    From an ignorant non-hunter: What do you do with the live hogs, piglets, etc after catching? What do you do with the hogs shot in the field?

    • @explosion4580
      @explosion4580 2 роки тому +16

      As far as I know most hunters dispatch all of the hogs or theyll take the larger ones to the scales to get paid for them. I know a guy that does this for a living and he raises the smaller hogs until theyre big enough to sell

      They're also killed. The diseases they spread to domestic pigs and damage they do isn't worth it.

      They kill all of them. Not sure what the population was when this video was shot but currently there are 1.5 million feral hogs in Texas. They can be found in 99% of the counties and the hogs are responsible for $52 million in damages to crops each year in Texas alone.

      This wild hogs are detrimental to people’s property. Cute or ugly, these animals are a real problem. It has cost farmers in many cases their livelihood. I do not eat meat so eating them is for the population that are starving. My reasons for not eating meat are personal. We may need to plan a strategy to round up all of these hogs all over the US and the world. The people in Africa and other areas could be helped by having this meat. Famine and humanitarian efforts could stop the onslaught of world hunger, starvation, and poverty. Here is our chance to help with this problem world wide.

    Not bad for a couple of days work ! This state still allows you to safely transport them. More and More states don't dare.
    Family farmer friends tell me it's impossible to keep wild adults, even the small ones can be dangerous and parasites, diseases, ect. are problematic.
    Even the VERY small are a double handful and the pens still need to be reinforced.
