1977 Porsche 911 turbo: LED Euro Headlight Retrofit [4K] Ep69

One of the first things I want to do is install the headlights. I received them in great shape and the best way to protect them would be to install them on the car. I painted the trim ring, converted the H4 bulb to LED and had some fitment problems typical with aftermarket headlamps. The car sure looks better now.

Nice video. Just bought a 1982 911 SC in GP White. Car had tons of chips all over most down to the galavanized coating with a few surface rust areas. Doing paint touch up and noticed a spot on the edge of the driver's headlight ring on the fender. Not suprsised when I took it off of course it was a bit worse. Just sanding to metal and brush touching to protect the areas so its not going to be perfect. A few other areas need attention one in the corner of the back front fenders under the frunk seal. The overall single stage paint condition is not so good and wearing thin in many areas but is 5 -10 feet away presentable. The car is 98% rust free and my goal is to get it five feet acceptable for a the first few years so I can enjoy it and then maybe a respray. It's a sobering and unique experience having to pony up the kings of money for these old cars and then need to do work on it but to afford an SC coupe being retired, I had to buy on the low end...which is still crazy high but I stop complaining a bit when I see the same SC coupes all be it sorted, selling for over 70k on BaT.

Me- So that’s what those 4 tabs are for on the inside of my 77’ 911!! (The car is a euro spec, dad imported it himself in 1981).

Yes those tabs are for USA lights. I had to trim a bit to get the 9haus light to fit. Thanks for watching!

The LED chip technology sure has gotten better over the years. Now that they don't have cooling fans and just a heatsink makes them reliable over time.

Led put out more light but scattered all over. You dont really get a formed pattern

That is what a standard non-projector halogen lens is supposed to do. I have driven this at night and the light is great from this setup. Thanks for watching!

@@afternoongarage I think it has to do with the bulb. There are different LED designed H4 bulbs
