Great description of a fantastic, and criminally underrated, fragrance! I don't understand the hate this one gets, resinsous, fruity, sweet but all tempered by the aromatics, one of my fav Malles! Oh, and subbed as your content is first rate my man!!
FM genius is that he let the perfumers fully lean into their creativity, it wasn't about mass appeal. MFaW was a crazy ride for me. I felt like it was hitting so many olfactory nerves at the same time i just couldn't. It is a master work for sure though. Oddly, i find that Byredo Oud Immortel has that pineapple accord like MFaW.
Also fell in love with it. The whole thing is about the dry patchouli balance. Its not a gourmand. Sweet balanced with (mainly from the dry patchouli) and still managing to be masculine. Star anise and lavendar adds as you said. Aspects of the classic masculine frags but in a totally original, modern way. Brilliant frag. Also, big malle fan.
This fragrance recently caught my attention, I’m interested in getting it. I just ordered Musc Ravergeur and Vetiver Extrodinear from Joma shop. I’m waiting for this package to arrive. Anyway keep up the good work. I enjoy your reviews here in Trinidad 🇹🇹 you have good taste.
I like how you mention incense because I get a resin kind of vibe with this one. I immediately thought this was too sweet at first but Carlos Benaim (same person who did Eau de Magnolia) struck a really delicate balance. It's sweet but it's never too much where it becomes cloying. The pineapple is very well done; everything is high quality and balanced! I would go easy on the trigger on this one--it's not a skin scent, I actually think two sprays is good enough. Very unique and different from Aventus even though they both have pineapple / patchouli, more wearable compared to other Malle scents in my opinion, and smells very expensive lol. I think this would be a crowd pleaser to most people, but a 50 / 50 split among the fragrance community. 4 out of 5 stars from me though ! I really enjoy this one Thanks for this review bro !!

I Finally got my nose on this at Neiman Marcus yesterday and man.. I WAS BLOW AWAY!!! A Lady friend who was with me was blown away also! We sniffed over 20 diff fragrances and this and Xerjoff Tony Iommi Monkey Special were the 2 fragrances we kept gravitating back to! The pineapple note is stunning! It’s thick syrupy & juicy taking center stage with the lavender & pachouli and sweetness man oh man this fragrance is divine! Ordered a FB once I got home from a accredited online discounter because I refuse to pay retail 😂 Super excited to add this showstopper to my collection
i have malle’s carnal flower and portrait of a lady. people LOVE it, but i don’t for some reason. regarding pineapple scents...do you like layton? i bought a whole bottle (which goes against my new rules now because i have too many fragrances) and people LOVE layton, omG! i bought it because i tried some of a really good batch of aventus, but it’s too masuline on me. layton is in the unisex category.

That lavender gonna get a WHOLE lot bigger the more air you put in the bottle. The Moon is totally worth it. Everyone that smelled that one ended up with a bottle.
@@fragrancejourney01 Looking at your collection and at the fragrances you review on your channel, it shouldn't be. I'm thinking it's more of a psychological step than a financial one. I can't afford everything you have back there but I keep my collection as small as I can and I get rid of things I don't wear all that much. So I have no problem in selling 2, 3 or even 4 fragrances I've stopped wearing and buying 1 I love. I declutter constantly so my collection never goes over 50 (and that's too many if you ask me). Hope you end up with one in your collection, it really is that special, although it should be like 30% cheaper. With the price hikes at Tom Ford and Dior I'm worried Malle will follow suit so... Cheers!

Once it gets into your head, it doesn't come out. Birdie and Zanzibar by Xerjoff and Noir edp by Tom Ford have a similar effect.

I wish I could afford to grab the Moon but it’s a bit out of my price range.Smelled it at the Malle boutique in Milan and it was amazing.

To not smell aventus is wild aventus birth so many other fragrances that copied its original dna. That’s wild aventus is king for a reason.
