11:35 The former guaranteed match spawn in this house was removed with the first DLC update. The store at Thompson's Crossing always has matches somewhere in it.

Always check the porch at Draft Dodger's for a hacksaw.

10:10 The only thing I've noticed that's missing is the guaranteed can opener.

42:54 You could be cooking three more potatoes at the same time on the empty cooking slots.

I feel like I tried to cook potatoes directly on the stove recently and it didn’t work. It was requiring a cooking pot or skillet. I’ll have to double check that.

      It's definitely not required.

To answer your question on the hammer, yes. I've found it in the out buildings, bottom floor, on the bottom shelf under the tool box.
My main question for you is, why are you headed to Ash Canyon vs a forge? You've got a heavy hammer, why not attempt to find metal and get some protection.

Ahh great question. I knew we weren’t going to last long and I never intended that run to be established,. More like a first look, let’s goof around and learn some stuff. I felt like opportunity was there to see/learn another party of the map.

@@InfaMoose1107 Touche. I did kinda laugh to myself when you went into the coal mine headed to Coastal Highway. Still North, but North East vs North West where TWM and Ash Canyon are lol. Although at the end, when you were near the bridge over a frozen creek, you went up the side of the map. That creek you bypassed has the only cat tails in the region. It does lead you right past a bear den and right through the bears territory. But it also leads you up to the train tracks, a bed and the way out of the region. Also, I don't know if the cabin was burned down, but you were probably 200 yards from shelter. Don't know if it would be warm, but it could have been.
Great look at the new mode. I hope you're really enjoying the new update.

@fatmarlin4674 I have some fun ideas for the cheat death system and I definitely want to do a more serious run on Misery mode. I also would like to see if the misery mode settings were added to custom, because there could be some fun stuff there too as well. I did not get to experience the Cougar, which is fine I really wasn’t a fan of the execution there. It sounds like it’s being reworked. I think my biggest focus needs to be learning the maps. Thinking about doing a deep dive series into each region on a lower difficulty, to both learn and maybe help other who want to learn them. I hope you’re enjoying the longer vids. I’m thinking maybe 2 hours is a bit lengthy, sweet spot may be and hour 30 but we’ll see.

@@InfaMoose1107 I seriously suggest 5 to 10 days in every region on Pilgrim. You don't have to worry about the predators, matches or hunting. There's so much loot you'll be overwhelmed. Blizzards will still kill you but pick a region you want to learn, start there, explore until you've got a good idea of where things are and then move on. It's a long time to spend, but the 800 days I spent in Voyager learning the game and trying to survive really paid off when I moved to loper. I skipped stalker, kinda. Participated in a kill challenge presented on the forum and stalker was a cake walk. I killed so many wolves with a knife it wasn't funny. What really set me off to loper was going to Bleak Inlet and I decimated the timber wolf packs like it was nothing. I basically beat them into a pulp and it was that moment I knew I was ready to move to loper.
I really like the longer videos. Even if they take me a few days to get through. Gives me something I look forward to watching after work. I know they aren't easy to produce and I appreciate the efforts you're putting into the quality content.

That is more or less what I was considering. A voyager run were we map out all the nooks and crannies of a regions and do a deep dive into the navigating the areas. Start in one location and eventually work my way through all of them. Figured it would teach the regions, I could unlock a bunch of feats too and I could practice my hunting.

anybody figured out the best strategy for this ? I guess there are two options,
head to TWM and try for the fuselage loot.
head to coastal town for indoors loot.
TWM seems more lucrative cause indoor loot seems pretty dismal. But it is also more difficult, it is very cold and there is very little to wear.
looting the plane crash site in PV helps on the way to TWM.
Biggest challenge, still not found a bedroll lol.

I haven't had another chance to play since this video. Coastal highway didn't seem worth it to me. I'm curious to see TWM. I did see another youtuber head to Mystery Lake & there was a bedroll there.

@@InfaMoose1107 I see. What triggered me to do TWM is that I found a hacksaw in the car in front of the farmstead. I guess you didnt check it in this run. I wonder if its random. its on the back seat.

@@InfaMoose1107 I personally like the DLC tales. I'm a big lore junky. I want to know what happened to cause the complete collapse. It's the aurora part of Rudigers gadget, is it just an unlucky region of the world slammed by CME from the sun. What is the gadget, what the hell was it's purpose.
But so far Hinterland has done a great job of being specific and non-specific all at once. I think we will get more questions than answers like the other tales and hopefully a way to connect it all with episode 5 of Wintermute.

@fatmarlin4674 Would be great for it to tie all together. On the Interloper run I was able to play with one of the computer during the Aurora. It was really neat what they did. Makes me one to start doing the dlc stuff.
