That’s awesome. So glad. Screaming without knowing how to properly do it can damage the voice. I wish you all the best in the competition. Your song is so unique and fascinating.
Not a singer, just a listener, but I had no doubts that the screaming was live and that it was done with proper screaming technique. Will vote for you in the Semi1 from the UK 🖤
I'm so proud of Ireland giving Bambie the opportunity to show what talent we have on this island. Most of our big artist did not make it where they are by playing safe. I do wish though that RTE, the television station that hosted this had better sound mixing. Excited to see this on the big stage with bigger production and fine tuning.
Norwegian here do you really like this? This only makes me sad because she sings sour(not even talking about the screaming) I know it has been a few bad years for you with puppets and so. But you can do so much better than this it all feels kind of desperat and not worthy one of the giants in Eurovision
I see this going to the Final 100%. There will be people who hate it, but there will also be hardcore fans who love it and are definitely voting. That's wa-ay better than having an OK song that everyone kinda likes but no one will vote for.
When I tell you I was WAITING for this one 😂❤ I personally find the song great and unique, and the performance has really elevated it for me 🙂 Ireland is back in the game!
Get with it Georgina; this is epic - the more you indulge the more you’ll appreciate it; at Eurovision this is going to slay!! Top 10 for sure!!!! It’s awesome… creative, dynamic, experimental, and definitely original - well done Ireland; Bambie Thug is great!!!! 😎❣️👍🏼
There are actually a lot of nice Celtic elements in the song and performance. Their dress is a dark version of an Irish dancing dress and the symbols on the backing dancers and the walls is ancient Irish writing called Ogham. As for the song itself, the more screeching part of the vocals seems inspired by traditional Irish keening music which is the style used by the Cranberries in the song Zombie.
The Irish dancing inspired dress is also a nice touch because Irelands most famous time hosting the Eurovision was in the 90s when the River Dance premiered live and became one of the most famous dancing groups in the world.
It's awful, there is nothing authentically celtic or pagan. Bambie is just being as outrageous as possible for attention rather than focusing on quality singing or songwriting
I love it so different from the cheesy predictable norms that normally frequent Eurovision, it’s been in head all day… Keep watching it’s got an amazing hook ..
Celtic symbolisms everywhere in this production Georgina, Banshees, white witchcraft/ are all part of Irish mythology and Culture …the screams were live, and her performance was amazing in a tiny studio…this is astonishingly good! 12 pts from Switzerland 🪩🔥🪩🇨🇭
The laziest celtic symbolism I've ever seen. Obviously hasn't a clue about actual Irish culture or folklore and just turning out trash. Trying too hard to be manson and evanescence
Let me tell you, I am so after weird this year after watching that performance. I actually love it! Wasnt expecting to but it kept my attention the whole time and completely sucked me in. I think its absolutely fantastic. And their voice works with all the genres in the song.
This is pure artistry and I love it beyond words!🖤✨️🌙⛧ Being a part of the Gothic scene for decades, I feel deeply touched by having a voice speaking up for all of us dark souls, alternative minds and also for queer people who absolutely need representation! Many people watching Eurovision 2024 will be as surprised and shocked as you are, but this is what will make them vote for Bambie like crazy!🔥 And if you ask me, they deserve it because they are not only a boundless and transcendental artist, but also a beautiful soul and heartwarming human being. Let's do this, Ireland - I'm with you!🖤✨️🌙
They really do seem like a wonderful person in interviews 🙂 I think the song is just so different for those who aren't part of that world, it is quite confusing. (myself included) I think I will grow to appreciate it more as the season progresses. What I love about Eurovision is getting exposed to different styles, languages and cultures. You never know what to expect.
This was my favorite of the songs going in, and I think Bambie nailed the performance. I'm so happy Ireland sent them to Eurovision! I can't wait to see what they do on the big stage.
