This makes the repair look a lot easier than what I was thinking. Will definitely do this to my ‘66, now. Never have had the heater even hooked up, here in SoCal, but why not do this simple repair to get it operating.
Glove compartment- This it’s a great video that really helped me rebuild my heater box and drive top down in colder weather. One thing I would recommend is folding out the glove compartment before you do this. It gives you better access to the heater box and you can bolt it down before attaching the cables so as to easily get them attached correctly.
LOL watching this video was like a flashback for me. This happened exactly to me and my wife 2 years ago. Bought a new heater core and gaskets to rebuild. Once I started taking the clips off, the fiberglass just started coming apart doors were rusted and broken pieces. So next was buying the whole new plenum kit and replacing everything like you did. Heater and defroster work awesome now.
I'd check that heater core for leaks before I'd install it and iif you're not concerned about being factory correct I'd put zip ties around the heater duct hoses where they connect on both sides. They look like they would fall off easily.
How come it looks like an Aluminum core and the Original is a Brass and Copper? CJ sells a brass and copper but if the Aluminum one is good Id like to get one of those
I hate you guys! Always making everything look so easy… Seriously though - great video as always! I do wish that CJ Pony parts actually came with instructions or even just diagrams for some replacement parts, but as long as y’all keep cranking out the videos, there’s no need. Love the blue Seiko turtle, Bill! Have one just like it. Always fun to see what watch you’re wearing…

This will come in handy, just getting ready to do this exact thing to my 66.

I’m about to do the same thing to my 65. So stoked you guys put up a video on this. Thanks!
Drove my OCD crazy when you reused the old nuts on the motor. LOL. Great video!
This was a big help Bill! All done and ready to go in! Thanks for all the great how-to videos!
You can use a flathead screwdriver to bend the clips into place. No damage to the box edges if you do it nice and gentle. Same for removal.
You would think this is common knowledge on how to remove these clips
So Old and yet so simple, HECK, im going to replace it on my 2019 Stang...LOL! Great Vlog guys!!
Awesome you guys that help so much. 👍
Thank you for the details on the rebuild even though you guys went with new...
Great job, that’s going to be my next project Tnk you
Have fun!

I have a 66 with a heater delete. Should I leave it like this? I think it’s the rarest thing about my car!
Betty... Ford. Nice.
Mine has one side of box just under glove box a place where wire connect to box inside car . Did not see that here

How long is the total process in hours on this job?
What do you do if the box is half there and other half on the floor 🤣 my wife's 66 needs help and my 65 needs everything under there
What adhesive do you recommend to attach the seals?
We’re you ever able to figure out what adhesives you needed for your seals?
