- This was an absolute STEAL! Huge car trailer for under $1000?? Is it possible? What's wrong with it? I bought this thing sight unseen and made a 700 mile trip to get it. What could possibly go wrong? Oh, AND I bought a car on the way back with it too..... :)

5k likes and ur changing your trucks rims
Sure, I agree to that! But can you guys get there??
@@matt13ross I like those rims on your truck
Wasn't there a video where a truck lost a similar wheel on a highway and that wheel caused another car in the next lane to flip over?
@@myc0pwas similar wheels but way less wide but that was caused by wheel spacers or not being responsible enough to check wheel bearings
@@matt13rossno pls.no I love them wheels
Thank you for putting the stock wheels back on LOL those factory rims look 10000 times better.
We can only hope somebody steals those wheels while you go to get the trailer
Ahahaha that's great! But please no
That made me laugh
😂😂
Don’t no one wants them rims
PLEASE!!
The stock wheels look better and as you said won’t cause suspension damage and are actually rated to tow. The aftermarket eliminates what the truck was actually built for as there is. No way I’d ever tow with low profile wide tires like those. On top of that the stock tires won’t cause damage to vehicles behind you as well as yours and are actually legal. You can definitely find wheels and tires that are a bit wider and better looking than the factory that are still tow rated, won’t cause suspension damage, aren’t a danger to cars behind you as well as being legal.
Teenage trends those wheels way better now, of course we still can get nicer ones but at least stock is better than those replaced.
Actually I had buddies who ran those type of wheels and tow a massive goose neck trailer and his truck’s suspension does just fine.( you could always upgrade to a much better suspension) now the whole damaging thing doesn’t happen as often. But if you really wanna guarantee it, you can put mud flaps on it.. problem solved plus the wide wheels really gives the truck a lot of character, the stock wheels really just makes the entire truck look like a grandpa truck, sorry, not sorry.
@@LyttonKing it’s not just about the suspension. Tires have a maximum load rating. It’s stamped right on the tire. Hauling heavy loads you should be utilizing 10 ply or higher depending on the weight. You also don’t want low profile tires like that because there’s no cushion if you hit a big bump or pothole. Plus with heavy loads your tires will compress some as well. Running down the highway at 70-75 mph and having your wheel bent causing a blow out will be very dangerous.
Mud flaps also won’t fix all the problem. He would have to put really large fender flairs on it in order to cover the entire wheel.
I understand some people like the looks and I understand why. Upgrading your wheels and tires to a better looking larger size while staying inside the fenders is completely possible and done every day.
I’ve had to work accidents that were caused by another vehicle be it a car or truck or a semi truck throwing objects through someone’s windshield. In one case an occupant was very seriously injured and in another case it caused a secondary accident when the driver walked other brakes and tried to swerve out of the way thus hitting another vehicle which in turn caused additional crashes. It’s just a safety thing. You have to ask yourself don’t you want your family to be as safe as possible while driving on the road? It’s already dangerous enough, we don’t need something else to worry about as well.
It’s why most states created a law stating that your wheels cannot stick out past the factory fenders unless they are properly covered by fender flairs and of course mud flaps and in that case they cannot stick out past the rear view mirrors.
Those deep dish wheels need to find a new home.
maybe in Houston, Vegas, or Compton
@@slowery43 Don't be that guy...
Home on the truck!!
Stock wheels arent great, but It's the offset that makes the aftermarket wheels look especially dumb. The spiked lugs don't help.
IDK wherey stock lugs are, hence the spikes.
Hahaha @@matt13ross
Sorry but stock looks the best 😊
X2…sorry Matt
Chevy wheels always look great with a bigger tire on them! A 35 on his truck would be perfect.
Finally at least for the time being it's way more nice.
Matt seems to fuck up the wheel selection on everything. Never should of took the #blackwheelsmatter off the yellow Porsche. Then he put those ugly ass stick-eight-miles-outside-of-the-fender wheels on his truck.
The tires and wheels actually fit inside the wheel wells! It looks much, much better!
The fact you changed them to actually use the truck kinda proves a point people make. They’re not only ugly, but also impractical. Those aren’t the best looking stock wheels but a new set of bigger tires would make them look a lot better.
Also, those spiked lug nuts probably don’t seat up against the factory wheel like they should…pretty sure oem lug nuts are shaped a little different.
People with wide wheels have proven over and over that you can use the wide wheels while towing.
