Herreninsel is a great place. It is well covered on Google maps, the tourist parts anyway, I explored all the places you went (that room in the museum was painted on the walls and ceiling like the Sistine Chapel) I was amazed at the architecture (not like Canada)XD. From an overhead view it showed an overlay of lots of paths all over the insel. You must have been camouflaged and quiet to stay stealthy. That sounds like fun. :D

Fortunately i don't live in a tourist area and very rural so it doesn't take long before there is absolutely no one for miles around me if I wanted to be truly solo and alone.
I am the same way about large groups of people around me, i can't stand it and in fact there was a worlds fair about 15 blocks from my home when I was growing up but I never went to see it, not once because there was just too many people.

You do such a great job of connecting the story to this amazing adventure. I really felt like I was in on the great escape. Your attitude about escaping the mass of people is very well spoken. Your "outside of the box" thinking is what attracted me to your channel. Brave and logical at the same time. A great combination. You have a new "subber" for life.

Ja, was du sagst, ist so wahr. Wenn alles, was du hörst, dein Gott und deine Natur ist, die zu dir spricht, kann es Frieden in deinem Herzen geben. Friede sei mit dir, Vanessa.

Vanessa: More outstanding video/audio work that you have created here. I would expect there to be many people at a tourist destination such as the Chiemsee, so it is good that you were able to find a place to be alone with Poldi. Yes, so many people have blinders on, like plow horses - only looking straight ahead or at their cell phone, without really taking in the world around them. Modern conveniences are okay, as long as WE own THEM, and THEY do not own US, IMO. All the best to you and your family.

🌿 Dearest Lady In The Lake.. Such amazing scenery on your way to the destination. Urban wilderness skills is a mostly forgotten topic. Wether you are just looking for a peaceful spot to increase your spiritual happiness or perhaps you find yourself homeless. There are many skills and worries you can prepare for. I lived 2 years camping in a tent near a large city. On weekdays I slept in my truck so I could get to work earlier. It was a very memorial and enjoyable experience. The wilderness in not where you are but what is inside you. 🌿

Nice Project Vanessa, I think practising an emergency camp makes good sense. I think stealth is good tool in your belt for security solo camping or either have protection in numbers. I always fear for your health & safety with your projects. You always put my thinking cap on, what you do if stuck in these cases. You can't scratch your nose anymore these days for fear of so many "Aunties" out there telling you, what is right & wrong or are you are being disorderly or whatever. Where has our freedom disappeared? You seem slightly a rebel at times bucking the system for me, something people lack these days, as you say everyone seems to have tunnel vision and only allowed access if they pay a fee, this world is not as free anymore in thought or action. You are free in thought & action Vanessa, keep living your wonderful free life!, stay safe, free & aware! take care! :)

Those mountains call to me, what a view, a pack a bedroll and a spirit of adventure makes the world a home, Thank you Vanessa for taking us with you, I wish I could pet that little dog through the computer screen, a small dog with a giant heart and no fear. I agree that he would definitely sound the alarm if anyone approached your camp. His ears and body language are probably superior to the best alarm system.

Hi Vanessa, your compilation of videos, as seen through your eyes, are just breath-taking! and you look so beautiful in your cap!! This was a very brave adventure, being way outside your comfort zone, amongst crowds of people, behaving a bit like zombies!, with no appreciation for the wonders of life. It's evening, and time to gather your thoughts, and reflect on the day, and lovely to have Poldi by your side, for company and a watchdog. Thank you for this very beautiful adventure, and wish you a peaceful night.💗💗💗🌙

Great video Vanessa..! =) I am also not fond of the big city or large groups of people. About 45 miles South of me is the Desert, very dry, arid, hot in the Summer time (100+ degrees "F") every day. Too Hot for my dog and I so I moved up into the Mountains. One can always put on enough clothes to keep warm, yet in Summer clothes are too hot. In the Mountains there is less air pollution, cleaner water, lots of wild life (animals) and birds then one would find in any city. Yes, the Winters are colder but the Summers are more comfortable to live without sweating yourself to be soaking wet all day long. Of course A/C (air conditioning) units help with the heat but you dare not go outside to get baked by the Sun. The hot heat during the day makes it so impossible to do anything...work, play, recreation, camping, fishing....unless the heat does not bother you..! Hope to see part 2 soon..? Take Care....

