Rode SmartLav+ V. Sony ECMCS3 V. Purple Panda Lav Kit

Consumer decision making process is complex or simple depending upon how involved the consumer is with the product category. Although the price of the Lav Mics would suggest that this is a low involvement product I am highly interested in the product category so did spend more time during the information search, and evaluation of alternative stages. This is a very very simple example with only two evaluative criteria of Price and Noise reduction. Also since I am a novice to the product category I did not even know what I should look for in the product apart from brand and price.
I compared the Rode SmartLav+ which cost upwards of 65 dollars to two cheaper options - Sony ECMCS3 and the Purple Panda both of which were less and 20 dollars.

Great video, very interesting and useful to hear these Microphones under different conditions. I bought a Sennheiser XS Lav but I'm not impressed with it and have ordered the Sony ECM-LV1 which is a black version of the one in your video but also comes with a foam filter. I also have a Zoom H1N which the Sony mics work directly without using annoying adapters.
