MGB Tech Tips by Fred Humberstone Multimedia
Приєднався 4 лют 2020
Hi, I'm Fred Humberstone. I'm a lifelong Little British Car and sports car owner and enthusiast. I have enjoyed driving and working on these cars for a long time and I have come to discover there are many others who are coming into this hobby without any experience at all who have many questions. I have decided to use my position working in the media industry to help everyone in this hobby learn about their cars and how to take care of them and answer their questions along the way. I'm going to keep everything simple and hopefully show that anyone can perform simple maintenance on their Little British Cars. This slide show will be the first of many more to come on a monthly basis. So, if you would like to be the first on your block to get the latest video then subscribe to this UA-cam channel. You'll be glad you did.

Thanks for the video. Your after looks great. I'm about to tackle this job on my 79 this weekend.
Are you a robot ? Video is ok but the narration makes me want to throttle the presenter.
Outstanding video and presentation.

So, rather than replace the delaminating seal, you opt for double sided sticky tape. Why not just buy a couple of new seals, they are cheap as chips and easy to replace.
Good video...the Weber carb is OK but the best setup is the dual HS or HF carbs as fitted to the older models. No doubt the Weber is simpler but not quite as good as the original dual setup. Have good day. Mike 🇨🇦 🍁 👍
Weber downdraft carbs are junk and a waste of money. While a handful of Weber jets may be helpful, the only way to properly tune and adjust them is with a dyno. The proper carburetor set up for an MG B would be a set of SUs.
Great video. Moss motors now stocks a kit the has a new repair bracket. You can use a section or the entire unit. B-Pillar repair kit part #472-328.
Great video.
These Fred Humberstone tech tips are THE BEST online that I have found. His voice is clear, and there is no background 'noise/music' to distract those of us seeking methods and visual clarity regarding doing the tasks. Thank you for your great videos. One week ago I began the rebuilding process on my sister's 1975 MGB. While living in Manhattan Beach, we were both working for the airlines when she bought it new in 1975. It has the 50th Anniversary Gold Plated medallion embossed into the dash to the right side of the glovebox. It was driven a lot and now has 95,000 California miles on it. Sadly it was sitting in my cousin's farm yard for the past 5 years and needs new interior, and body & paint. Engine and transmission are perfect. Now I have it at my shop in Vegas to get it back in shape again for her driving pleasure. It is a wonderful opportunity to re-live some great old memories and also create new ones. These cars are wonderful to drive. My first MGB was a 1965 and we did a few performance improvements to make it a neck-snapping acceleration machine. Significantly faster than the 1975 smog-choked cars we have in California.
Hi Ken, thanks for the kind words. I'm glad to hear your MGB is now getting the attention it deserves. I'll have some more videos posted soon. While sheltering from the pandemic at home I was able to get a lot of work done on my 1978 B. Now I am back at my job and do not have all of the time I had to work on my cars. But work is progressing slowly on the restoration of my 1967 MGB GT. Next up, how to install the accessory center armrest and installing stereo speakers in the side panels beside the rear bench seat.
Can we get a picture of the foot well, along the tunnel on the passenger side?
I am unable to attach the photos to this reply. Please send an email to: humberstonef@gmail.com and I'll reply with the photos. Thanks for watching my channel.
Good video. I am completely restoring my '70, everything painted up beautifully and reassembled with a gasket from Moss. Hasn't even been off the jackstands and it's leaking from the cover. Sooo, I get to do this again.
Thanks. When you remove the cover set it down on an absolutely flat surface and make sure the cover is not bent. If it is it will rock back and forth and will have to be straightened out. Also look at the bolt holes and make sure they are not distorted and bent inward. Good luck.
Here before 80 subscribers. I hope This Channel makes it big one day! See ya bud x3
Thanks.
I've never actually tried JB weld before. I will have to give it a shot next time a captive nut lets go. Thanks for the tip!
