Have had this watch for more than 2 yrs now & recently, i changed out the crystal for a double dome with dual AR coated crystal & my oh my, that dial ‘pops’ even more now than before. I have a samurai with a similar dial & i changed out the crystal on that as well….these 2 watches will stay permanently in my collection. To say the dial is stunning is a gross understatement!

I ordered the SRPE33 (Samurai version) recently, and I've just been growing so impatient I had to come and look at some more videos of this dial. I already have the SPRD21, so I figured I'd change it up with the Samurai case instead of the Turtle... but part of me wants both now :\
I know this is a very personal taste, but to me, this is the nicest looking dial I've yet to come accross on any watch. I work in picture framing and I get to see a good amount of artwork, and the Manta Ray dial looks like a real piece of art with brush strokes. I already thought the SRPD21 was one of the best looking dials... but this is just on another level!
The Save the Ocean series has really nailed it for me. Big time!

Beautiful watch. I own the first save the ocean version of the turtle and i really like this one. Saphire and ceramic bezel are amazing on it.

Absolutely stunning watch. I purchased last week after finding a website selling with 20% off coupon (saving £110). An absolute steel at £440. I already own a few Turtles so nice to be able to quickly swap bracelets (I have a strapcode that adds a bit of weight) and it also looks mint on official Sieko silicon Diver. I've had a few comments from friends about the stunning dial 'popping' in the Sun. It looks far more premium than the price point (ceramic bezle and sapphire crystal help... About time Sieko😉). I actually like the cyclops as it makes it standout from normal Turtle. I'm sure people could have them removed or get it modded if it bothers them that much. Great initial review👍

That's about the price it should be. I love the look of this watch but it is not worth £250 than what I paid for my Save the Whale Turtle.
I was thinking about getting the king turtle white shark version, but after seeing this dial, it just make me go nuts ! Can't make up my mind for either one which both of them are absolute gorgeous ! 😍
You can't go wrong with either of them to be fair. Let me know which you go for 👍🏻
If I can offer a thought, maybe to help make up your mind. While these Save the Ocean watches are not Limited Editions.. they are Special Editions and they don't produce for a very long time... so if you would like the Great White Edition, I would suggest picking that one up first, because that was the 2019 edition, which at some point you will have trouble finding. The Manta Ray edition is the 2020, so you are still good for maybe a year or two. While you can still find the 2018 edition with the lines from a whale, it is starting to become harder to get.
I have the SRPD21 (Great White Shark with Turtle case) and it is pretty incredible. It might only be Hardlex instead of Sapphire... but keep in mind these are sports watches and, technically, hardlex/mineral is better against shattering than sapphire.
Also, a detail many don't seem to catch with the SRPD21 is the bezel insert... did you notice that the bezel insert for the Turtle Great White Shark has grooves like a vinyl record? The markings are not printed, but etched/inlaid into the aluminium insert. It is hard to catch in the photos (especially the Seiko stock photos that really suck)... but the effect in sunlight is really unique, and it is actually pretty unique to that model (from what I have seen, please corect me if I am wrong).
I was also in a little bit of a dilemna like you about these watches.. so I decided I would start my own Save the Ocean collection. It will take the time it needs to, I'm not wealthy by any stretch, but these are worth any effort or extra work to get.

@@GODSPEEDseven I appreciate your opinion man, wise word comes from a wise man. I actually didn't realise the white shark was the 2019 model. I do notice the groove on the bezel and figured that it's a cool combination for the dial as well.
Then, i actually got confused because of the different bezel colour from the 2019 & 2020 white shark model, and somehow i discovered this manta ray version and fell in love with it 😂
However, as you said, its pretty much hard to find that particular model around and i admit, i do get a little frustrated searching for it. I've seen the manta in person, man the dial alone just blows me away !
Now i need to see the shark in person to make up my mind. But despite the shark is really hard to find in store where i live just makes this process whole lot harder.
I might opt for the manta in the end due to the availability of it 😂

I was lucky, because one online retailer in my region had many of these special and limited editions.
It can be a little confusing, because the Great White Shark edition comes in the Samurai, Monster and Turtle cases, but also the King version of Turtle and Samurai. So the king version as some minor differences, like cyclops and different bezel texture. I do not have the King, but the normal Great White Shark Turtle. It was a little cheaper too, so I was good with that.
Anyways, whatever version you get, I am certain it is the right choice! 😎
They are pretty special dials and even the differences in color tones is interesting. I enjoy the fact there is variety for all tastes in these dials.
At least, if you can pick it up near you, you have the advantage of seeing the dial and making certain everything is aligned perfectly to your standards, so that is always a wise choice as well!!

This dial is absolutely stunning, I love the great white dial but this is even better. Bit of a pity they didn't do something different with the bezel like on the great white. Both will definitely be highly sought after by Seiko collectors.
The dials are some of the best out there. I have the Great White too so will try to compare in the follow up video. Worth having both in the collection!
@@TheLumeRoom I agree 100%, Seiko do a lot of average work with dials but these are outstanding. I also love the red special dial but that watch is much more expensive. I own the turtle great white but am looking at the samurai Manta. Both case types wear so well.

I bought the srpe07k1. Only $370.
I have the Samurai version of this dial, srpe33k1. Only $400. $30 more for the bracelet. The k models, made by seiko factory in my country is so cheap here. Both of mine have perfect alignment too. Definitely not inferior to the J models.

Great watch and worth the money, I don't regret buying it, but I have to mention the down-sides which are driving me crazy and the first one might drive me away from ever buying a Prospex again:
1. Adjusting the bracelet is a nightmare. Collar and pin bracelet... almost performed a hara-kiri on myself.
2. The bezel is stiff, probably because it has a rubber ring inside and that's good, but it has some backplay. Maybe I'm spoiled with Aragon bezels which are best on the market (any market), but this is really unsatisfying for me. But this is a minor thing
Fair points. I think the bezel is pretty good. Not the best, not the worst. I mostly just change the OEM bracelets straight away. Enjoy the watch 👍🏻
I love the bezel action on this model as well as other Seikos. I own a BB58, SMP300, and Aquis date which are all highly praised for their bezel action. I kinda prefer the Seiko bezel action that has a mechanical yet springy feel to it.

I bought the white dialled king samurai but had it return it due to a terrible screw down crown. I’m pretty disappointed as I waited a long time for it but I’ve seen a few videos of the sto version and I’m really considering this in the Samurai instead of the white dial. Not sure if it just looks so good in the video or does it really look so gorgeous in person?

I don't think they make real Seiko's in China(?) Usually the JDM models are the most sought after. Always buy through a trusted seller

This one because the dial and bezel go perfectly. The 1st edition 'Great White' looked better than the "upgraded" versions.

I’m in the same boat, I have the JC and love the look of the Manta Ray but feel like if I had one on I’d feel like someone with a Porsche GT3 taking their Volkswagen GTI out for a spin: both motors outstanding in their own way but once you’ve had a taste of the power of the GT3 anything else feels subpower. Great videos really enjoy this channel

Love the turtle shape, love the dial,love the ceramic and the sapphire features and really love the lume and the hands.im looking for a seiko rubber to replace the bracelet and maybe put a different sapphire crystal to get rid of the cyclops...
