You’re saving me money by letting me live vicariously with your collection. Your reviews of grow lights helped inform my first purchase so I’m spending too. Thanks for sharing.
I hope this doesn’t negatively impact your channel, but I’m so excited to watch this on my breaks tonight! Can’t watch it all at once but I’m pumped to have the planty company 💚
Girl you have some gorgeous plants!! I am sometimes reluctant to watch your videos because I always see something else I want that I don't need or don't have room for. Loving your Begonia (on a Begonia binge now) and you just glossed right over that stunning ferox or mellanobullata you have and then the Patriciae....I ...just..can't!🤣🤣
Lovely video as always Fern! For your Hoya Leucantha - definitely wants a trellis. It also can take a little lower light too but it’s probably fine in your cabinet! My Leucantha is much more full once I trellised it
Dawn dish soap helps me with aphids outdoors. I just do a light sprinkling over my geraniums, hibiscus and flower gardens. Then rinse well with a good watering. It will suds up a bit, but it keeps aphids away. The fall sunlight is so gorgeous. Your plants are looking really good mostly. Ty for sharing ✨🌿🌙🐾🌟🎃
Yeay! 🎉 so happy for the new video. And happy to see you. Am just getting better after also being down with a cold or sth, so I kinda feel you in the type of October😅 hope its over for all us now
I am about to jinx myself but aphids are the only pest I deal with on my Hoyas for the last 5 years. I hate them so much!! Even though I spray with alcohol every 2 weeks. That keeps all other pests away! Love you plants my friend!!!
watching while doing my plant chores after spending the week dogsitting & staying at my coworker’s house! walking into my place after a week away i felt like a proud grandparent going around to all my plants like “look how much you’ve grown!” 😂
Hello Fern, glad you are feeling better. Thanks for another video. I love to travel and leaving my plants behind and unattended is a struggle. Right now I am juggling to watch the video and repotting some plants from my Ikea greenhouse, no more space. 🌿💚
I really started to transition my prop containers into smaller ones like your maharani corms! I find it so much easier to keep clean and organized than a bigger box. I really like using the clear plastic salad containers, they are the perfect size and completely sealed! All of your plants are looking great! ❤ You could chop your verrucosum in half and have two vines in the pot!
Hi Fern, so glad youre feeling better, i always look forward to your chilled videos, including your other channel, i would like to thank you for your advice on string of hearts liking more water then people say, mine is thriving now, i have it in a hanging mirror ball pot (so cute) in cactus/succulent mix and it is growing so fast, as a Thank you i would like to give you a tip back, to safely release stuck emerging leaves i wrap a warm wet tissue around it and gently hold it for a few moments, hey presto leaf unsticks, i cringe when i see people use scissors, knives or finger nails and then have damaged leaves lol, your plants are so beautiful, you are inspiring x
I understand you with the thick stem Hoyas that shoot out. I didn’t know what to do either. Then my Hoya friend said to gently start trellising. It works and they shoot out more leaves. I hope it helps.
This video inspired me to document my Philodendron Patriciae, it is my first time growing a decent size leaf on it! This is my 3rd try on this plant 😵😅
I love watching your videos, you have such a lovely collection of beautiful plants . You are such a lovely person and soooo pretty 😊 I only have many 30 plants and transferred all of them into leca after a very bad fungus gnats infestation. Sadly 6 or 7 plants didn't like the change and died Inc my lovely ZZ plant and rubber plant 😢
Always fun watching your videos, love the monthly walk through.. you have inspired me so much to start my collection of plants again.. plants definitely bring joy to my life ❤🍀🌱
Requesting a video on that overhaul for your gloriosum PRETTY PLEASE! I’m fairly new to plant care and my gloriosum is INSANE 😅I’m really lost on what to do at this point
I think they revert on a lot of people. Have you tried to cut back behind the last verged leaf to get into the area where it was variegated. Thats what I had to go with my krimson queen. Once I cut back behind the last variegated leaf, it stopped giving me white leaves. It took awhile, but it’s given me a perfect leaf and working in its second. 😊
Could you maybe one day post pictures (on instagram?) or maybe even a slideshow type video on UA-cam of all your planty areas. Maybe you could even write a description about their growing conditions (lighting, what window?, etc) Sometimes things are going so fast in the video and you’re zooming in and out. I want to be able to really appreciate the areas AND get some ideas about how/where to place mine.
I went on vacation in October as well for 2 weeks. My husband was looking after my plants and I lost a couple of them. My begonia Queen Constellation is probably the saddest loss, but also sort of not surprising. The alocasia are looking quite bad as well, and when I arrived I was very thrown by the state of all the plants. It's been a week and I managed to pull back most of the plants, they are starting to look just as well as they did before. I didn't throw the begonia out, hoping it will come back to life. But perhaps I am overly optimistic.
I am soooo ordering that Matcha RN lol! I appreciate ur reccomends. If u have time, I have a planty question...what is ur opinion on leaving plants with pests outside rn so the cold may do it's thing and then rehab the plant from the cold treatment?
Any tips on rescuing a Thanksgiving cactus? I rescued one after seeing yours and now I’m like WHAT NEXT 🤦🏾♀️😂. Very beautiful and full but needs lots of love/help🫣. Amazing walkthrough of your beautiful collection 🤩😍✨🙏🏾
Do you still have your begonia amphioxus? I never see it anymore! I got a cutting last winter and it didn’t make it no idea what happened but I want to get a full plant of it eventually I love it 😍 Sorry to hear about some of your begonias! Hopefully they come back 🌱
For the begonia greenhouse, see if a local pet store has springtails. They eat decaying matter so they can eat mold, remove as much mold as you can then the springtails will deal with the hard to reach spots. They are very popular with terrarium builders to control mold before it spreads. They self regulate there population by amount of food and space. Don't worry they wont over take your home unless its extremely humid and moist.
I feel like I’m being overrun with springtails lol. There are so many of them in all of my plants. If I’m using mycorrhizal fungi, should I stop? Wasn’t sure if stopping that would help cut back on the amount of springtails I have.
@@daphne6973 if there's one there's a lot more. Don't worry, they typically stay in the soil. You won't really see them outside too much unless you have a lot of them. But that's good that you don't have many means that they have your mold contained
what if you started a series and you go around each room of your house and dedicate a whole day of doing chores for that specific area of your house (ex. living room). idk i think that would be really fun (and maybe less overwhelming to tackle?) anyways love your videos so much💗
Hoyas are in the family Apocynaceae, which includes Asclepiadaceae, or Milkweed! How often do you see aphids on milkweed? All the time! I think since they all have such similar "sap", theyre very attractive to aphids.
Fern!!! Have you thought of getting more orchids? I recently got into them and now they are a staple among my Aroids and Hoyas. I think you would really love some of the “bag babies” you can find at big box stores. I’d recommend checking out brassocattleya hybrids , they’re faster growing than most and in my opinion have some of the prettiest blooms! Btw what happened to the pink moth orchid you had a while back? Love your videos💚💚💚🌸

And hmm not sure which one you mean, maybe the mini phal I had for awhile? pretty sure that one perished in the move 🥲
Spider mites are my nemesis! I have such a hard time getting rid of them. I've got several plants with infestations right now. Luckily, we had some warmer weather and the lady bugs are taking over outside so I just stuck them out there. 🤞🏻 Hopefully they help me out!
