I live down state and have been coming to the t.c./ sleeping bear area for 40 years. I was just there last week and it is sad to see what it has become. The crowds are growing every year along with the wineries, breweries, distilleries, casinos. Just wanted to walk along the beach and put my toes in lake Michigan but we couldn't even get close enough to the lakeshore to see it. Even the hidden areas we used to go to have been discovered by the masses. It will never again be what it used to be. ☹

It's a shame that I lived in West Michigan my whole life, over 60 years and have never been to any of these places. I think you inspired me to get up there soon. Love watching your videos, keep up the great work.
Have had the privilege of calling Michigan home my entire life (35 years). We have always spent time on the water, going "up north", and exploring the U.P. As a kid I always had a great time and thought the things were really cool. But with kids of my own now and taking them on the same trips and exploring new ones I have really come to appreciate and understand how unique and amazing this state is and what it has to offer. Seeing it from someone's point of view that isn't from here makes its even that much more meaningful. Thanks for the reviews and also showing some new places in T.C. that we will be checking out when we head there for our fall trip.

My sis lives in TC. You will love it. All kinds of stuff to do and things to see. You will ( did) love it. You should see how beautiful it is at Christmas time. LOL!
I lived in T.C. for over 7 years and enjoyed it, but after I got in my 20's I started to realize that I took it a bit for granted. I've been back many times since. The Blue Angels put on an air show every other year during The Cherry Festival.
You guys heading even farther north? Get across the Mackinac Bridge and see the Upper Peninsula (UP). Truly the best part of Michigan. Lake Superior is absolutely incredible. There is something about that lake, the draw of its massiveness, it’s so different from the other Great Lakes.
@@EatSeeRV Fair warning, the water in Lake Superior is COLD! One of my cousins lives in the UP, they love it there. Try the Soo Locks tour, it's very interesting. I swear they're filled with sawdust. They're not much bigger than your hand but they're cute and don't take up much room in a motor home. Be sure to buy some fudge too.
Traverse City is a great place. My friend who used to work with my mom her dad before he died lived up there and owned a bed and breakfast up there. The guy who used to own Little Ceasar’s Pizza he used go stay there for at least 2 weeks at a time. @@EatSeeRV As much as I wish we could say yes, sadly that's not the case. We joined Cooper's Hawks wine club. They are a winery/restaurant with locations all across the states. They offer tastings and 2 bottles of wine month as a part of the membership. We experienced the Germany wine during our first tasting. We knew absolutely nothing about wine before signing up we just knew we were getting into the RV life soon and thought it would be cool to pick up bottles of wine around the country while traveling. So we joined and have been enjoying it ever since!
Where you went, us locals avoid at all cost. There are places outside the Traversecity limits that are way more beautiful. There are better breweries futher away and cheaper. You got sucked into the tourist trap. I avoid those areas. Being a local, I can recommend much better places to go.
Would love to hear the recommendations! I am heading to Sutton's Bay area next wknd for an anniversary trip in hopes of avoiding touristy traps like you mentioned in TC! The Two K Cider tasting looked cool though!
@@CourtneyBishopPOA Try Glen Harbor area. In Leland, go to the Blue Bird Resturaunt, they have great food! I realize the author was limited on time bit honestly, those tours are kind of a joke. There are many bike trails and other places further North. My favorite places Are Peterson Park in North Port and Christmas cove. Most locals are the only ones that know where Christmas cove is. Peterson Park is a great place to rock hunt.
The bike trail/path looked awesome. We bet Liz would have jumped off that bridge. She is a jumper! So, does it get easier or harder to say that German wine name the more you drink?
😆 this comment made me laugh out loud. You know I would have jumped! I'm also going to say easier. I'm sober now and couldn't say if I wanted to. 😉 - Liz
Good way to go drinking using a bike but I bet you can still get a DUI on a bike:). My son got a speeding ticket on his bike for going 45 in a 35 MPH zone. Can't wait for next week to see where you go.
Lived there 10 years (until 2018). You got suckered into every expensive tourist trap in and around town. Too bad, there are some really nice, quiet inexpensive things to see/do/eat...
I'm sure, we just did what appeals to us. We love eating and drinking and since that's some of the areas specialties that's what we did our first visit there. Would love to explore more though, what do you recommend that's cheaper or less touristy? - Liz
For those of you who "love" Traverse City..... I also live in TC and I hate to rain on parade, but this city used to be clean, water pure, roads in good shape. That is not the case in present day! All road work done and in summer here, not enough East West roads, beaches closed due to E Coli, way too many breweries, high rise going up, if you would have been here in 70's, when this town was CLEAN, you would not praise it's current condition. The city planners just care about business and money and in my opinion, are turning TC into a small version of Dettoit. As far as advertising the best beaches in State...Muskegon beaches are much better! Why dont the city planners put in more roads or make a midnight shift, this summer has been a nightmare of traffic!!!