@@LyttonKing just because you can doesn’t mean you should
@@LyttonKing Yeah, and you can also Carolina Squat your truck and tow too, but both of those things just imply you have brain damage beyond reasonable doubt. Thankfully that in of itself is being outlawed in multiple State's. There is a multitude of undisputable reasons as to why manufacturers make their trucks and set them up the way that they do for towing purposes and purposes of the truck itself, and why none of them come looking like this out of the factory.
@@SpeCifiC0507 never have a Carolina squat in my truck nor do I ever plan so, those wheels makes the truck look good, and it actually surprisingly does it job more than what it should have done
The main reason for the switch was wear and tire on my nice wheels plus driving in the Bronx. They're fine for towing.
These stock wheels looks way better than the rubber bands. If you don’t like them get a wheel and tire combo that is functional, rubber band are not meant for towing
Words can't describe how much better those stock wheels are
I agree. In Australia the original ones wouldn’t be legal any way.
Crazy how much better the stocks look!!
Stock wheels... much better! Your love of those other wheels has always befuddles me... but to each his own, except on those wheels! Love your channel!
Stock wheels look better than those hideous rims… and if you hate them so much there are tons of options available that have a better stance and tyre to wheel ratio…
Those factory wheels and tires look much better. I can’t tell you how much I hate those aftermarket ones
Your truck looks so much better with the stock wheels 👍ditch those ridiculous ones please 🙏
Well Matt, my 2 cents is that the stock wheel setup looks better than your custom combination. You could also lose the spike lug nuts because they scream immaturity.
That's just the lugs I had.
Stock wheels with normal nuts all day. I don’t get the other wheels at all. Nice grab on the trailer. Hope you fix it up to your liking.
The stock wheels and tires look much better but…. Those tacky spikey lug nuts look stupid bro.
Congratulations on the trailer. The damage is not too bad. Killer deal!
I only used them because IDK where I put them stock lugs lol
@@matt13ross We love bustin' your balls Matt. It means we like you.
Dude! The stock wheels look 100 times better. Honestly its so obvious it’s not even worth mentioning.
HUGE fan of the channel and trucks in general. However. Those factory wheels look so so so much better dude
You need a different hitch to raise the center point of the trailer so it doesn't front sag and cause your truck to sag.
Yes. But I didint know that until I got the trailer.
The stock rims and tires look so much better. Sorry, not a fan of trucks with those skinny tires
Might be “grandpa”, but stock looks better and will certainly make towing work correctly.
I am guessing a Porsche is what you picked up on the way home ! at least from my lip reading ( Questionable skills ) , really do enjoy the Porsche content
You should be able to read my lips. I think it's obvious lol
I'm not for the stock wheels, just very much against the bro-dozer wheels.😁
Exactly. It's not that we love the stock wheels, it's just that the stock wheels are better than the chosen aftermarket ones. There are other aftermarket choices that more people would agree with
Stock wheels with semi off-road tires would look nice
Your truck, your tyres. Glad you changed them for towing though
This is what I like about your Channel….Straight out no bullshit diy …If it works it works …If it doesnt then tacckle it again…..Top job Matt 💪💪💪💪
Sorry Matt but as a long time subscriber i said i didn't like them when you first put them on and still😅 haven't changed my mind. Stock so much better, but IMO change the lugs as well. Trucks that are purpose built are built so for a reason mate. Here in Australia with so much gravel the low profile tyres and rims would be useless. My opinion only though. Love the channel.
The OEM look much better. :) The OEM chrome wheels leak air though. My High Country that I bought brand new in 2015 needed the OEM wheels replaced last year because of it. Bought some FUELs.
Stock wheels look much better.
Dude, its only ego telling you the custom setup is better. The stock wheels may be fugly, but they are a country mile better than the custom and 10x better from a functional / comfort perspective.
I certainly don't have an ego. I just love the wheels lol. They will get bigger tires eventually.
@@matt13ross Noooooo!
Hopefully someone will steal those nasty ass wheels while you're gone...Now it looks like a grownups truck...Lol 3:32
The stock wheels are a little boring, but having some sidewall makes the truck look a lot better.
Those 2007 bro dozer wheels are hideous
Awesome deal Matt! No doubt with your ingenuity & mechanical knowledge you got this fixed!
