloading the game today. Gonna be a good weekend :)
Also with imperio curse if you use the curse and it’s the last enemy you can use petrificus totalus on them and do a lot of damage that’s what I did for trolls up until I gained avada kadavra
Also use crucio spell debuff then use avada to kill all targets with curse mark
I was confuse this morning when this troll got 1 shot when i pick up the explosive barrel came from transmog skill
Brah this combo really crazy! GG’s to the loyalists and Rookwoods lot !
Max attack and defense on gear I’ve seen so far is 114 with either 36 attack as secondary or 36 defense as secondary
Very nice video
It’s harder than I thought to hit enemies with barrels and other objects. A lot of times I throw it the opposite way or over to the side of them
Change the targeting system in Settings.
Takes a min to get used to, but absolutely makes combat feel smoother!
Ancient Throw will also snag bolts out of rangers xbows and throw it back at them before they shoot
HOW many times did you restart the game just to try out different builds. Yea I get the save before you use your talents, but eventually you will move past that save.
You want difficulty? No talent, no magical gear (no traits obviously), no potions, no roll... Just add your own restrictions.
I did this exactly like you did set up Same way Same traits same spells on my bar and it's still did not one shot anything
You can also use upgraded imperio to make the strongest opponent on the field curse others for you.
Ugh.. so good
Been watching ALL your hogwarts video's. You've definitely helped me to refine my combat, and spell usage
whats your other talents?
I doubt they’re gonna remove this it’s a combo system game there’s tons of different ways a playing. Somebody made a clip just like this during the 72 hour early access when it was released…
yeah, but I don't think this was intended, it's either a glitch or it's not supposed to work this way
@@voluntarism335 Everything he just did is meant to be played as is. There’s no glitch read the descriptions on the spells he’s using, they’re literally doing exactly what they’re intended to do. This game is about making tons of combos you think this is the best combo just wait another week or two people come up with some crazy stuff.
@Alister X this is 100% not intended. Which is evident by the fact that the transformed enemies revert back on PC. This is a console exclusive bug.
Invincible potion was one of my first perks and I never use them... idk if I'm dumb or good?
That's awesome
I love that you guys give updates and hot takes, but sometimes bringing attention to things isn’t always what’s best for the players 🤷🏾♂️
wow, cool combo! Love it! Sadly i dont wan that it has to be spread on crucio, cuz i dont wanna use unforgivvable. XD Ou I can can play it like that curse without crucioy, yeah
They said that the skill is bugged and will be fixed soon so i am not changing over that it may change soon
Do you play on hard mode?
how is your wand shiny
Can someone confirm that they patched the transformation avada kedavra exploit after today patch? Is not working for me
Because of UA-camrs, everything fun ends up getting patched and nerfed but thanks for the Video Ig
My problem is can’t really do that since my boosted curses kill everything so damn fast
I just want to know where you get the mask in that thumbnail....👀 better than the legendary mask frfr
For me, it is not work anymore I did crucio hit them once, and turn them into a barrel does not work
I use only four spells during combat along with Ancient Magic. Confingo, Bombarda, Diffindo and Avada.
Well i mean it's not as broken as chaining one shot avada kedavra kills with crucio and they intended that to be in the game
To me, this type of fast killing is monotonous. I like to prolong battles and toy with the mobs. Some of their dialog is hilarious.
Eduris potion + thundering brew is so hilarious. Destroys all mobs that want to do melee. Not even a challenge for you
Or maybe a DLC with a War of the world event where another alien Magic world invades and you get new powerful enemies to fight.
Crucio transform
No longer one shot enemies after patch
You can use the levioso spell on the troll as well to make it hit itself with the club
flippendo, not levioso
@@thetoyodacar2264 I’m saying you can use both spells
@@ruellete Does levioso also have the same effect as flippendo on a troll?
@@thetoyodacar2264 yes
so that's how i oneshotted troll... thanks for the explanation
Here we go trying to nerf other things in a single player game once you discover it. Who would want to play in a very hard mode if they just started or don't play this way? I have a feeling they thought hard was hard enough maxed out builds and exploits aside 😄
🔥🔥🔥
I think if they add a New Game + mode would be the best area to add a harder difficulty
Did you just delete a comment criticizing you calling a nerf on everything? Very disappointed if you actually did that, he was speaking the truth.
Do you even need the mastery? Depulso on a transformed enemy often just KOs them with lethal fall damage, and I'm wondering if it'll also KO everyone.
They really lied so hard about the length of the game. They said the main story was a minimum 35 hours, it took 20 with me exploring and doing side quest.
Nice for grinding towards level 40.
The only thing I have to say just play the game and do your level grinding and focus on your spell casting and skills as well and play how you want to play plus don't forget about your Gold grinding and choose your gear and sell some out of all just enjoy the game peace
If you cast the transform spell on animagus while human it instant kills them. Or something i did after that did.
You probably interrupted their transformation with your own Transformation spell, I think the Animagus page actually says to do exactly that against them.
@@admontblanc thatd how i knew to use it on em
that transformation-throw aoe burst is really weird that gonna get patched soon i bet
I've been playing on the hardest difficulty since day one taste by already get used to it just got rely on potions more if you just want to one shot every enemy and not make the game difficult plan story mode
Does this reduce the amount of experience you gain from killing enemies?
The entire thing was based on a bug that's LOOOONG fixed. Could update your video.