Hm not sure how we're in the way in this video? Or at the beach? If it's a general PSA for other viewers maybe reframing it a nicer and more understandable tone would be helpful?
@@EatSeeRV no. If you lived around here you’d understand exactly what I mean. I appreciate vacationers and my livelihood depends on tourism. That's funny! Little fleet was super cool - Liz
What camera gear are you guy using your videos looks gorgeous🤩
Here you go vlog set up 📷: link.eatseerv.com/vlogsetup
You should come in January. When it's real fun. When all the license plates are from Michigan.
The ice cream that you described so well, where did you get it and who made it? Being from northern Michigan, you hit so many great places, so much more to come back to visit.
Yes for sure! It was milk and honey!
Moomers is the National favorite. Even Mr. Biden came and had some.
Well just come back from vacation and trying to catching up whit your videos , good to see you guys , enjoy you trip to the MW
Where'd ya go? Hope it was a great vacation Rudy!
@@EatSeeRV Went to San Luis Potosi then to Monterrey , NL then back to Real de Catorce SLP., then flew back to Houston , then drive to San Antonio, Tx to de border of Eagle Pass, Tx and now in home East Texas lol tired
I'd imagine that's a lot of traveling. Please tell me you are a taco for us? We miss good tacos, we miss Mexico!
@@EatSeeRV The good eaten for sure was in Monterrey , the street tacos where the bomb then las enchiladas en San Luis Potosi ,,, i'm no complaining we eat great for sure
Great food and cool places. Lots of alcohol flowing eh? It’s easy to do with good friends. Cheers!!!
Yes, the cup was never empty during that trip! Cheers 🥂
We have tried the German wine and loved every drop of it!
Yummmm! Did you try it in Germany?
@@EatSeeRV As much as I wish we could say yes, sadly that's not the case. We joined Cooper's Hawks wine club. They are a winery/restaurant with locations all across the states. They offer tastings and 2 bottles of wine month as a part of the membership. We experienced the Germany wine during our first tasting. We knew absolutely nothing about wine before signing up we just knew we were getting into the RV life soon and thought it would be cool to pick up bottles of wine around the country while traveling. So we joined and have been enjoying it ever since!
Um, that sounds so cool though!
@@EatSeeRV we will send you a link with more details on IG if you are interested! Again... This was an awesome video guys! Have a great night!
@@scottfirman thank you! We are planning to e-bike around to cover more ground and support a new biz, Ride Leelanau. :) Appreciate the suggestions!
😉 - Liz
went to roots cider house in down town Traverse City Aug. 7th and never been to that place. Food was different but in a good way
Drives in the state. At the end of the tunnel checknout the Leggs Inn. Both are must sees in Michigan.
Thank you!
Good way to go drinking using a bike but I bet you can still get a DUI on a bike:). My son got a speeding ticket on his bike for going 45 in a 35 MPH zone. Can't wait for next week to see where you go.
That's crazy he got a ticket on his bike. But yes, we do know it's possible, DUIs and all.
@@EatSeeRV He was going down hill at midnight after working. Look f like you had fun b
Sounds about right. At first I was like wait 45 mph how can you even go that fast.
- Liz
Would love to hear any recommendations. I'll be heading to Sutton's Bay/TC area next wknd for an anniversary trip!
Did you say Uber Liz?: (LOL) Have fun!
South Australia OMG the reds are thr best in the world.
TC native 🍒❤️
Wurtz are amazing wines. Tell if you liked it?
Just the right amount or… not enough. There have been so many times when I wished I would have purchased more,
Haha we got another box after thank heavens!
Bikes, Kayaks, and beer.. .what can go wrong?
Just a bit of "tipsy" detected! LOL Good times!
LOL, It's hard not to get tipsy on these tours, everything is so good! - Dennis
Loved it. GC
Thanks gene!
That’s not the traverse city I remember as a kid! 😆
I'm sure it's changed! Haha sounds like you need to revisit
@@barbaradon2460 exactly,it used to be quaint tourism now its a disaster, ive only lived up here for 10 years and have seen the change in just the last few years compared to the first few
@@jasondeslatte7611 We'll popularity and pure Michigan ad campaigns to that, but you still have the Accidentals and Moomer's.

Thanks for watching
I was there last week and enjoyed it so much that I'm going back this week ❤ thanks to this video, I know that I have a guide
Maybe you should get a similar tattoo everywhere you go?
😆 can't believe you noticed it
I live near Traverse City
Brew Bus, last stop....the AA meeting
Good video. Just don't go into the 'men's trail' by the commons unless you like to get drunk and bum fight.
How is it I gained 10 pounds watching all of the food you guys ate?
Haha!
Maybe it's just me, but Traverse City is more than drinking
To visit
Have you heard of AA
🤔 yes but we're all good! Thanks
believe me when i tell you that ive been really drunk there...
Please wear a bike helmet when biking, especially after having a few.
Thanks Jerry. - Dennis
Avoid tc
Best thing to do is to avoid TC. Too many people. Go to Alpena instead. They have alcohol and a lake too.
Noo keep Michigan tourist free lol to many of them
Dude it's too late. The cat was already out of the bag when we arrived.
NOOOO Stay away! We already have way too many people here!! ( its lame anyways )
Most of this video is focused on drinking wine/ciders and tasting beers. Was dissapoonted as we don't drink and need more content for other things.

Advice: get out of the way. Locals are trying to work. Take your trash with you when you leave the beach. Seriously.
I have many stories and experiences with tourists that can be infuriating while on my day to day business mostly in the form of terrible driving. I also frequent the beaches around Grand Traverse Bay and am constantly sickened by the amount of trash left behind fir the locals to pick up. No. I’ll not change my tone. Thanks for spending your money now go home.
No true local talks to our guests that way. The only trash here is your attitude.
Thank you for the amazing video @Eat See RV ! Please, come back anytime!
@@huntertomorroh not to their face.
