I've been testing this lately and LOVE it! However I seem to go straight to the lavender/pineapple and miss the opening you described. Because of the price I'll have to settle for a decant and miss the classy bottle and packaging. Great review!
I interpret the spicy part as being mandarin or pineapple in some way, or perhaps the lavender as well, not necessarily the parts one usually eats but perhaps some part of the mandarin peel or or the stems of lavender. Clove does come close to describing it. One of my favorite FM. Very invigorating but not too jovial.
I love this fragrance but at I didn’t get the caramel listed in the breakdown. Actually, I smelled this on a test strip; not on skin.... which probably explains why I never got the ‘caramel’. Frederic Malle is top notch juice for top dollar. Too bad I can’t afford it, at least not right now.