Dude 😂😂😂I know you love those wheels 🛞 but please don’t put them back on the truck 😅😂😂😂😂
No Shade but digging the stock wheels better than the deep dish. Cool trailer dude.
Sorry, stock wheels are a million times better. The design and finish on your wheels is perfect but they're too wide, too tall and tires are horrible. IMO. Your truck, your call.
Very good deal. FYI for the next time. Excellent temp repair, however. I had a similar situation. A very nice older gentleman suggested. Taping the tear in a cris-cross pattern prior to placing the plastic atop. Gives a bit more structure. I was doing that in a snow storm, worked very good. Congratulations on your buy.
Stock wheels looks far better…
Yesss finally we get to see the stock wheels.
Your editing just gets better and better. The road trip shots and montage really help tell that short story of your trip. Looking forward to whatever you towed home!
I do think he's getting the hang of pacing his videos so he's not slowing down so much and then speeding up through things.
@@travisfabel8040 Agreed.
Thanks guys! I try and keep them fast paced and not boring.
@@matt13ross I think there are a lot of us who would watch whatever you decide to produce. You're doing a great job.
I like the stock wheels better, but I dig your style and it’s your truck.
Now I can rewatch it without the lagging. You’ve quickly become one of my favourite creators.
Thank you!
Great video as always Matt! This trailer is going to be a god send for ya! I picked up a small enclosed trailer for Dirt Biking, a little overnight camping for Dirt bike weekends and well all of the other stuff you need trailers for. Thanks for posting!
Dont forget to include a inline fuse(15amp) from the battery.
We make fun of the people that put big wheels and tiny tires on big trucks. What's next squatting it?
Also if you feel you need to change them out to tow a trailer.... probably says more about it than any of us can.
Stock wheels are average but a million times better than those hideous pimp style wheels!
I'm weird and I admit it. I always say "what I would have done" and this is no different. I would have put the battery box inside the trailer to reduce theft, and installed a solar panel or two with an extra battery for the lights and a trickle charger for the lift winch. Get some square or round aluminum tubing to reconstruct the roof structure using some basic T fittings and bolts to both hold the walls together and provide some ribs so I could use either white Tyvek Sheeting or some white Sail Cloth to form the roofing. A bit of a process but it would be a lighter structure and with the translucent nature of both materials you wouldn't necessarily need day time lighting, and could glue LED strip lighting to the aluminum ribs for night time lighting which could run off a small battery kept charged by a few solar panels mounted to the roof or to the side of the box. I doubt if the roofing material would be 100% dry.... but ..... yeah, clear sealant on the roof top could make it water proof. Maybe use aircraft canvas and doping... that would work too.
Words can't describe how much better the stock rims look!
Yeah…both wheels for the truck look horrendous 😂
Man you keep improving yourself! Great video as always! Idc about the wheels, it's yours, you like it, that's all I care about it.
And the lights all went out in Massachusetts
The day I left her standing on her own👍 great road trip Mr Matt
You are going to love the electric power trailer jack, I have used one on my enclosed trailers for at least 10 years now and I love it. You should have the jack plug wired so that if you connect the trailer plug your truck will power the jack. You can get much more power from your truck as a power source than the battery alone, and your truck should have a power provision already in the trailer outlet in the bumper, you just may need to connect the wiring under the hood that came from the factory, or it may already be connected since your truck is a 3/4 ton. Great move getting the trailer for so cheap.
I love the jack already!
That’s a nice trailer! Looks like a really easy fix. I don’t like the stock wheels on your truck, but I hate your other rims more.
I love them. Any super chrome wheel is good in my book. Black wheels are so ghetto! 😊
I started to watch your video, then you showed me the tires and wheels on your truck, and said that you absolutely loved them. I won't be back!
So you didn't see me change them? Nice
Love your taste in Porsches, but wheels on trucks? Not so much. I bet if you really tried, you could find a wheel you like in a better more stock size.
Sorry Matt but I’m one of those guys who prefer the stock look over your babies. After market are ok but not as wide or low profile as your preferred wheels. However as we say, your truck your wheels 😊
"ive never been at a copart"
Obviously. You forgot your orange vest!!!!! LOL
Consider adding a fuse to the + battery lead. Without a fuse a short circuit could easily start a fire.
Best thing you have done for that truck is to take those god awful wheels off
I just did the same thing with a BMW E46 on my page. GREAT WORK.
Lol being a grandpa I like the non stock wheels and tires. But for the tow stock was the right choice.