It's genius, artistically brilliant. I loved the fact that you didn't know what was going to happen next. They call the music genre ouja pop. There are so many layers to it - the meaning, if you look at some of the actual lyrics. On one level, you'd think they were casting a spell but there is so much more to it. Those blue parts, I took to be about a toxic relationship, heartbreak, the deceit/betrayal and the anguish. The first line in the chorus is 'I, I, I know you're living a lie', someone hiding behind a facade. Those softer moments are quite melancholy, that their love is unreturned and their lover would prefer a star rather than the moon. Then you have the bridge where they use red lights. Red is for love, romance, passion. There is an outpouring of emotion, that they would do absolutely anything for romance even though it is emotionally draining but to their lover, their feelings are just another shade of blue - ignored. To me the screaming at the end is the intense pain they are feeling. This is just my interpretation.
It's all about irony, in name of artist...bambi opposite thug, dance styles ...rage opposite pretty, screaming vocals opposite soft....genius☘️🤔😬 It's a reflection of our times, the polarized society we live it. Ireland is changing. Very current.
The screams were 100% live I promise you. Give it a chance Georgina please. I loved it so much from the moment I heard the studio cut and hearing Bambie live and seeing they're vision for the stage show blew me away. I'm so proud of them. It's actually really good lyrically too. Hope you are keeping good x 🇮🇪 ❤
Ireland really wanted something different out of the box this year and this really suits perfect,we are all sick of getting nowhere with normal singers and songs 💚
The screams at the end are definitely live, ontop of the melodic repeating of "bluee" in the track. I think they sounded very strong and controlled actually, but they could be quite damaging thats true. I suppose the benefit of it being Eurovision is its really just 2 main performances haha, so not too much strain on the voice
Bambis vocal was 100% live entirely - there are backing vocals only in the backing track. Metal is a genre and screaming is a learned technique that takes mad crazy skills. A lot of people sing like this every night at their gigs - if you warm up and have the technique you are safe...they sang it perfectly and transitioned to 2/ 3 genres and styles of singing. The songwriting chops on this song is so intelligent 👌 It's theatre, its pop its metal it's wild, everyone is talking about it irregardless - genius marketing ❤
I LIVE, but then I've always loved weird and alternative. To me it feels like a Tim Burton take on a Grimm fairytale with shades of early Marilyn Manson meets Kate Bush all rolled into one and filtered through a unique Bambi Thug filter. They're awesome!
@hottramp "SNAP" I used the exact same words to my husband 2 days ago, Marilyn Manson meets the awesome Kate Bush, her performance was very Kate Bushy! Cheers HT, love from Ireland
If Ireland doesn't qualify with this entry, I will be speechless and lose all hope, as this is so uniquely different to what we have ever sent before! It has to qualify!
At the moment this is the most interesting and innovative song already selected for ESC, I am quite confident it will be shown quite improved at Malmo, and will be fascinating.
You misjudged when ypu said they were short of breath. The raspiness is a trapping. Its a vibe. But, what do we know, we arent vocal coaches. And, it was live? No worries mate
"I really don't know what to say" : same reaction here. I put it separately from the others when I started ranking this year's entries, because I can't decide if I love it or don't care about it. Points for the voice and the originality though !
i love it be honest. So unique and theatre style. Im slavic, dont know much about celtic culture, but looks like witch/prediction and i love it. That dancers have celtic runes on their bodies. Dont know i love it :D
Thank you Ireland for introducing us to Bambie Thug. Watch it multiple times it will grow on you. This song is so amazing and unique! My top pick so far for ESC 2024! Cannot wait to see what the staging will look like! If you dig this, check out Bambie’s song Tsunami 11:11. It’s amazing as well!
Whatever happens, it’s good to have variety in the content and this definitely brings something different that will get people talking. After all, Ireland has not succeeded in recent years with safe songs so why not this. 🇮🇪
As an Irish man, I’m totally biased and would love Ireland to win again. We have the all time record for the most wins at 7, but Sweden is at 6 and is on a very successful trend currently, while Ireland hasn’t won in about 25 yeass
This song will include more people in all societies, awaken up more people because the world is sick and we live on a lie in matrix 3D world and she also illustrates inner deamons, personel issues and tell about the bright side of life. A masterpiece with Avada Kadavra from Harry Potter. Love from Denmark ❤❤❤ Yes Doomsday in all World coming and Away from the děpştatə and ego death inside out ourselves and more high frequensies to light and love
Bambi has a musical theatre background. If you look at it through that lens, it may become clearer what we have here. Basically a 3 minute Tim Burton/ Rocky Horror performance. She was limited in the Late Show studio. This is likely to be elevated in Eurovision and could capture people’s imagination.
