      But I suppose it's also possible that rich some UA-camrs don't want to make it sound like they're bragging about making a lot of money, and if they try to downplay it then it might look worse, because it would seem like €20,000 per video is nothing to them.

    Been on youtube prior to monetization. I miss how it was. Content creativity has really taken a dump, and it's no longer a welcoming environment to share vulnerably. It used to be more kind, with a wide spectrum. You used to be able to upload your personal videos for family events without the fear of censorship or copyright strikes. This thing has evolved, and I think its great you make money and all... but this has become a competition space, where it used to be more communal and welcoming of all kinds of video uploads. More of the reason the Adpocylypse happened is because of a small program called Candid. It was advertised as a chat program and even promoted by a lot of UA-camrs, most of whom knew exactly what the program really was (make your own judgements of the actions of these people). It was actually an AI ran program that taught itself how to censor language. Google bought the program and started using it on UA-cam to appease the advertisers, which is why you now have people constantly talking about having their videos de-monitised because they simply said one of the trigger words.

    UA-cam can say these measures are about protecting advertisers, or preventing advertisers from pulling ads but that is a BS excuse in order to pay less to creators. What UA-cam fails to realise is that they shot themselves in the foot with their greed. Yes, they may be giving themselves a much larger slice of the pie and making as much money as Netflix does as a result, but the quality and diversity of content on UA-cam has suffered badly since the first and second Adpocalypses.
    In my opinion, with the way UA-cam was growing, it would have become the be-all and end-all of digital content. Instead they are squeezing the life out of their formerly vibrant community, causing them to run all manner of sketchy ads and begging for people to support them directly (I'm not against Patreon it just didn't used to be necessary when things were even marginally equitable).
    Short sighted, sociopathic corporate decision making is a rot that is rampant in tech companies these days.

    George! You're really great at this. You probably know that, but I wanted to say anyway.
    It's funny how you say it was "a little annoying" when what you made plunged as your views skyrocketed. I get it that you didn't put a lot of time into the video or think it would get a lot of views. But still! Maybe you are one of those people who says "a little bit annoying" when you mean "totally effing maddening." :p Take care.

    I wouldn't be too concerned about the amount you have made. I personally know a few documentary makers who spend months, and sometimes years, making 90 minute doco's and only get between $5,000 and $10,000 per doco. But they keep at it because it's their passion.

    • @justanothernobody7142
      @justanothernobody7142 2 роки тому +5

      I think this guy is potentially FOS based on this video. The video he's talking about doesn't seem to exist now, there's only 2 videos with that name and neither seem to be related to him. Only one has enough views to be his video so unless he's secretly the owner of the "Top 10s" channel I don't see why anyone would delete a video generating that kind of income. Also this would be impossible to do now anyway because you need to have a channel with at least 4,000 hours of watch time on your videos over the last 12 months and at least 1k subs before you can even monitize it. I'm not sure when this rule came in but maybe it was different in 2016.

    As cool as this video might be. I can not find the video in question. Nor is there any information regarding other accounts you have. I looked at all of the top videos with the same title and can not find it. I searched a number of ways. So either you deleted the video or it never existed to begin with.
    I do not even have a clue as to what channel you may or may not have had at one time or another.
    It would be nice to know where the video is.

    this is the first video i've ever seen that is HONEST about ad revenue. max fosh for example claimed he only made $200 for a 600k video. Like that doesn't make sense as how can people do this for a job.

    • @benfrese3573
      @benfrese3573 2 роки тому +3

      How? By having many views, ideally 2-5 times a week. Also the ad revenue differs a lot. It's not a fixed rate for a certain amount of views. $200 for 600k views can very well happen, just because your audience doesn't appeal to advertisers or many of them use an adblocker (and similar factors).

    I just laughed till I had tears in my eyes. Your opening booking picture is of my friend of 20 yrs Jason Barnum. He had just been in a shoot out with the cops back home in Alaska & had been shot 2x through a hotel bathroom door. He was super pissed, in extreme pain & dope sick in that picture. Dude is doing what we call "Life on the installment plan" so funny.
    Jason is actually a incredibly gentle, warm, shy dude who has been really kind to me sense I was 16. He is one of those guys that never stood a chance, between the circumstances in which he was raised & spending the majority of his life locked up sense he was 12. He actually tattooed his eye on prison with bic ink & soot. He is now famous for his terrible booking picture. He lost about 60lbs in 5 months so he looked terrible in that picture but normally weighs in at 240 8% body fat. Looking amazing for all the woods in Seward Correctional Center for the rest of his life. What a waste of potential with this guy.