I need those wheels for my 94 suburban to piss off all the chevy people lol
Way better looking with the old tires and wheels. 😜
Those rims are fire, the everybody cant pull off the hotboy chrome look. They just dont understand
Lovely trailer that! Wish we had nice capable trucks in the UK like you have in the USA
Get yourself some sautersticks You won't be disappointed.
Stock wheels are 🤮 but great for the trip you took✅ ( I’d throw plastic loom over the electric tape on the wiring, it’ll look better and more finished….imho )
Finally, looks like an actual purposeful truck with stock wheels. To each their own I guess...
Stock wheels look good. In Finland those toy wheels would not even be legal since they come out from the car too much. Could still be bigger than stock ones, but not with the rim size.
Pretty impressive Matt, you never know what's around the next corner. My Wife and I went through our Motorhome phase and every spring was a new big repair, sold it real cheap to get rid of it. I hope you have a better experience than we did.
I hope so too!
Good deal on the trailer!
I literally just picked up my enclosed copart trailer yesterday!! There is barely any damage on it!! Keep up the good work man!!
Thanks! Will do!
Those wheels and tires look really good idk why people dont like them
IDK why either!
Check under your hood on your truck by your battery. You might have a rolled up red wire that needs to be connected to your battery that will power up the interior lights. This was my find when my interior lights didn't work on my enclosed trailer. Hooked up the one wire, and bam, lights worked. Good luck, and killer deal!
My Chevy needed a fuse added to the underhood fuse box to allow the 7 pin plug to charge the trailer battery.
@@larryjohns8823 same, forgot to add that too 👍
Thanks I'll check that out!
@matt13ross No problem. Good luck, and killer deal!
I like the wheels and tires. Do what makes you happy, it's your truck.
The wheels look good, but can't you find one, that fit the truck? 😉
Awesome, Matt! Great find on the trailer - nothing like a new project, eh? ;)
Lots of new ones!
That’s a steal on the trailer
I am thinking people don't like your wheels. I don't know what makes me think that but I will continue to investigate
it is your truck, your wheels, our opinion does not matter. Just glad it is not squatted
Stock tires and rims for the win!! Looks like a truck now.
Truck's looking awsome with the big rims😎 whole truck is spot on🤙🤙
Boy, we all roasted your non functional 'rubber band' wheels! I love everything else you do!
I've been roasted hundreds of times in this video alone lol
You deffo need bigger wheels than the stock, but those deep dish are just not right imo. That said, it’s your truck - do what you want :)
Brother, please yourself!! Spend your money on whatever you desire.
oh my god the difference stock wheels make 😂 its not my truck but the stocks look so much better
If you think Manhattan traffic is bad try driving in Toronto Canada.
Stock wheels look much better on that truck. Personal preference, I've never liked the wide wheels on trucks.
If you’re going to change the wheels on a DuraMax at least put wheels that actually belong on a diesel truck..
Your work with the electrics is impressive 👌
Thanks 👍
nice now i can buy my next project car now yay
Tires aren’t to my taste. But hey! As long as the wheel works haha
i dont mind good looking rims , on some nice tread, those stocks dont look to bad you can always get some 17/18s on 33's and have some offset still !
"Let's make sure nothing dumb happens..." BOOM, Subscribed!!!😝
Haha thanks!!
18:50 I know it was just to get it home but you should upgrade that hitch to one with a higher rating 5k is pretty low. if you load the trailer with a car it would be way over the capacity of that and could break. Also get the correct 2.5" sized hitch for the receiver the 2" one you are using is for 1500 trucks, cars, and mini vans but 2500 pickups use a 2.5" one. If you really don't want to upgrade to the 2.5" hitch they make a sleeve for the receiver to properly allow the 2" hitch in the 2.5" receiver without so much slack like you have and that sleeve is like $11-$15 but you'll still need a stronger hitch for that trailer. Hope this helps just want everybody to stay safe👍
I have a sleeve in there.
This was a steal!
Amazing price for the trailer and you were able to make a video on it already. Well, my guess of 100k subs by July hasn't happened but I do think it's still going to happen before 2025. While I get why some people do or don't like a certain style of custom or stock wheels, it is your truck and you get to choose whatever wheels you like. Looking forward to see what the car is you just bought as well.
Id be thrilled with 100k at the end of the year but it doesn't look like that will happen. I hope so though!
