best video. Thanks Han! I'm a Senior UX designer (from Nigeria, living in South Africa) who used to be a medical doctor. I'm apparently really good at UX design and am now working through an agency at Cell C. But I believe I need to master Graphic design to become a better all-round designer, especially for web, branding, packaging and UI design. If you would like to collaborate on any UX design projects, I'm your person. I'll definitely be following for more tips!
Very crisp and informative ! Thank you. I am kumar samuel from india art and painting i love since my childhood and at 50 + i am learning graphic designing. i will keep you posted for your tips.
I’m currently seriously thinking of a huge career change I’m currently in pharmacy and I HATE it this is literally every thing I need to hear thank you will be going going through your channel 🥰
Thanks for all the tips! That was a great video! I started my masters program in Graphic Design. Coming from interior design background, I am nervous getting into Graphic Design among fellow students that came from graphic design also. I am kind of a beginner in that field but I do know the basics of all Adobe programs. Wish me luck! I am excited for this new chapter but also nervous. Your video calmed me down a little . Thank you
I love this video, it is so practical and objective! You clarified so many doubts I had about how to start, and what to study since I started to study by myself. Thank you very much!
Good question! When you export a PDF from InDesign, you can either choose ‘pages’ or ‘spreads’. Pages means it will show only 1 page at a time (think of a PowerPoint presentation). Spreads means it will show 2 pages at a time (like a book or magazine with a left and right page). Although spreads can look very cool, for a digital presentation, pages is MUCH easier to read 😃 I hope this helps!
Valuable and knowledgeable video!!! Thank you so much. I am currently learning graphic design and want to work in an agency so can you please make a video on "All about agencies ( how to find a job in an agency, the requirements, salary expectations, and of course your own personal experience working with an agency)". I am struggling to find the details related to the agency and even which website is best to find a job in an agency.
Thank you for sharing your stand on the internship matter. I'm currently studying a bachellor in Digital Graphic Design, I graduate next year, and I wasn't sure if to take an internship. But now I want to give it a try after hearing your take. 😊
This is very helpful Hanselah! I was always procrastinating learning how to be a GD because I don't know where to start and I have a lot of questions in mind. You perfectly outlined and organized the step-by-step process to become one. It really takes drive, hard work and commitment to this. I'm excited to take a step again in this journey. Thank you for this video!
I connect my monitor to my Macbook Pro via USB-C (this way it charges my Macbook Pro while I am using it) and then I connect my mouse and keyboard via bluetooth to my Macbook Pro. Hope this helps!
This is so valueable video for me this video gave me clarity about graphic designing and i am thankful of You pls make such types of videos like this and pls share your tutorial also when you work for a client so we can understand how to understand the project of client this, more helpfull btw love from india.

Fantastic video! Been toying with the idea of teaching myself and the universe put this video into my feed. The time has come to be proactive. Please could you let me know the title of that book of colours you held up.

This video is great resource for me thank you so much for your time and effort. Please we will enlightened if you make a video on types of graphic design
This was awesome thank you! If I could go back in time I would have done formal training in graphic design instead of marketing. But hey let us make lemonade out of lemons. I am self-taught and looking to start a full-time career as a graphic designer. This was very helpful thank you very much!😊
@@jasmeen9857 Hi Jasmeen I started buying courses on line, also looked up free courses and also did a course with the New York School of Design. Hope that helps.
I mentioned in the video what I use and what I recommend for your computer setup. But to run your programs effectively, I suggest having at least 8gb RAM (preferably 16gb though) but don't go below 8gb otherwise you will struggle a lot. The screen size is completely up to your personal preference and whether you prefer a smaller or larger screen. In terms of CPU and GPU, it depends on what type of programs you will be running. But I suggest focussing more on the GPU than CPU (just because our software is very graphic heavy). The actual storage on your machine depends on how you store your files. I have 1TB internal storage but I always transfer my files to my external SSD and upload to Google Drive so my machine runs quickly. So you can work with 512gb internal storage and be fine (as long as you are constantly transferring your files otherwise that will fill up quickly). Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Amazing video full of good information , thank you!. Also i like how passionate you are about what you do , here you go you have a new subscriber to your channel 🙂👌
Do you recommend majoring in graphic design, the arts, or being undecided our first year in 49ers college? I’m pretty interested in learning graphic design but I’m not definitely sure if it’s what I wanna do. Also what if we feel like sometimes we aren’t artistic/imaginative enough. For example, I’m in yearbook and my teacher is saying she thinks we need a more creative approach to the academic pages but I’ve never been able to think of something new first that
As graphic designers, we do need to be able to think beyond the norm. Thinking conceptually can be difficult at first but with practice, you can do it! Start by creating moodboards and brainstorming ideas and words. It helps a lot! 😃
I have a question, if im planning to study architecture would it be helpful to start from graphic design? Cause im at a point in life where i cant choose which one is better for me
Interesting you never mention anything about design for print, which is the weakness for a lot of designer. They don't have any idea the behavior of colors when applied to different substrate, and that is why they have a hard time getting the color right.
This is such a good point! I think I should create a video all about print design as it is quite a large topic to cover. Including preparing files for print, colour modes, file types etc..
You said that in your first year of college, graphic design was only done with paper and pen, nothing on a desktop. Please tell me what you learned in the first year?Actually, I don't have a laptop right now, it's still a bit late to get a laptop. I want to be a graphic designer. I don't want to waste this time so if you can help me how to practice graphic design without computer it will be very helpful
Hi! We did a lot of research and ideation, studying the history of graphic design, learning different fonts and how typography is made, we also did hand drawn things (like scamps, sketches, using a photocopier to enlarge designs), we also did photography and figure drawing. It was mainly focusing on drawing skills and drawing techniques and understanding the strategy behind graphic design decisions and principles. It was lots of drawing, collage, composition and breaking down the reasons behind why we do things as graphic designers. I hope this helps!
