I hold no doubt this thing is capable of another 57 years, simple and reliable package all around
A fun car to drive. I have a 65, and love every minute I get to drive it.
I'm having fun building my 1970 BOSS 302. Barn find 41 years in a barn in WV. The guy that undercoating this car was a genius, no rust from environmental just 3 holes from rat pee. You the best thanks for giving me the courage to do this. I watch all your videos multiple time....thanks.
Nice to see you smiling. Happy. Fun times.
Nothing like simplicity and old school. 😊
Ben, I so enjoy watching you, live yer best life..
I've got a 65 coupe, driver car, 90 302 F150 motor, with four barrel and an AOD. My buddy and painted it in 91. So it looks a bit distressed now, a perfect "urban assault" vehicle... Drive any where, even winter, and park where ever you want.. Absolute freedom, for a car guy... And as you mentioned in yer video on this car, a perfect "business card_ for your shop. I don't know WTF some of those haters were 🤔 thinking in the comments.. Good grief, not every car project, has to reach "perfection". Drive brother, just drive !!!!
Love the sound of the exhaust. More details please.
Great car, not what I imagined you would drive oddly… i was expecting concourse ready. I enjoy your work, thanks for sharing.
Fantastic seats. For me a comfortable seat is EVERYTHING. I really liked the Camry I was leasing a few years back, other than the seats, which were hurting my back. I was forced to get rid of it as a result. I then went back in time and bought a gorgeous 1991 Mercedes-Benz 350 SDL, which has the most comfortable seats I have ever experienced.
Just wait for all the unsuspecting people, to come up to you, and tell you that you should have it restored. Looks awesome, I’m building something along the same line, no paint job, just drive it and enjoy!
Engine and bay on point!
Knowing how thoroughly you restore cars it must have been difficult to build this one. Nice driver.
Nice grocery getter, some more fine craftsmanship. 😊
Great Car...Hope you keep and Enjoy It...For a While...!!!
I think it is simply a fantastic idea and I love her !!!! My 2008 Bullitt is a daily driver but take it to car shows to let kids sit in her. She is a salvage title but looks good with (as you did) many upgrades and maintainence parts and has a Paxton Charger. I Love to drive her !!
Her name is Going Green !!
Just for peace of mind......I like to do all the wheel bearings, shocks, leaf springs, brakes, etc. Even if they don't need it. That way it's one less thing you need to worry about breaking down when driving.
When I got my license in 1974 my first car was 66 Mustang 289 4 speed car, they make great daily drivers. easy to work on and maintain.
The rusty quarter panels would drive me nuts.
Ben, full props for this project. Much as it’s great to see all your professional expertise on rare Fastback Mustangs, it’s just as great to see your personal early beater/daily Coupe. For example, the exhaust note is priceless yet so attainable, as is the rest of your car. Thanks again - so inspirational...!
Holy crap, enough with the Peterson quality criticism already... Did you not get "the daily" driver aspect of the build here? It's fun, reliable, and he can leave it anywhere... A great business card, for him, running errands.. And he gets to " row" thru the gears as a bonus!!! That in it self, is almost guaranteed theft deterrent for more 7/8's of car theft population out there !!! Nice car Ben.. We'd love to see the cost and parts used breakdown of you can do it... God bless.
Really cool car.
Neat driver quality car. Personally - I would rattle can the front fender extensions and the jambs satin black, and I'm not a fan of low profile rubber on traditional muscle cars. I would prefer them in a 15-16" with more rubber than those, but that's just MY old school opinion. Again - neat car.
Very cool daily! 😎 🤙
Love the car! Under the radar and awesome! No needfor concours car like someone said ..why drive something you willbe afraid of road rash or rock chips or someone hitting you.
Awesome driver
Love it 👍
BTW, yes would love you to do a cost breakdown video on the green coupe...
I'm missing new content. I really enjoyed seeing the work on these cars.
I just found out last night about the mishap at the Mecum Auction in Harrisburg. I didn't see a post from you, so I hope your Mustang escaped any damage and you were able to sell it. That is a shame with what happened to the other cars that were outside on the 25th.
Its ashame prior owners hacked the dash for the radio--I don`t get people that do that
Missing your vids, but real work that pays real money comes first!
Hope to see more in the future.
