I envy the large plant stores you have there...the selections are awesome!! Your plants are beautiful!! (P.S. I am a subscriber..love your channel❣️❣️)
Good Morning From Seattle WA USA Love your channel !!! You still make me laugh and I actually get plant educated with a little humor . The Sheffield Show !
Good morning😊 I don't comment often but I absolutely love your Channel. And i love your sence of humor. Im excited to start receiving your news letter. I think i have over 50 plant babies and my family is growing very quickly lol.
It's so nice watching you show your collection. The summer is truly over even in the Mediterraneum and me and my plants will have to hunker down for the winter. Took your advice and got several growlights from Temu (no import fees to EU) and expanded my collection to the outer limits from the wondows (which are full). I got a few lovely exotic pink baby plants and I'll be watching them grow and have them brighten up the winter since I also work from home 😊
Nice to see a handsome, funny guy doing planty videos! I really love how your channel has evolved! Ur collection is so beautiful! Why wld u give a plant milk though? I guess it was a weird experiment?
Hi Rich. Your tour of your kids are the best I did see your tour last year and noticed the all kids have grow it seems double. As your children grow so do your plant kids I give Mrs. Sheffield a great respect. All the love you give your kids sills over to your children and Mrs. Sheffield. Even lady that is 76 year and counting feels the love and the returns to you by grow my knowledge On suggesting On suggesting carry. Your moisture meter and water can AZ you go. Your tour is making you happy and all us that warch. Talk soon no doubt 😇🤗😀😉
250 plants, WOW Man that's amazing. I've learnt heaps from watching your videos. On a previous video Mr. Sheffield said " if the plant can see the sky it's getting enough light". Where upon I made a long, low, very narrow plant stand 2.7 meters long and placed it below my three meter wide front window that only gets morning sun, it looks absolutely AMAZING.
please do a top 5 things you learned in 2023 and/or things you no longer do and moved on from. its great to know what stood the test of time and what didnt for your needs.
This was such a great video Mr Sheffield, me and my wife watched every bit of it! I do lots of experiments myself on here. I always have projects going on.
See how to keep my ferns healthy..”which is all pureeee luck” BAHAHAHAH omg I’m dying laughing Mr Sheffield your killing me you got me cracking up I love it!!!
Good morning 🌄🌞, Sheffield Made Plants. Your plants are so nice and healthy. Love , luv your plant tours. They never disappoint. Have a great day 😊!!!!
i love your videos so much !!! you’re so informative, entertaining, and funny. i love the little attitude you have, it’s great! but i think my favorite part of finding your videos (right now at least) is being able to see you and your channel grow!!! it’s so amazing to see how much you’ve come out of your shell since older videos. the energy is amazing and i can’t wait to see you, your channel, and your collection grow even more!! ✨🪴🫶🏻 ps: i especially love long videos like this, i’m huge on long form content and it’s so fun to see people talk about their plants for 1+ hour 🤣🧡 ESPECIALLY if it’s Mr Sheffield!
Tip for moss poles, use a VERY aerated soil mix like some chunky aroid mix, water when the outside is loud and crunchy, overwatering is not something to entirely worry about but it’s still good to look out for.
I have got around 15 plants and apparently, I thought it was a little crazy until I met you. In my culture, we have a saying that "Whoever does not visit other households thinks his mother is the best cook" Thanks for the tour around and love your channel BTW are you related to Johnny Sins ? Asking for a friend hehehe
Hello Sheffield from Puerto Rico!! It’s funny how we are always experimenting to see which one grows better. I’ve learned a lot. Nice plants…enjoy! 🪴🌱🌿
Your shelves are very nice and I admire how each plant has some space of its own, not all smashed together. I love the various pathos. They grow like weeds here in Florida, yet are so agreeable they are fun to grow, and so beautiful. We have several large hanging pots of mixed varieties. A neighbor has one climbing up a tree and the pathos leaves are gigantic!
I normally dont watch this type of grow vids since i grow Cannabis and Tomatoes mostly.........BUT stumbled on to this channel and have not stopped watching yet. Cheers mate. Keep up the good content. If you ever have any questions on indoor lighting when it comes to your plants, let me know. All my stuff is indoor so I could help you out with nutrients or your different grow mediums. Knowledge is power.