This is on my top 5 with the video clip, this live performance has to improve a lot (Even because on that stage she couldn't do much). But I think it will because It is a bigger stage in Sweden and the video clip shows that she have a lot of great ideas.
I absolutely LOVE your first reaction to this. It's exactly as my first impression was.... But after listening to it more, I am LOVING it.... It's totally out there and is complete theatre... After learning the lyrics, which are absolutely brilliant I love it even more. Just a point where you thought there wasn't any Celtic vibes... All the backround script is actually ancient Irish script.... Also a nod to Hallow'een which of course Hallow'een originated in Ireland as Samhain.... I found a channel yesterday that I think explains so well about the meaning of this song... Have a look... I think Ireland deserves credit for breaking out of the box. Bambi Thug has I think, I love that they have got us talking... Love or hate the entry , it's not another Boyband! lol. ua-cam.com/video/Amrt_4hs61A/v-deo.html
Every music has its own way of expressing various things. In addition, this song might have a "devil" like appearance but the lyrics don't have that message at all. This song prob talks about a break up and depression (correct me if I'm wrong) but not for bad spirits etc. I mean, other song were as good, but this was different. I think you'll be on the top 5!!!
I love Bambie as an artist. They are definitely unique! However for me this song feels like the longest three minutes of my life 😂 the switching between the genres of metal and soft pop makes it feel like the song lacks cohesion. But I definitely want this in the final! And if they can throw some money at this performance it could be fire in Malmo 🔥 If you have a chance I recommend listening to their song titled Tsunami (11:11) because in my personal opinion it’s a great representation of what Bambi could bring! Loved the video ❤
I love that this song has gotten everyone talking. Lots of people acting confused about it now but by the time Eurovision comes around and people have listened to it enough I'm certain it'll be very popular, at least with the Eurovision regulars
Last year, Ireland didn't take a risk. The last 20 years has seen very few risks from Ireland and so when people were chanting 'Bambie, Bambie!' at the end and the in studio panel actually got the memo with a Eurovision crowd at home, you can tell the right buttons were pressed for the first time in forever. This is what Ireland needs to take a risk and Bambie is the person to do it. They have great vocals, dancing, stage presence and lighting with great staging concepts that can obviously be expanded at Eurovision. My winner! I've never been prouder to be half Irish! It's time to send something not generic!
"Can't see it getting to the Final ..." But that's where many might disagree. With ESC you can't actively downvote songs you dislike. On the flipside, votes will positively come in from many directions, people wanting to congrat Ireland for ditching formulaic songs, people feeling the Goth in themselves, plus the disenfranchised Alt and pagan votes. Big ups for Bambi, and good luck to them, from this 60s straight guy !
The Spotify version is better vocally than this live performance. But yeah…. It’s quite… unique??? It’s quite a 180 from our past performances!😅😂🤷🏻♂️❤️🇮🇪
I totally understand the confusion as theres a lot to take in in the first listen. It takes about 5 listens to really start to appreciate the unique nuances and qualities that separate this song from all the others this year. Personally i dont care for rock/metal music and neither do i care for the occult (to each their own), but theres so much here to borrow off and really build around when it comes to conceptual staging. Love the 'dream' and the 'nightmare' concept that she used for the stage in Ireland (not sure if that was intentional). And her vocals are very interesting. It started out as the biggest WTF when i heard it, and at the time i didnt like it. Since then, ive listened to all the other songs and in comparison this is so unique, and im really enjoying it now. Its slowly crept up my rankings to almost touching my top 10. I hope nothing more than for Ireland to qualify. Bambie Thug has really shaken things up in Ireland!