She sounds sweet 😊
Nice driver 👍
Love 💯 ❤ it !!
Sums me up, too...!
Excellent
Beater with a heater
Perfect man
A dude needs something to drive
Totally agree!
I love this mustang
I remember driving my dad's newer '66 260 (auto) around through towns and on roads like that in WVa. Oddly satisfying.
64 1/2 were the only ones the got the 260.
Starting with the '65 ot was either the 6 cylinder or the 289.
There was no 260 in '66.
@@malibuconv1968 Thanks. Guess my memory sucks.
Love that
Awesome
Looks great but man that dash gash for the cd player hurt my feelings lol.
Very nice cruiser! What's going on with the Torino project? Keep up the great work!
Love it. You did good. Thanks
Had to laugh at you cutting off some of the length to your blinker rod. I’m 6’5” with a 68 coupe and I did the same thing. 😂
I did too
show cars are great but there’s nothing better than having one rough around the edges that you can drive and enjoy anywhere without worries of rock chips and bug splatters. can you get it on the highway and cruise well or does it rpm high at highway speeds? love it!
Hi Ben: Can you give me the details on the exhaust system you used, please?
Ditch the cd player and get a factory 1966 radio. Find one at a swap meet or online.. cd is done. Oh yeah,i noticed your in Pennsylvania, that hood needs a 12 point rack mounted on it 🥸🤔😁🦌
Cool build. Love seeing what you're working on. You mention having 17" wheels--did you have to modify the fenders to make them fit? I'm currently working on 65 fastback and we're going to upgrade the brakes to discs but weren't aware we could fit 17s. Thanks!
Nice job keeping it real.
Looking beautiful, Ben. One question though, the TMI sport seats. Do you find that you are sitting way higher in the car? I have the same kit in a 1st gen Camaro and my head almost hits the roof and I am not a very tall guy.
Makes me want to work on my 65 coupe. Practicle but nice at the same time. Mine is 302 with a C4. Factory GT car I had it painted G2 Redfire over 5 years ago just need to to put the power back in.I have everything but my age is slowing me down. Thanks
Sweet!
looks good, were did you get that trunk mat?
Is there a way to hookup the tri guages, and still have the original cluster guages work also?
Liking the shock tower braces; custom made?
What model no. are those TMI seats? They look great. Thanks in advance.
It needs a tach. To know your RPM's. What RPM's do you like it at when at a cold start idol?
I have a tech question , I put brand new upper and lower control arms on my 65 coupe , I did the shelby drop, on reinstalling the strut rod the driver's side strut rod will not line up mounting holes on the lower control arm., and no amount of pushing or pulling can I get the holes to align. Any suggestions? every thing was fine on the original front end . I also checked the parts to see if anything was made wrong . Everything was correct. Help!!
Just purchased a very late build (Aug 1, 66, Dearborn) 1966 convertible. I was wondering what size wheels/tires you are running on your coupe, and did you have to make any modifications to make them work?
I just picked up a 66 mustang but it's the inline 6 version. I really just want to drive it and not perfect it. I hear that it's not fast enough for the highway, is that true?
Uh! 🤨 What is up with the horn? The other one was not working and they used the wires to make another one work?!? Is it getting ground? Crazy!!!
What is the Backspacing and offset of your 17"wheels???
I did not know there is a 3 speed top loader made.
did you cut that dash?
I can deal with a lot of nickels and dimes as long as the engine is trouble free.
#savingtherustbuckets
Did I hear you say......2 barrel?
Did you relocate the UCA's. What is the rear gear?
No stock location and stock 279 gear I believe
@@petersonrestorations 289 was toast?
I'm jelly. Just needs AC if you live in south Alabama
Does anyone know if he is taking on new clients? Sent an email but i got no response 😅.
Do you want to trade you air filter cover for the same saying “Cobra”?
Was there something wrong with the engine that it came with ?
It was definitely on its last leg so I just wanted to start fresh
Hey do u do work for customers I have 1968 cougar I need some work done to
Yea but I only do mustangs
2 Barrell Carburetor ?????
Not liking the 3-speed… 🤷♂️
This is NOT Peterson quality. I use to brag about what you sell, this car is more like a Maple Motors junk car.
It was a daily driver when it came off the production line. It was never meant to be a high performance vehicle.