This was such a calming joy and gave me ideas for plants to get next for my collection. And I will be getting some of those trellises - love the style! Thank you! And always happy to hear one direction still helping plants. 😄
My piece lily is over 12 years old and is huge n a very big pot in my front room,I can’t repot it anymore because it’s way to big already. It always flowers even in the winter. Love your plants. I also have a pickle plant it like it very dry and sunny,it never loses leaves. I have 49 houseplants in my little bungalow.❤
Really nice and informative video, as ALWAYS!! 🙌🍃🌿🌱 The leaf shaped decor-holder for your Monstera Adansonii, is really cool 🤩 Thanks for a great tour of your stellar collection of plants!
Oh I’m so here for this!!! @sheffieldmadeplants about pothos growing into the wall plaster- they are very delicate. When they attach, they pull right off, and what they leave behind is very easily removed… I don’t think you should have any issues. I just pulled mine off the wall and moved it a couple of months ago one thing is, you may lose some of the foliage where it was attached to the wall, because the aerial roots will suffer after you pull them away. ❤️
Tips for plants in semi hydro. Use slow release fertiliser bits. I use the ones by soil ninja, you just sprinkle a bit on top and water when needed. They last about 8 - 9 months and makes water plants in semi hydro hassle free!
Thank you Mr.Sheffield for inviting all of us at your Home!! Wow your plant population is sooo awesome ❤. I currently have only 50 green friends living with me. By the way am I allowed to show this vid to my husband when he says "another new plant, again?" to me every time I get back home with something green and leafy peeking out of my bag? (Just kidding, he's quite happy with that. He'd better be😂😂😂)
I have a fitonia? Pink buhy plant. Ont dayvi came home and it was completely shrivelled. Not even recognizable as a plant. I thought it was dead but i put it in a bowl of water just to see if the rootssurvived. By the end of the day it had come back to life. After 2 days it .ooks normaland healthy.
I just started my moss poles in October… I now have 6 😁 I’ve learned the most valuable information from Sydney Plant Guy, there’s a whole moss pole playlist. He has many, many moss poles and the leaves on his plants are HUGE! He has water bottles with a hole punched in the lid ready all the time so he can flip the bottle upside down and the water drains into the moss. PlantsbyMelissa has pretty watering globes that are open at the top and she leaves it there and just adds water when necessary. My moss poles are young and the leaves are not getting big yet, but the roots are in the moss so it’s doing what it’s supposed to be doing.
I have 44 unique plants (not counting the babies propagating) and I was told I had a problem. I responded with, “it isn’t a problem until I hit triple digits”. 😂 I’m pretty sure I have the coziest living room in my town though.
Enjoyed your plant tour. However do you manage to water all those plants and keep them looking lovely? I've about half that many and find it really hard to keep up. So glad your children are showing an interest in plants, it's good to encourage them. I did that with my son when he was young and at 37 he has quite a large plant collection. A question for you, I know you use to use Miracle Grow fertilizer but have switched to another product. Do you notice a significant difference? Thank you for your videos I always learn something new and find you very entertaining.
Thanks for the tour. Note on winter watering: I see a lot of plant 'advice' that warns against over-watering in winter. My experience is that's not necessarily the case. Obviously it depends on where you're located, the amount of light available in your place and the humidity of your rooms. (I'm jealous of your generous windows. My little flat is a cave.) I find most of my plants need as much or more water in winter, and it's not like I keep my heat on a lot. Bottom line: use a moisture meter or your finger (fingers are okay for smaller pots, but for my big guys the longer probe on the meter is vital.) You have to know which plants like to dry out between waterings and which want a more or less even moisture state all the time. I have to check mine weekly, and a couple of the really thirsty devils need my attention every three or four days. Well...idle hands are the devil's playground...
I have a pickle plant who doesn’t easily drop its leaves I’m not entirely sure this is why it doesn’t but it’s what i do. My pickle plant sits in a southwest facing window getting a good 4-5 hours of direct sunlight, I don’t water too often. Pickle plants are succulents from South Africa, succulents and cacti can go very long without water and slow down their metabolism to conserve energy and water. I water mine when the leaves are pretty soft and mooshy, it bounces right back.
I enjoy watching your channel----plant content. When giving a tour, I think you would benefit from relaxing and little... maybe pretend you're talking with your children about your plants. =) Your plants are looking loved and very well cared for.
you probably noticed by now, but I think your alocasia azlanii is growing a flower not a leaf, you can see how its thicker at the bottom. I have all my alocasias and most of my other plants in lechuza pon as semy-hidro setup. I also have a green-orange plant that goes black, will try the water conditioner for it, thanks for the tip.
