  • THE BEST SECRET TRAIL AT SLEEPING BEAR DUNES IN 4K! Join Alice from Italy and Tommy T as they show you the secret spot in the Sleep Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Park near Traverse City Michigan in the Leelanau peninsula! The name of the trail is The Sleeping Bear Pt Trail. Less traveled, it is a must stop for hikers and lovers of the outdoors! The Leelanau Peninsula is a peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan that extends about 30 miles from the western side of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan into Lake Michigan. Leelanau County encompasses the entire peninsula. It is often referred to as the "little finger" of the mitten-shaped lower peninsula.
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore park covers a 35-mile-long (56 km) stretch of Lake Michigan's eastern coastline, as well as North and South Manitou islands. This Northern Michigan park was established primarily because of its outstanding natural features, including forests, beaches, dune formations, and ancient glacial phenomena. The lakeshore also contains many cultural features including the 1871 South Manitou Island Lighthouse, three former stations of the Coast Guard and an extensive rural historic farm district. In 2011, the area won the title of "The Most Beautiful Place in America" from Good Morning America. In 2014, a section of the park was named the Sleeping Bear Dunes Wilderness by the United States Congress.
The most prominent features, and those for which the park is named, are the perched dunes above Lake Michigan. These immense sand dunes are “perched” atop the already towering headlands that are glacial moraines. The dune overlooks at the Sleeping Bear, Empire and Pyramid Point bluffs are about 400 feet above Lake Michigan.
Alice and Tommy take you to their secret spot!

Just finished your Mackinaw Island video and suggested you do a video on the Dunes, low and behold I’m watching your video now! Your videos are better than TV! One of the hardest things I’ve ever done climbing those things! My wife is from up there! Thanks again!

Ok so yesterday I tapped out at marker 18. I had no idea of the intense hiking before you get to the main dune. My question is does the water here look as turquoise as the main area annnd can you access the main tourist area from this side? From the videos the water does seem as brilliant as what I’ve seen in videos of the other spot.
    Sincerely still sore 🥴

You can’t access the main dune from this area unless you took an extremely long hike which we would not recommend. The water in this areas is great. Thanks for watching How To Have Fun Outdoors!

I had no idea there was another option to get to the main dune to see the water. I didn’t even get to see the wayer
