Bought a bottle on a whim, even getting the "it's peaty AF" warning. Had to try it.
After the initial taste / getting acclimatised, I have to admit, this whisky rewards you for drinking it slow. The aftertaste is so nice and smooth, it's crazy.

You either love it or hate it. When I first tried it, it was the smoothest scotch I’ve ever tried. I immediately noticed the “Smokey” notes and the cold vapor after taste. When you have the strong sharpe bite gripping your tongue you are taken back and you immediately want more. I love it! Definitely my top favorite scotch drinks.

I'm kinda a beginner to scotch whisky. I also live in Sweden and with the heavy taxes we got they are quite expensive. But Laphroaig 10 is now one of my favorites since it's soo diffrent from the other ones i've tried. Tried mostly speyside and highland whiskys before this one and i kinda thought all scotches are like those. Until i tried Laphroaig and the world kinda opened up.

I am trying my first ever glass of Laphroaig 10 while watching this video. The first sip seemed like 2 different smoke flavors. The first reminds me of the smell when you check meat on the smoker and that thick humid cloud of seasoned smoke just hits you and the second taste/smell reminded me smell of a nascar stadium: fresh burnt tires, but in a good way. This stuff is awesome!

This was the first or second Scotch I ever had. Did a flight with my old man at a whiskey bar. I fell in love right away with the peat, which I've been told my friends who are just getting into Scotch can be quite off-putting. Laphroaig 10 will always have a spot on my shelf. I just started into my first bottle of Laphroaig 10, last night, after seeing so many reviews with high praise on this channel. I enjoyed my first taste and I'm curious as to what the rest of the bottle will eventually bring, but I can't help wonder what is wrong with my nose. No matter how much time I allowed the pour to air, I always came back to tempera paint for the smell. Fortunately the tasting brought out the earthy, peat and smoke - not paint. lol Not sure if anyone else gets that same reaction for the smell, but I would be curious to hear if it was similar for anyone else.

I've had a few bottles of this one. Really love it. I had some with an orange dessert one time, and then for the rest of the bottle I could taste this orange overtone. I guess with these complex whiskies a lot of subjective factors come into play. Each bottle has been slightly different. I think there is something that is known as batch variation that is effected by weather etc. and subjective factors like what you eat with it, general physical condition, diet etc.

I bought a bottle of it, but all I got from it was the alcohol and an iodine taste with such a low amount of smoke that it was more like someone thought really strongly about smoke while pouring the glass rather than that the whisky was peated. Is it possible I got a bad bottle? I know cork rot is a thing, but I've never heard of a bottle just not having any flavor to it.

He had johnnie walker blue and I fell in love with it and shortly after I bought two bottles within 3 weeks but I said to myself let me stop before this gets out of hand because I know how I can get once I start going on a binge. It was $170 at Costco compared to the $225 it was sold at the state liquor store but still it’s an expensive drink and the brand is all your really paying for. I’m like there’s got to be another alternative that has better value and I keep hearing about this laphroaig 10 so I will give it a go

im a total whisky noob, but i have cooked almost everyday for about 12 years at home and developed a taste for rich, bold flavors. somehow, i had a hunch that i would love peaty smoky scotches, but was hesitant, as i was bombarded from every side with "its not for beginners, you have to get more experience to understand.." well i saw laphroig and i bought it and i fucking love it. bold, interesting, barbecue-y, ... only thing I mind is that they color it with caramel and I can taste the caramel in every whisky they put it in. it has that one same note which jameson, auchentoshan, glenlivet and some blends have and it throws me off - i think it would taste much better and cleaner without the irritating note of that coloring. other than that, this is a fucking excellent whisky, my first peaty smoky bomb and I cant wait to try other ones!
