Although very similar, the 1964 1/2 Mustang has a specific horn ring, while the 1965 and 1966 Mustang shares the exact same horn ring system. To learn about these differences and the specifics found in the horn ring system for the 1964 1/2 Mustang, make sure to watch our overview video.
CJ Product Specialist, Bill Tumas, also demonstrates how to assemble both horn ring systems and how to troubleshoot the 1965-1966 horn ring using our 1965 Weekend Wrench project car. - Авто та транспорт
Thank you Thank you finally a video that talks about what the horn ring back side should have and look like now I know what some one buchard up
Great video...Thanks Bill.
I recently tested my two horns on my classic 66 Mustang Coupe, the lo pitch was working but for some reason the hi pitch was not going off and its a brand new one. Then when I hooked both horns up and tested the switch for power it had power but neither horn went off properly. What kind of problem would you say it has? Will I need to get another new horn or two and a new switch?
Awesome!! Thank you.
Hi Bill, great video as usual.
I have a 67 mustang and have purchased many parts from CJ already.
Now the steering wheel is next.
I need part numbers for a 67 using these similar parts that fit the 67 including the horn/turn signal harness assembly.
When will the woodgrain wheel video be up? I'm very interested in how to do a replacement for it. Mine is acting up.
How do you install Scott Drake Horn Relay in Classic-68 Cougar part number FRHRN2?
Thanks Bill!!!!
Welcome!
Would that be the same for a 66 f 100 truck? If so then I have the wrong part. I have the swit h with the single contact spring bushing thing
nice video
Hey Bill, is the horn setup in this video similar to the 1967 horn assembly?
I'm in love with you and I need you in my life!!!! Lol!! I have an original 65 289 Mustang Coupe, and it needs to be completely retired! (wire harness) as well as a few other things..... I'm learning so much, thank you so much!!! ;-D
yeaaaah just fixed my 65 horn thx 2 u guys" Just missing the contact plate.
At 5:37, aren't the contacts facing downward towards the bottom spoke?
hey there the horn ring on my 65 coupe doesn,t touch the horn contacts it seems to be missing it by around 6 mm but i cant screw the steering wheel anymore than it is ,,there is a gap of around 6mm between wheel and coloum assembly ???
Loosen the column to dash bracket and pull the column closer to the steering wheel. It slides in and out. The steering shaft is fixed and does not move.
I bought a '65 steering wheel from the site and the horn contact spring just falls in place and gets stuck at the bottom :/
Yankee - I will see what I can do, we sold our 65 so I am between project cars. You are looking for a video on a woodgrain swap correct?
Bill please make that swap on "Lucy"
is there a video for same thing but 1967-68??
We will be doing a woodgrain steering wheel upgrade in the near future
Hi
Iam from argentina
Ive a Ford Falcon 1962
Mi horn cotact fail
Dou you Help me?
I Need a video to fix this problem
Thanks
The first steering wheel he did was literally a Falcon Sprint horn ring and wheel. Your turn signal switch is completely different used all the way back into the 50's. On a 63+ turn signal switch there's a small spring and copper contact that rides on a plate on the steering wheel to the horn ring. Check your horn contact on the column. The part number is C0DF-13A821-A
My 64.5 for whatever reason just stays on and I can’t figure it out, everything is installed correctly… It just stays on… I took the brush out for now but I want it to work properly, anyone else have this issue with their 64.5?
The cosmetics are slightly different but the assembly is the same.
