Pugz I finished it in study hall, and I was sobbing. And everyone else was watching a movie. It just so happened when I started sobbing the movie was in a happy part. So everyone looked at me like I was crazy, and my friend had to bring me a tissue.
I made the mistake of reading the last 100 pages of The book thief on a friday night, during which I cried like a baby, and then immediately watching the movie right after, where I cried even more. It was a very emotional night.
The Kite Runner was pretty sad, I'll give you that. But I didn't really shed any tears over it. I never cried while reading a book to tell you the god damn truth. It's just not in me. For one thing, I'm a dude and we usually don't cry over things like this and the only time I've ever cried was when I was a baby. So there you go.
I read A Monster Calls in one sitting. I was at a coffee shop waiting for my friend to finish work and she was shocked when she arrived because I was crying alone...and in public.
The Book Thief hit me hard as well. I was reading the last chunk of it while sitting in the living room with my husband and I had to get up and leave the room because I could not stop crying and I was afraid he was going to think I was having an emotional breakdown or something. Usually, if I do cry during books, I can keep it to tears rolling down my cheeks, but I was literally borderline sobbing during this one. So good. I also had a good little cry during THAT part in The Knife of Never Letting Go (haven't read the rest of the series yet but now gearing myself up for it).
Not really I want to say I’ve read them all not I have them for show I do read ebooks and library books but it’s like I’ve read them all and am just getting into ebooks but yea books r not made to be for show they were made to read
Esme Gi Gi Genevieve Squalor books are made to be enjoyed, in whatever manner people choose!! Live & let live! If somebody takes joy or pride in having a shelf of books they can look at and say they have read, its hardly anybody else’s place to say how they should feel about their books! Personally, I love looking at my shelves and seeing how many books I’ve read! It brings me joy to reminisce on the experiences each book gave me, & I also feel a sense of accomplishment! Taking a look at all the shelves full of books that I’ve read makes me feel like I’ve made some progress & makes my TBR feel a little less impossible! So I don’t think anybody should tell anybody else what a book is for. A book is for whatever you want it to be for, to be enjoyed in whichever way a person chooses! :):)
Nearly screamed aloud when you held up the Clockwork Princess book. Honestly. Honestly. I love that book so much-the whole triology, tbh. It just hit so different. I'm having a hard time reading other novels right now because somehow my thoughts would always float back to Jem and Will and Tessa 😭
I didn't cry during clockwork princess but when i closed the book the tears came and i couldn't stop crying and this never happens to me. I also cried at mockingjay and tfios
I just totally agree! The Book Thief,Rudy,my gosh,it broke my heart,I cried twice when I watched the movie and more than six times when I reread the book.
Books I cried in- Complete Harry Potter Series All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell The Art of Asking by Amanda Palmer Almost every piece of fanfiction I read The Lord of the Rings Trilogy I hope you feel better soon!!!!
I literally just watching The Book Thief movie after reading the book in June. The book got me all choked up, but there were no tears. The movie on the other hand... waterfall out of my eyeballs. I cried so so much!
Carli Smith I stopped reading that book when I was about half-way through because I was honestly unimpressed... does that mean I should pick it up again?
I guess it depends on what type of book you enjoy, really. I was intrigued and felt connected with the characters from the beginning. It is slow, but I'm the type of reader who likes the realistic fiction books. Maybe you just weren't feeling it at that time
I haven't read anything by Patrick Ness, but I've heard great things. I am so excited for The Infernal Devices! I don't remember crying during HP, but if I did it was during book 7.
Oh yes, A Monster Calls. Deep down I knew how it was going to end, but I was still so hopeful. Dear god Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. I cried so. much. There was times I cried because I was sad for the characters, because I was frustrated, there were times I didn't even know why I was crying. And then I cried because I was relieved and so happy. One of my favorite books ever. Also The Winner's Crime. The last 30 pages ripped my heart in two. Probably the only time I've been glad to have been partially spoiled, otherwise I would have been so much more emotional
Mockingjay spoiler I didn't cry when prim died, I was upset and put the book down for 10 minutes, but then I picked it back up and cried when she yelled at the cat. That just made me lose it.
The Book Thief made me cry so much! I was curled up on my bedroom floor bawling my eyes out. It is on of my favourite books though. Also All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven - prepare to shed tears.
1. Ur videos are perfect. 2. This hair cut suits u sooo well 3. Ur sick voice is actually kinda nice, I know m weird but I like rough voices n I wish I had one. 4. Ur like one of my fav booktubers if not my favorite. 5. Why isnt the fault in our stars mentioned here? 6. I know ur not a big fan og VA but shadow kiss made me cry like a baby 7. This comment is way too long so bbye :3
The Book Thief was the first book to ever make me cry. I was bawling at the backseat of my car so hard! At that moment, it became my favorite book and ahhh I just love it so much.
While you were talking about the book that made you cry "at 3 o'clock in the morning on a Saturday" I actually said out loud, "obviously The Book Thief" before you said it because that was also me. You're description of the emotional roller coaster was so accurate it hurt. 😂
Wisdom daughter walks alone 😭 the feels!! I think the worst part is when Percy says goodbye to Annabeth before her quest:( like seriously Uncle Rick, you just can't do that! Cried over the whole PJO and HoO series, also with The Infernal Devices, mean and out of this world authors:(
sunnysodapop Well.I kind of agree with you,but it's really cry-worth tbh. There are some quotes in the book that gives us a lesson and the ending part just makes everyone shed tears.
Hazal Exo-L Iv'e been wanting to get to the part with augustus dying tho. That's really what made me pick up the book. I wanna see how author writers that out.
MY STEPMOM INSISTED I RUN ERRANDS WITH HER WHILE I WAS READING CLOCKWORK PRINCESS. I STARTED SOBBING IN THE CAR AND THEN CRIED ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE MALL AND CRIED HARDER WHEN I GOT HOME. Other books that made me cry in public: (some throw back) Breaking Dawn, Betrayal by P.C. and Kristin Cast, TFIOS, The Half Blood Prince, The Last Olympian, Allegiant. My copy of Breaking Dawn is actually tear stained and its shameful.
I cried so much during Clockwork Princess. Especially in the epilogue! I've never cried so much in a book And while reading Mockingjay I also cried more on the same scene as you Reagan! Finally I'm not alone!!
I looked like Justin Long crying on New Girl when I read A Monster Calls. My eyes were so puffy the next day. Me Before You by JoJo Moyes is one of those satisfying cry books. By the time everything comes to a close, there is a real sense of peace even though the events of that book were heart breaking. The book I cried the absolute hardest over however, was Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Patterson. It was put your book down and sob crying.
Kayla Rayne I remember finishing Me Before You late one night in my loft in college. I was trying to be quiet because my roommate was sleeping, but I was so emotional! So good - and the sequel comes out this fall! Yay!
Kayla Rayne No wonder my town got flooded awhile back. Thanks! Your ocean of tears washed away all the trash, bums, and prostitutes. My town looks like a paradise now!
All The Light We Cannot See was one of my single tear books as well, and I was seriously hoping you would mention it. Everything was so perfectly woven together and beautiful.
Oh my gosh! I read Mockingjay in school and I was reading it during D.E.A.R. Time because I read it in elementary and I actually ended up sobbing, and my teacher came over to me, and she was like what's wrong and all I could do was point to the book
When I was in fifth grade my psychopath of a teacher read the entire class The Boy In Stripe Pajamas the people who understood it were balling their eyes out
People says that the book *_Johnny Got His Gun_* is the hardest book to keep reading because is very deep, sad and suffocating. It is a story about a soldier that lost his vision, ears, speech, legs and arms. Trapped in his own screaming and crying in silence wanting for death
All those books are awesome! I cry a lot after reading A Monster Calls. I want to add or maybe recommend some books that I made me a cry baby. They are Salt to the Sea and Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys, and Legend trilogy by Marie Lu.
SPOILER ALERT (HARRY POTTER HALF BLOOD PRINCE) I was a mess when Dumbledore died. It was like three in the morning and I was in the page before reading about Dumbledore's death and I thought I'll read this page and the next and I'll go to sleep (as I had school the next day.) But when I read it I was like NO CAN'T GO TO SLEEP NOW. I went to my kitchen whilst crying (after my sister threw me out of our room because I woke her up) I then woke my mum up, she was worried and asked me what was going on I told her and she just hugged me whilst laughing incredibly loud. CAN ANYONE RELATE? (DON'T KNOW WHY I'M SCREAMING JUST AM.)
The Book Thief made me cry like a baby. Even just thinking about it can put me to tears. I also cried reading TFIOS, My Sister's Keeper and One Day. Prob more but those are the ones that I can remember right now.
I'm really curious about which part you cried at in Mockingjay. Please tell me? You could press enter a bunch of times before you say it so people have to click 'read more' to see it I REALLY WANT TO KNOW PLEASE
Nora O'Neill *spoilers* I didn't cry at either of those parts actually, I cried at the bit where Peeta is rescued but he despises and fears Katniss because in my opinion someone you love having a mental illness where they can't recognise you for the person you really are to them is worse than them dying, because you may never get closure.
Is it weird that Im now super motivated to read The Book Thief? I normally dont cry, but I cried while reading Perks. And sometimes when I just think about it, I cry a little.
Saving Francesca. I don't exactly remember where/why I cried, because I read it in 2009 for school, but it definitely wrenched at my heart. Also, The Fault In Our Stars, for obvious reasons.
Same here about The Book Thief, that book made me feel so close with characters in one way that I just didn't want to finish it or read the end. I love it so much.
I bawled during class while reading 'Where The Red Fern Grows'. It's such a beautiful story of a young boy and his two dogs. I recommend it even though it's an older book!
I cried the most at a book that no one has ever heard of - captain corelli's mandolin - I have read it twice and hysterically sobbed during and after reading. This book touched me like no other. I also cried over how bad the movie was.
The only Book that will always make me cry : *_New general mathematics_*

