Add a bit of F4/self fusing silicone tape. it comes in colors and will add an extra layer of protective holding power. I also would have used some plumbers Emory cloth to roughen up the surface to provide room for the glue as well as adhesive strength. Do not mean to but pick, but provide aid for others. As always great video, appreciate your videos very, very much. They have helped me a lot. Thank you
How good is vellator v2 riser....? How is your experience with it...? Nice matching stabilizer btw...
30 minute 2 part epoxy adhesive is your best bet for carbon to aluminium joints. Z-poxy works well but any decent quality aeromodelling epoxy will do it. Rough up both parts a bit & wipe down with alcohol to degrease first. It will be permanent..
Same thing for me, a 100 dollars complete stabilizer, unglued in the FOURTH shot. I tried many kinds of different glues (some strong recommended by experts), but nothing worked for me. I resolved finally to drill a hole (really hard task) and to put a screw and nut. Horrible, but worked it out
With the threads i use bow wax in my threads on field points and broadheads. May have to doit twice but then you are done.
Did the same with bow screws and bolts
I'ld like to unscrew the hexagon socket set screw UNF 5/16"-24 and swap it for a longer one with 2 inch length. I doubt whether I will succeed when trying.
Did someone ever try to do this?
Is the screw thread glued only or riveted through the hole from the side?
I took out the original centre stud ( 5/16 × 24 ) by heating up just enough to crack the seal on the original epoxy.
I then replaced the original with a
MUCH, MUCH, longer stud.
Now I never need a V-Bar ``i - bolt ´´.
I screw my long rod right through the V-Bar , directly into my 6 inch extender.
Rough up the glued surfaces with some sand paper . That green looks cool !
Loctite 222 is a very low strength holding adhesive. I use it on my modules. Loctite blue is too strong for aluminium.
Next time presuming it comes out again, try the 2 part epoxy glue
Yes, binary epoxy will hold it forever!
@ThaReal CLo 222 Is known as Loctite Purple .. Blue can be too strong and rip out threads in Aluminum hence... Loctitle Purple
Cute dog😊😊😊
Outsert?
Hi Steve, you could use your wifes nail polish on the threads to act like a locktite. The advantage with the nail polish it holds well and can be broken (unscewed) unlike loctite.
Lol true story. Champion
Epoxy. Use a little sand paper and then just get some strong two part epoxy.
I've used SF, Kaya, Doinker and Fuse stabliser's - I've never had to glue any of them back together, I'd rather pay for quality control.
i know it's kind of off topic but do anyone know a good website to stream newly released series online?
@Deacon Enoch Flixportal =)
@Uriel Aden thanks, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there =) I really appreciate it !
@Deacon Enoch You are welcome xD
I have for an SF
I find steel epoxy works great.. Takes 24 hours to cure but once it does it stays put..
Lol.. Im super picky.
I would have cleaned that up nice.
Then polish it with 1000 grit, then 2000, especially where the steel part stops on the carbon.
Then use insert glue and wipe it off with shop wipes.
Then polish the carbon again with 2000..
JB weld it'll never come out again
Buy cheap you get cheap
To be fair all the materials to make this stuff is pretty cheap... Its the marketing, quality control and having the right name sticker that costs the money.
Remember... Not everyone can afford top of the line $600 long rods, so cheap has to be there
@@sahhull People that think like you are rare. Thank you.
Your selling a poor quality product, with low tolerances..so heres a video which you feel mitigates you of all its short comings with fixes. However its clearly a low quality product and no amount of spin will cover over that fact. Its is a big thing that they come apart...its a clear sign of a poor product. No amount of spin "its not a big" will change that.
@ThaReal CLo Having the right name sticker on that $10 carbon tube instantly turns it into a $200 carbon tube.
@ThaReal CLo I don't see world cup level archer's using stuff that fall's apart.... when Brady Elison start's carrying super glue in his quiver.. .. .. .. .. when the Korean Olympic team start's using topoint I might take notice.. .. .. .. there are other less expensive brand's and yes I use those other less expensive brand's that don't fall apart and need to be glued back together..
@ThaReal CLo I have been using SF, Cartel and Krossen stab's for 4 year's on compound and recurve and I've never had a problem, I don't have a problem with budget friendly but I do have a problem with what is obviously "cheap" and Topoint seem's to be "obviously cheap".. We expect thing's to wear with use but to break while still new or with less than a year's worth of use ?
A guy in my club bought one of the cheap Chinese compound's and spent the next 12 month's constantly tuning the string's, replacing part's and having to make replacement part's, if he was one of those "rage monster youngster" he would have quite the sport in 3 month's, compare that to my first compound bow which I bought 2nd hand is the base line from a big name brand it's 6 year's old had thousands of arrow's put through it, it's still got the original factory string's and still shoot's arrow smacking groups. Quality doesn't necessarily = huge dollars but "cheap" is "cheap" no matter the price..
Marla's yapping is far tooo irritating to watch & relax with this video.
30yrs i have never had an extender or stabiliser fall apart...just sayin....
Love your videos, but man your dog is annoying.
@Darien Guy : Tip: Dont you ever buy or get a dog... They are all annoying but we who have dogs, love them anyway.