There is a ton of Irish Celtic representation in this, don't forget Ireland birthed Halloween, the first Irish alphabet is shown on the screen behind them, dark Irish dance dress, this is so awesome and beautiful, it's art and a performance, they didn't want one genre, no boxes, this is so brave and I LOVE it.
Also aong is about feeling under appreciated in relationships and in society and her frustration and sadness about it. I always loved anything spooky, magical, different. As z 42 year old my fave film as a teenager was the craft, charmed, i love harry potter, i love ghost podcasts... Love the theatre of it. Givd it another go. Also, my favourite bands of all time are take that and steps🤣🤣 and i love this.
This is fantastic. It's unique and will definitely stand out in Malmö. Sometimes (especially with the public) you have to be different and unique to stand out! This is my favourite entry so far! This will definitely qualify and will probably get a good result in the final as well! Well done rté for taking a risk!
I agree with you on final part, I think she should put screaming in the backing track and sing "blue, blue, blue...", for the sake of her voice at least. I liked that witchy laughing tho.
So this song is about witchcraft which is actually engrained in Irish folklore and tradition. To me this is about a witch on her day of judgement or doomsday. ☺️
it's live screaming and it doesn't hurt because I have a scream coach
That’s awesome. So glad. Screaming without knowing how to properly do it can damage the voice. I wish you all the best in the competition. Your song is so unique and fascinating.

I'm so glad i grew up on 80's 90's music...
It's a fascinating crazy song and performance. Better staging and camera work definitely required
About time we sent something different. Gwan Bambie!! 🇮🇪🖤
this is so funny, how confused coach gets 😂 the power of Bambie Thug, even if you don't get it at first, you cannot deny there is something there 🥰
At least she’s not boring! It’s nice it’s different it’s unusual
Interesting and orignal - more than sweden last year 😊
I love Ireland for choosing Bambie 🎉
I love Bambie as an artist. They are definitely unique! However for me this song feels like the longest three minutes of my life 😂 the switching between the genres of metal and soft pop makes it feel like the song lacks cohesion. But I definitely want this in the final! And if they can throw some money at this performance it could be fire in Malmo 🔥
If you have a chance I recommend listening to their song titled Tsunami (11:11) because in my personal opinion it’s a great representation of what Bambi could bring!
Loved the video ❤
It's live screaming alright, you got to know what you're doing, and they do! :)
All live, I was there, Its a Rock Scream! haha and yes the production has a lot of Celtic mythology, witchcraft and banshee elements!
Ireland is my favorite this year. It's so artistic, the storytelling, her voice, her screaming, I love it!
True
I love that this song has gotten everyone talking. Lots of people acting confused about it now but by the time Eurovision comes around and people have listened to it enough I'm certain it'll be very popular, at least with the Eurovision regulars
Brilliant choice Ireland!
I totally love it. It's sooo unique! And the rest of her songs... amazing! So happy that I could discover her.
"Can't see it getting to the Final ..."
But that's where many might disagree.
Can not believe quick it’s coming around again! It was like only yesterday it was in Liverpool!
I'm scared!
And people obviosly dont remember finlands winning entry years ago. That wasnt that much different. Even conchita got weird looks and He /she won it
Im liking it, bit of flavour for Eurovision 2024
The Spotify version is better vocally than this live performance. But yeah…. It’s quite… unique??? It’s quite a 180 from our past performances!😅😂🤷🏻♂️❤️🇮🇪
The more I listen, the more I love it, I find myself singing it during my day🤣
I totally understand the confusion as theres a lot to take in in the first listen.
It's brilliant, it's mad it's just what is needed.
She is so real 💀😭😭
Nahhhh.....lol. This will NOT qualify! OMG what was that?
People are hungry for fun and party this year, no balads, no screaming......!!!!!!🎉
I agree with you on final part, I think she should put screaming in the backing track and sing "blue, blue, blue...", for the sake of her voice at least. I liked that witchy laughing tho.
Love this 'song'!
hii so i love bambie thug so i did research and her song is about heartbreak and having your potential overlooked x hope this helps!
So this song is about witchcraft which is actually engrained in Irish folklore and tradition. To me this is about a witch on her day of judgement or doomsday. ☺️