I was at work and I broke down and I kinda just laid there head down with tears going down... I don't usually cry..
Pugz I finished it in study hall, and I was sobbing. And everyone else was watching a movie. It just so happened when I started sobbing the movie was in a happy part. So everyone looked at me like I was crazy, and my friend had to bring me a tissue.
Sameee
Im so glad I didnt read it at school- I was quite litterly balling my eyes out
I made the mistake of reading the last 100 pages of The book thief on a friday night, during which I cried like a baby, and then immediately watching the movie right after, where I cried even more. It was a very emotional night.
Kite runner deserves to be in everyone's bookshelves I swear
If The Book Thief made you cry try reading The Kite Runner. It's a very similar setting and very similar feels but SO CRY WORTHY.
Chelsea Schuur Cheer up. It's only a book for Christ sakes!
Rayve Napsu ... you're kidding right? Not even worth it.
Chelsea Schuur SO GOOD and so true! (i haven't read the book thief yet. but Kite Runner got me so hard)
I cried harder in A Thousand Splendid Suns, a must read if you liked The Kit Runner.
Eleanor & Park! Bought it twice (ebook & hardcover), read it twice, cried a lot more than twice. Rainbow made magic with that book!!
Also Sara's Key!
The ending tho
Yeah ...?? Imran ..I expected a lot from Fangirl and now I don't wanna read anything by Rainbow Rowell :/
Ill Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson is honestly the best book ever and i cries 100 times while reading it
On my amazon wishlist
TheSoccerstar107 I agree 100% ! Favorite book ever!
All the bright places turned me in to a human water works.
India Knipe same. that's the only book that had made me cry for hours

