A week long family reunion is a few days too much reunion. I approve of the one man adventure type getaway. They are often needed in that situation. Thanks for taking us along. 😎
Great Video, Great "Escape" to reset the adventure spirit!!! Thank you for taking us along. and I won't tell Poppins you didn't bring Sun Screen. Which by now, she already knows!!! I believe the only good seagull was Johnathon Livingston Seagull. All others are rats with wings!!!!
I'm forever awestruck by the beauty of OUR Great Lakes. And, I totally understand the family reunion thing. My motto is, "I'm not anti-social, I'm pro-solitude." Thanks, Chuck!
So cool! This was really fun to watch with the trike and the kayak and all of your prep work with set -up. The water looked amazing! This is one of my favorite videos. You did a great job, Chuck, presenting the history of all the buildings, filming, and entertaining us with your random bits of humor! Glad you survived the family reunion! 😂🎉
I put a thumbs up before the video even began: KNOWING that this would be another amazing and knowledgeable and fun video. And even better while on Lake Michigan vacation!
Would love to see more peddle paddle adventures! Consider videoing a hike and peddle adventure too like stashing a bike at Empire Bluff Trail head, taking car to Treat Farm Trail and hiking back to bike. The Empire Bluffs are spectacular.
We stumbled upon your videos, we love what you've done, you style, humor, information.. we just can't stop watching. Thank you. It's inspiring us to explore our home state more and we've learned quite a lot we had no clue about.
Another great video! I was stoked to see you riding a trike. We love our trikes! We rode M-185 around Mackinac Island this year and it was beautiful. Thanks for sharing this great form of cycling.
We stopped in that area while out in the dinghy and talked with one of the rangers. The piping plover has an interesting story, early in the spring the males migrate north and build nests out of stone at the waters edge. The females fly in lay eggs and split while the dads raise the lil ones and fly back south late summer. They only have a few areas in the north where they nest and the park service does a great job counting the new hatchings. We love to watch the bald eagles soar across the dunes and dive for fish. Their shadows are hugh against the dunes like something out of a horror film
Relatively new sub with the bell thing happening. Still slowly but steadily viewing your vids. They are always, in the words of Tony the Tiger : "GRRREAT!! Youall are about as much fun as anyone can have with all your clothes on. History/Geography major/minor at MSU/WMU with many years between those for whom travel is difficult. Your presentations are tonic.. Your humor and editing are superb. Thanks for posting.
I was there last week - July 16th. Right now, the e-trike fits in my Jeep Gladiator (truck) in the bed. I hope to work on a rack soon. When we haul both, we use a trailer, however, on can fit on my roof rack and one can fit in the bed.
It can be crowded, but September is usually much less crowded on the island - that's a pretty good time to go. It is a nice place to hike and relax for sure.
Way cool! In the drone shots it looked more like the Caribbean than the Great Lakes! 😎✌️
It does!
Livin the life with the Vike!!!! (Poppins too) :)
nice glasses poppins!!
Super video!
Very beautiful. I’m goin’!
just watch out if you run down the dune.... going back up sucks !

Glad to hear someone else shares my perspective of seagulls.
LOL. I think if anyone spends a summer on the water visiting island, sailing, etc. They will grow to feel the same way about Gulls. . .
Your liv'n the dream, Chuck!
It looks like you're getting some great exploring done too!
@@RestlessViking Not nearly enough. If ever you're in the Lansing area, give me a shout.

Glad to have you here!
Great lake trip. What month were you there? The weather looked ideal for being out on the water. Also, how do you transport your e-trike by car?

Really liking you channel! From one viking to another how is North Manitou Island? I'm traveling in September to try it .
It can be crowded, but September is usually much less crowded on the island - that's a pretty good time to go. It is a nice place to hike and relax for sure.
@@RestlessViking awesome my friend. Thanks for the advice. Can't wait to see the island!
Have a great time!