Good morning! Your house always looks so bright in your videos. I live in Michigan and we are also in the throws of winter. I have lots of windows but I swear your home has more light. Hope your New Year is filled with blessings. Can you drop a link to that beautiful lamp you bought on Amazon? Thanks.
I’m in England and trust me, our homes don’t look this bright right now. I’m included to think he has some sort of filming lights on to record videos, because my house has been depressingly dark for a couple of months now!
How very interesting, your plants are amazing thank you for sharing. I recently saw a video where a girl threaded her jade leaf cuttings on a string of cotton and hung up next to a window, no water or soil involved and within weeks they had produced roots and baby plants. Could also be an experiment you or your daughter might like to try.
I put long wooden panels on my wall for my plants to climb up. Not worth letting the aerial roots dig into the plaster. I learnt that lesson the hard way and was surprised by how much they dug into the wall.
I’m mostly amazed by how you can keep them all watered without overwatering. And that you can remember all their names😂 I have about 15 different plants (several of each) Mostly bonsai and small trees and I struggle to remember all their names😂
Tip for watering the moss pole, copied from Jan (moss pole expert by now)... Make a few holes in the cap of a water bottle and put it on top of the pole upside down. About 1 drop per second max, slower is better for proper absorption in my experience. Faster and most water will not be absorbed, gives the plant wet feet (what I'm guessing you're concerned about) :)
My tineke just dropped all of its leaves yesterday and trying to figure out why... probably need to cut off the top that still has a leaf and make a new plant and hope for success like Mr Sheffield had :D
This vieo is so calm and relaxing. Thank you for uploading this! Wow, it's already been a few months since the last 1 hour long tour video? Time flies by, doesn't 30:43 Weird. Like you did with your jade plant, I pruned one of my avocado trees two month ago probably. Because it was stunted and had suffered tranplant shock. Aand a few weeks after that, the top few buds started activating or getting bigger, two of them were looking promising. But only one of them continued to develop and form into a shoot. Don't get me wrong, the avocado tree is deligintly recovering, although it' slowly growing from the winter, because of the short days and cold drafts from the stupid old windows. I think it's going to grow more than 10 leaves in one set. I mean, the shoot or branch, if you will, is just growibng and growing and I'm not seeing the apical meristem or the end of that growth, at least 10 leaves. One of which has matured. And the damage from it being too pot/root bound and nutrient deficiencies has stopped spreading... completely. I pruned my main avocado that is suffering. I realised that if it weren't for that stick that I put a few months ago to support my tall avocado tree, my tree would surely have fallen or uprooted. The soil smells sour. I found a few worms in my soil, they looked like nematodes to me. I'm scared my tree has not many roots left. A few days ago, I found out the main problem to all the struggles of my trees wasn't overwatering or lack of oxygen, for the most part that is, but rather the type of water I am using. More on that another time for another day. The soil near the surface or a few inches below the surface smells sweet as well. Maybe salty as well, not exactly rotten. Admittedly, I haven't watched past 57:15. I will watch it tomorrow or maybe 2 days later at the weekend. It's so long to watch it in one go.
Good morning everyone.. how are we all doing this new year? .. ok so I have a few houseplants 😂 and it’s becoming a little bit of a obsession how do I get some control of this new love I have for plants 🪴 or is there no such thing as overly loving plants and the need to get a few new ones every week is completely normal ..
I honestly just got so stressed out and said to myself, if I can go without buying a plant for a month or 2 then clearly I don't NEED anymore, and if I feel like I can still handle more then I will buy some. But I doubt that's any help. I'm sorry 💚💚💚
IMHO if you have a few mother plants you can fill your house with cuttings of your favorites. I'm doing this with a few pothos in my house, philodendron dragon tail. I think most of the fun of having house plants is the journey of learning about nature and how it works. When we cross over into buying a ton of plants I feel it may lessen the enjoyment of owning and gaining a relationship with each of your plants. I talk to my plants as if they understand me and I do feel that they can feel the love.