Out of all the books I've read, I have never cried as much as when I read The Book Thief.
KPopCanadian the end of that book is so sad I caNT
KPopCanadian same. I had to read it for English. I was an emotional rollercoaster the whole way.
Same I cried for Rudy and Hansi 😭😭😭😭 and Rosa
I cried on almost every book I read.............that is until I noticed someone was holding a bowl of chopped onions near me whenever I read a book.
I read A Monster Calls in one sitting. I was at a coffee shop waiting for my friend to finish work and she was shocked when she arrived because I was crying alone...and in public.
Am I the only one who didn't cry in the fault in our stars?
Like I bawled my eyes out in the movie but not at all when I read the book
I somehow didn't cry reading or watching tfios, but looking for Alaska made me bawl my eyes out in the middle of the night...
+bellee2002 I didn't. But because there was a moment that It was too much...so much that It started to feel non realistic... Does it make sense?
I thought it was very boring and skipped through it, so I didn't cry
+Harley Quinn same! i didnt even finish it , it was that boring for me 😐
TBH the whole hunger game series makes me cry the hardest like the entire thing is so sad and so beautiful it gets me everytime
The Book Thief hit me hard as well. I was reading the last chunk of it while sitting in the living room with my husband and I had to get up and leave the room because I could not stop crying and I was afraid he was going to think I was having an emotional breakdown or something. I also had a good little cry during THAT part in The Knife of Never Letting Go (haven't read the rest of the series yet but now gearing myself up for it).
The Book Thief shouldn't be called the book thief, it should be called The Feels Thief.
Sarah Huddleston Heck yes
I cried so hard at that, damn.
i almost cried lol it was so sadddd
It is the best book I’ve ever read, just because it actually made me feel a lot of emotion
Ikr
You know its a good book when your sobbing on the train and inspire people around you to ask if youre okay

