Best advice I was ever given with a car hauler, learn to tie down the tires not the frame. Either buy ratchet straps for such or learn how to do it with regular straps. Plenty of videos on it.
That’s a great tip! No movement that way.
If you have room for a small truck box to put tools, winch gear, and ratchet straps. If not just put ratchet straps together in a duffle bag. It’s easy to grab when you’re ready.
I do need to find a shallow box, because the jack is fairly far back.
Nice purchase. Definitely two spare tires and lots of tie downs. Winch for sure being most trucks you get doesn't have any drivetrains.
2 spares is not a bad idea! Maybe one day I can drive a truck onto a trailer! Who am I kidding? That won’t happen!
Definitely add a winch to the front. Best mod I did besides adding multiple tie down locations.

Yeah buddy, trailer is always good. I rigged up a winch on square tubing so it can be removed and you can use it on your truck receiver. I use that thing for pulling stumps to pulling pump out of a windmill.
I’ve thought about doing that as well. How big of winch is yours? Some of these big ones weight more than me! Lol
Got the HF Badlands 12,000. Noticed that HF is now selling a hitch mount for these that has hand grips. Also maybe of interest is I use an oil field engine grade cannon plug and receptacle so I can quick connect /disconnect a battery without permanently wiring it on. @@ItsTheChad71
Chad , you fix this one up with a winch and tool box's and some spare tires and you sell it (at a huge Profitt) and get and enclosed trailer.
That would be a bonus! I can’t wait to start working on it!
I have the same trailer.
Install your winch and battery in a truck box with a solar charger mounted to the top of the box.
Deep cycle battery and your done.

Rough country 9500 is around $300 and it works great on my trailer. I also used the Harbor Freight winch mount.

I did harbor freight 10k winch and tool box. Also tie downs and chains never have a enough.
Also spend money on a good break controller. Don’t cheap out. Leaned hard way
