- Every time when pigs meet there is a fight to see who is the dominant one. Both of these Berkshire sows are around 700 pounds and full of bad ass bitchyness and want to be the top hog @bansleysberkshireridgefarm These sows were born here and have been together all of their lives and this still happens every time I reintroduce them even though they have seen each other every day thru the fence line. I put a lot off feed out to hopefully take their minds off of fighting but it doesn’t work as you will see #9 just stops fighting to take a snack then goes back to fighting.

I'm not sure though that I'd call it fighting what those pigs were doing, looked more like playing. I've seen pigs fight, there's squealing and biting and they don't just lean against each other spinning in a circle

Pigs can be quite vicious when they want to be! I saw a video where a huge Black Bear got over an electric fence into a pig enclosure. Once in it attacked the nearest pig! Another pig, half the size of the Bear, came storming out of the pig house and ATTACKED the Bear!!!
The pig actually had the Bear cornered in the pen until the Bear decided to climb back out of the pen and hi-tailed it outta there! It was hilarious!🦂
Hi Scorpius, pigs do have attitudes for sure. Yes, I saw that same video with the bear and two pigs. It was funny seeing the bear retreat. 😆😆
Bears are funny. They attack other animals all the time but when someone gets the drop on them they run like he'll. I saw a video where a huge Grizzly attacked a moose in the water a second moose attacks the bear but the bear ran...Hella fast with the moose chasing. The bear changed directions and ran back towards the river with the moose close behind. The bear switched directions again and headed towards a house, smashing into a door breaking it...turned around and headed back towards the forest in full gallop. The moose had already given up the chase.
if that's a clean pig now imagine an injured one. They are some of the few natural animals that have gameness, they will fight more the worse their condition is. No room to back off, they will bring you with them to their grave.
Seen them eat off a weaker pig... entire herd was doing it but the big boy started it and others followed

i was attacked by a huge sow when i was about 11 years old...we used to block her from entering her pen so we could clean it out...we got complacent about how we blocked her out..she easily knocked our "barricade" out of her way and attacked me before i could climb out of her pen..my younger brother grabbed a 2x2 piece of wood with a 4 inch nail driven through it and hit her in the ass with it...she let go of me to attack him but he was on the wooden half wall of the pen by then and she couldnt reach him..i got out before she could do anything else to me...2 days later my dad was makin sausages, kielbasa, pepperettes, bacon and porkchops outta her

I remember when I was just a kid, we use to go around gathering slop for the pigs. I would enjoy watching them eating all of the slop.
I was brought up in inner London in the 1970s. We had school dinners and would scrape any leftovers into a big steel bin. Those bins would be collected once a week and taken to pig farms. The smell from that truck was awful.

You should watch show pigs at county fair they put in arena by class weights maybe 25 to 30 pigs at same time the kids are trying to show their pigs and their running in every direction and their going to be fights the help tried to put a plywood board between them and move the in other direction lol it fun to watch lol

I missed those days getting up early on cold morning and making a fire 🔥….. Butchering hog and cooking meat ( making fresh boudin)……. We use to catch & cook hogs blood ( make red boudin).
Raising and processing your own meat is very rewarding. Glad you have great memories when you did it.

I know boars can do damage to each other in a fight, but do the sows do much damage to each other, or is it more often just a big pushing match?
Boars do end up with cuts and scratches from their tusks, the sows and gilts do more shoving around and nipping.

I have (what I thought) were a bonded pair of Juliana’s as pets. The male had an injury a month ago, so we have had the female separated from him as she has been trying to attack his injury. It’s been a month of healing, just tried to reintroduce & she is coming for blood (punctured his healing ear again). Will this ever stop? Do you have any tips? I’m so sad seeing them apart.