Same, girl!
Carli Smith i literally JUST finished that last night and cried aswell!
The saddest part for me wasn't even the main sad part!

The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay! The ending was just so beautiful and heartwarming that I couldn't help but bawl my eyes out :')
Oh yes, A Monster Calls. Deep down I knew how it was going to end, but I was still so hopeful. Dear god Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. I cried so. much. I read this for GCSE! We finished it in class so I had to stop myself crying!
I cried too! I think the book was just a masterpiece.
While you were talking about the book that made you cry "at 3 o'clock in the morning on a Saturday" I actually said out loud, "obviously The Book Thief" before you said it because that was also me. You're description of the emotional roller coaster was so accurate it hurt. 😂
LOL The Book Thief made me sob for hours at 3 AM too! And yes I also looked like a monster the next day. But it was totally worth it.
The ending of a thousand splendid suns by Khaled Hosseini split my soul in two and crushed it under its soles. It was such a bitter sweet ending.
Cassandra Clare and Sarah J. Maas put me through so many emotions I don't know how to live after I finish their books.
Quickfire412 Agreed! It seems those two authors just know how to ruin us 😅
Empire of Storms end.... I almost died.
Arantza Riquelme I was literally sobbing. My mom (who had just started reading ToG) walked in on me sobbing over EoS and literally looked terrified.
Quickfire412 SHE SHOULD BE TERRIFIED, IT'S JUST AWFUL WHAT SARAH DID WITH OUR FEELINGS :(
I think that books that make you cry are really worth reading. It's amazing when an author can bring that emotion out of you.
I cried in Mark of Athena just out of frustration and anger towards Rick Riordan.
FictionAdventures huehuehue same
FictionAdventures YESSSS AND I REREAD THE LAST FEW LINES OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND STILL CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED. :'(

Hazal Exo-L Iv'e been wanting to get to the part with augustus dying tho. That's really what made me pick up the book. I wanna see how author writers that out.
The Book Thief, a heart breaker. Cry worthy. I couldn't let go, and I can't now either.

I agree. One of my favorite books! :)
I actually wept towards the end 😭😭💔 Gosh I love that book
All those books are awesome! I cry a lot after reading A Monster Calls.

SPOILER ALERT (HARRY POTTER HALF BLOOD PRINCE)
I was a mess when Dumbledore died. It was like three in the morning and I was in the page before reading about Dumbledore's death and I thought I'll read this page and the next and I'll go to sleep (as I had school the next day.) I'm really curious about which part you cried at in Mockingjay. Please tell me? You could press enter a bunch of times before you say it so people have to click 'read more' to see it I REALLY WANT TO KNOW PLEASE
I think when Finnick died, not when Prim dies
Nora O'Neill don't spoil the free folk
Nora O'Neill oh man, that was the worst part.
I actually don't understand why more people cried for Prim than they did for Finnick
Nora O'Neill
*spoilers*
I didn't cry at either of those parts actually, I cried at the bit where Peeta is rescued but he despises and fears Katniss because in my opinion someone you love having a mental illness where they can't recognise you for the person you really are to them is worse than them dying, because you may never get closure.
I cried when Finnick died when Prim died oh the Feels!!!:/
Is it weird that Im now super motivated to read The Book Thief? I normally dont cry, but I cried while reading Perks. And sometimes when I just think about it, I cry a little.

I cried the most at a book that no one has ever heard of - captain corelli's mandolin - I have read it twice and hysterically sobbed during and after reading. This book touched me like no other. I also cried over how bad the movie was.