This video was so enjoyable to watch for me. I live in the southwest of the United States in a big city. It is already over 38 degrees here now and (if it was like last summer) soon will be over 44. I love it here but the softness of the light in your videos, the pastel colors, the water and the plants are so different and somehow calming compared to the harshness of the light, textures and colors here. Its like a little vacation. The scenery and architecture there are so different also and it was nice that you ended on the island with your dog in a peaceful place with a lovely view when you were explaining how you prefer the countryside to a large city. Having a little dog also; spending time with him is a great excuse for me to find parks and quiet places. Its so restful for the soul to escape the complexities of city life for a little while and really enjoy our time together, nature and simply being alive. This video was like this for me. Thank you again Vanessa. :)

Not only evenings are restful times :
    The year's at the spring
    And day's at the morn
    The morning's at seven
    The hills are dew-pearled
    The lark's on the wing
    The snail's on the thorn
    God's in his heaven
    All's right with the world

Are you out there "Skinny Dipping?" At least the Haters can't accuse you of "Click Baiting" by including the dip in the title. I too hate the city life, but when the wife requires people close for her job, you are stuck. Also me being in public service related work also makes it hard to get away for alone time too. Just need some alone time to regenerate huh? Good stealth camping trip.

Lake Chiemsee has a rather interesting association with Wewelsburg Castle andthe Nazi SS. Each person iinducted into the SS was given a custom solid silver Death's head ring. In most cases, this ring hadto be returned once the me ber departed the organization. The returned rings were kept at the castle in rememberance. As the war came to an end, Himmler order the castle demolished and the rings hidden or destroyed. A few rings were captured by the Americans in May 1944 but most simply disappeared. Some believe they were buried near the castle, perhaps in a cave.others have suggested the rings, with a contemporary value of about $27 million were dropped into Lake Chiemsee.

I do not like to look like a critic, but when you mention the topic of God and thinking about Him, can you explain to me what is the connection between God and the cross which you wear on your neck??? As I know, cross is just an ordinary device for torturing people... So, what harm, or benefit can cause to you a device for torturing people? I'm sorry if I'm rude with the question .... !!!!

Have you ever done any stealth canoe camping along German rivers? Always wild hidden spots along rivers. I've done considerable motorcycle stealth camping. Not as easy but with a lightweight camo cover you can conceal the bike. Only got caught once! The Spaghetti Western music was appropriate.

I really enjoyed this one Vanessa. I also don't like cities or crowds, but my job means I have to do it sometimes and it is a challenge. This is a great example that you can always find a little hidden gem if you look hard enough.
    Take care.............Andy 😉👍👣👣

A beautiful place to stay Vanessa, I understand how you feel about big towns and cities with all the traffic and the people going about their business and your right about them not knowing what is going on around them, in English we call it tunnel visioned, they only see what is in front of them, which is normally their mobile phone screens. I hate towns, cities and thousands of people.

