Rear Axle Service

In this video, I demonstrate the service procedure for the later, tubed type, rear axle on my 1978 MGB Touring. The issues I will address are, a leaking rear differential cover, cleaning the axle vent and replacing the rebound straps. I hope you enjoy it and give it a 'Like'.

Good video. I am completely restoring my '70, everything painted up beautifully and reassembled with a gasket from Moss. Hasn't even been off the jackstands and it's leaking from the cover. Sooo, I get to do this again.

Thanks. When you remove the cover set it down on an absolutely flat surface and make sure the cover is not bent. If it is it will rock back and forth and will have to be straightened out. Also look at the bolt holes and make sure they are not distorted and bent inward. Good luck.
