13:45 -- too lazy to run thru the comments to see if anybody else already picked up on this: "I could start investing in this volcano expedition....... but that might blow up in my face". Rahdo, buddy, you're a gem. Thumbs up for that one alone!
Man you are so damn good explaining the gamess, thanks to you I already order Jaipur and Lost cites¡¡ recommend me more im thinking Roll for the galaxy God bless you man love from México
At 25:20 - the entire diorama doesn't have to be played to win that 20-point bonus, just any 8 cards of the expedition; and "investment" cards are included! So Jen was just 2 cards away from the bonus on her yellow expedition.
We always mix up the yellow and white space on the board too! I think it's because of the yellow kind of aged effect they are trying to put on the maps.
He made that mistake a few times. He would count up the cards, and think of doubling them BEFORE subtracting from 20. I dont own the game, but I had the impression you subtract from 20 first, and then double, etc. Mathematically that is different.
I've got this arriving tomorrow for me birfday as an 'accident' as I was expecting the Lost Cities board game but this was ordered out of confusion. Which version of this game is better: The "card game" or the "board game"?
rahdo Okay. I did some research and consensus seems to be this is superior as the board game is stated a number of times to be "fiddly". I guess there's some role playing and someone gets to be Nero?

... and Jenn just smiles.
Nice atmosphere builder. Just got this in the mail today👍
I love how you get really competitive against yourself. I wish we would get to see who wins :)
Simple, ultra clever. This and Arboretum have become highly loved 2-player games for us (3/4p arboretum is awesome too)

noted... thank you
loving this 2 player game. One for me and the wife knowing she will enjoy this.

At 8:30 adding the 2nd investment card makes it -60, not -40.
it was already noted... thanks :)
I really think Jen would discard the blue wager instead of playing the 3rd yellow wager at 10:00
Great runthrough, nice Dutch version ;) on the wishlist
Reminds me of Tramban, one of my favourite 2 player card games.
[19:34] 3 sir, 3!
Wait, if she only has ten points in cards wouldn't that still be -10? So doubling it would be -20 not a positive expedition?
timestamp please

Yep you apply investment modifiers, after subtracting the initial 20.
The 8 card bonus points of 20....does that include wager cards in the 8 or only numerical cards in that particular expedition?
sorryit's been so many years since i filmed this, i don't remember the specifics of the situation
archaeology sure is expensive, 20 points for a new expedition.
Wish my lost cities cards still looked that good! Mine are beat to hell because we've played it so much 😂
that just means they look well loved :)

never tried the board game, so i couldn't say

Are you Dutch or did you just get the Dutch version?
Can't really hear any accent, so I'd guess the second :p
ik ben geen nederlands :)
I thought as much ;)
Definately thinking about getting this game; seems like a must-have in the two player line-up!
Not really a goof, but something that has always annoyed me with this game... he put the gold investment card in the white slot! (about 6:00)
Oh, he fixes it later.
Awesome video
On my list!!!
Do you think Jen actually exists?
faq.rahdo.com question #1
She does. She's been in quite a few of his videos either playing a game or recording something that they're showcasing(Ie a board game table).
She's invisible. Duh
Who won???????
we'll never know!
Rahdo you must play Talisman: Magic & Sword Please :)
sorry very unlikely to happen
+rahdo :'(
한국사람 없어요?????
A boring game ....
Rahdo ran through the lost cities after they were found. Actually is the one who found the cities so he was able to run through them. 🥷