Either that monastery is very big or that daschund is very small i had to do a double take regards appropiate scale of the building in comparison to the size of that dog?
Or perhaps the dog is big but that monastery is massive!!!
I wonder how many peoples used to live in here?
    Its a very unusual place
Now with an unusual steslth camper hiding out on it!!
I have found that some of the most exciting camps are when you should not be going there? But what the hell you are only living once!!!
I say youve not really lived yet unless youve broken a few rules!!
    It sounded dry underfoot
I umderstanding what you are saying about being a victim of mass tourism or modern lifestyles
    I hate modern life
And yes i feel surrounded bye shopping zombies!!
In the towns cities its new form of dystopia thar has taken over our lives i hate it i really do
Nobody knows how to properly communicate anymore or are always secretly suspicous of you
There is not much value to being a formal.member of any society if it is as distorted as it is today
I think i should have been born into perhaps a more exciting age like the 1920s 30s!!
Where doing anything adventurous used to go!!
Both men & women did some pretty amazing things in this era!! & world was not yet totally spoilt eithers?
It is a very beautiful region area and i enjoyed the music & photography you selected to show us too?
Its s good job there are no sharks in bavaria except tourist boat owners operators!!
    And island visitor centres
My region of uk & france is beaitiful too
But we are glad often times to see all the tourists go back home
As it can get too crazy especially on the roads or bottle necks or even on the waters too
We say that there are tourists and there are touroids!!!
Who are like android robots half half human half artificial intellogence robots who tour arounds our areas
Getting in the way of all that you wish to go & do? Its good to know how to play a few tricks to lose them all so much of our time in this life is spent being manipulated and indoctrinated its a special treat to go out and finally acheive what you really wish or want to do without being told instead what is not possible or that you cannot do?
    I am pretty mischeivous anyway
    If i see a sign
Telling me what i must not do?
I often wish to prove to the authorities or someone that i can do the opposites if i really wish too?
I get so fed up of being guilted about our robot obligations & persistently prevented from expressing yourself fully always told or mal influenced about what we should always do?
Its actually very good for you healthy to go outsides & break down a few of those oh so unecessary rules!!
That some killjoy has invented often for no really valid reason at all?
    In the ends analysis?
I could tell you a few good funny stories about my breaking of thr rules!!
But you probably wont have time to listen to them as there are too many!!
    To tell you!!
It would take me months years to tell you them all as my family and friends would tell you as they roll their eyes about what.ive done yet again or been up to?
    I dont look for it
But when things go wrong and you have broken the rules
It can be like that you are suddenly a shit magnet!!!
As problems can multiply very quickly.once you get discovered
So best policy is break all the rules but do not ever get caught doing it!
That is always the golden rule
I understand completely about what you said when you leave your camp you do not always know who has sneaked into be near you or your camp
This is a vulnerable moment when your guard is down
Afte you go swimming return back to camp again
But please put a lot of it down to your nerves and imagination because you are all alone have faith in your personal security also
It sounds bad or contrary to good advices but if say for instances someone did creep up on you in this exact place were blocking your exits
    To seek help
Then your best bet for safety would be in that cold lake behinds you
But youd either have to swim to other shoreline to get help or swim left or right and delay the persons attempts to intercept you
For enough time to land again where he could not get you?
The trouble with island s is that after everyone has returned back on boat they go very queit you can have difficulty finding the right person to help you in tiime?
So rely on your own intuition
Self help until an opportunity arises
To get proper help most peoples are not any real help if someone is seriously out to get you they are often to scared fearful
    So rely on yself mainly
But be always aware of yer exits dont have only 1 way to go back home again have several alternative routes in case you need to ever escape someone like me!!!!!!!
    Out to get you!!
Even i wouldnt want to bump into me in the outdoors!
Id scare myself just looking at me in the mirror!
I look like an escaped prisoner even on a good day!!?
My family even pretend that i am not related to them?!
    Whenever i am introduced?
Why are they so ashamed of my apearance!?
    Anyways
If your back is to a lake and someone bad blocks your route dont think that the lake behinds you is impossible ok
In which to seek safe refuge ok!!
That is my caring advices to you?
    Ok?
But only stay in for minimal amount of time until you have lost the person after you or on shore behinds you who will have more difficulty following you on land in certain places areas than you will have free moving in open water
Also other boats peoples will notice you easier
But you must be a good swimmer confident in water
    Your dog would.find you later
    Or you find your dog?
After the emergency is allover ok
But getaway put distance between you and the odd person ok
But have an escape plan and route always ok
Dont trap yourself in one sides bye water
Camp in place that offers multiple escape routes
Rather than only one way out past your potential attacker ok?
Thats my safety advice to you
Dont be visible unless you need to be have other safe exit options available be ready to execute a plan of emergency or phys safety at a moment s notices?
If you think anything bad is about to happen or shoot them ok
Dont hesitate do it early if you have to
Then explain to police polizei after
    They will understand you
Dont trust first then regret later ok
Keep new persons you just meet coming into yer area of camp a minimum of more than 15 ft away from you away from their grab ranges of you ok
Make them have to cover lot of difficult ground to come and get at you make their desires difficult ok impossible fight or flight always ok!
    Never give in at all
    Fight like a tiger ok
That way youll be safe & you may deter them psychologically too!
Maintain your correct distances if they are coming towards you do not give them close proximity to you unless you are 100% sure of them ok
But that isnt always easy to do!

Hello Vanessa, most of the people is disconnect from the world and they aren't caution about what can happen next in their life. I luv people but I rather spend time with very few people cuz it can be hard to trust them of not knowing what going thru their mind. Some people can be crazy and some can be good friends. It's good in most recent videos that ur caring a gun for protection from someone might threaten u. Great videos and keep them coming and God bless u and ur families and friends

  • @jeffburnham6611

Not sure how it is in Germany, but most tourists won't bother someone they see backpacking or around a campsite as they likely expect that person is on a vacation and enjoying the nature as much as they are. About the only time I've ever been approached was during hunting season and it was more out of curiosity to see if anyone was around the camp. I think the closer you camp to a city, the more likely you are to encounter people in the woods that have no respect for others privacy, especially if you're camping in some out of the way place where people don't usually see campers.