@@andyandbee am sorry you feel that way. I hope things get better for you I find myself getting stressed when I don’t get new plants and it all started when I moved to Florida and got on UA-cam and landed on mrs. Sheffield, UA-cam channel i thought to myself a houseplant maybe nice for this new journey of my life and i haven’t been able to stop getting plants ever since i have started growing flowers in my yard bed and in my backyard smh 🤦🏻♀️ and with this being a new city and state for me I don’t know anyone so it keeps me motivated and my kids like it as well
Hi. Your plants look great. I have been considering getting a moss pole for one of my plants. Not sure which I would put on it but it would be something interesting and new
Very much enjoying your videos and information as a new indoor gardener, I wonder with your moss polls, if you might run some hydroponic rope maybe 2 lengths through the middle of the moss, with the rope tailing out f the bottom of the pole and offered into a water source? I’ve had real success using this rope in my greenhouse, growing chili plants, the rope dose not brake down over the season and it works very efficiently
I am growing my alocasia melo in pon as semi hydro for about 6 months now, and it grew 2 massive leaves, about to grow a 3rd one, and only lost 1 smallest, oldest leaf recently. I have all my 6 alocasias and 4 anthuriums in pon, with a very cheap grow light, and all of them loving life and growing well. Hope that helps.
The hoya in your kitchen is not the one that people said you were scammed on, it is the heart shaped one you got as a present, sometimes growers put only the leaf in the soil, without the stem , so the plant cannot grow without a stem node. You can take the leaf out of the soil and see if you have a node in there.
I love your plant collection. If you cut your coleos back it will fill out and be much lusher. I don't have a string of hearts yet. I have the string of pearls, string of tears, string of bananas, and string of dolphins. I have more succulents and cacti then I do regular house plants. Do you have outdoor plants too?
Ok I love your pots, I'm also finding the need for a few bright colors. You are now sitting on your couch holding your pride and joy, ( that sounds weird but anyways) where did you get the bright orange pot? I've checked Amazon and Etsy and stores around here and nothing 😳
Love your channel ! I have a big collection of plants , but love Peperomia . I can keep and propagate most except Peperomia Rosso , do you have any tips for keeping this plant alive ? I live along the Great Lakes in New York , cold and gray and cold this time of year ! Do you grow Peperomia ?
I watched your video last night. Very relaxing and informing, thank you. What however really caught my eye, was you holding some of your plants close up to the camera and the camera adjusting it's focus to get a better view of the plant, while then readjusting when you moved further away again. Is this automatic? Would you share what kind of camera you used for this video, please?
My spider plant ain’t well yellow leaves an falling out . Didn’t know she don’t like tap water ! Have to order some water conditioner. I do use bottled water on my calatheas an other tropical plants . Really love my spider plant I have 2 other one is thriving but I do give her less water . Don’t like to give up on them till they finally can’t take anymore .

You have to know which plants like to dry out between waterings and which want a more or less even moisture state all the time. I have to check mine weekly, and a couple of the really thirsty devils need my attention every three or four days. Well...idle hands are the devil's playground...
Definitely 💯
Thanks for sharing for "plant shop"
I like the calathea with define lines & alocasia.
Will try leca medium with self-watering next project.
Best of luck!
Great collection. They all look so good. I’m interested is how your daughters experiment went. Hope it went well and she got good marks. 😊
It’s all good. She’s only 8 so no marks 😁
@@SheffieldMadePlants that is a pretty sophisticated experiment for an 8 year old. I am impressed.
We same....i love u...many tips from u...all the bsst❤
I have a pickle plant who doesn’t easily drop its leaves I’m not entirely sure this is why it doesn’t but it’s what i do. My pickle plant sits in a southwest facing window getting a good 4-5 hours of direct sunlight, I don’t water too often. Pickle plants are succulents from South Africa, succulents and cacti can go very long without water and slow down their metabolism to conserve energy and water. I water mine when the leaves are pretty soft and mooshy, it bounces right back.
Hmm not sure what's up with mine then
I enjoy watching your channel----plant content. When giving a tour, I think you would benefit from relaxing and little... maybe pretend you're talking with your children about your plants. =) Your plants are looking loved and very well cared for.
Moss poles are great. I have two and I want to make more
you probably noticed by now, but I think your alocasia azlanii is growing a flower not a leaf, you can see how its thicker at the bottom.
I have all my alocasias and most of my other plants in lechuza pon as semy-hidro setup.
I also have a green-orange plant that goes black, will try the water conditioner for it, thanks for the tip.
Thanks. Cut it off in the end
I think that’s the magic of editing 😂. I need more light!
Thanks for the idea 👍
Looking forward to seeing how the moss pole goes. I had a try but it was a bit of a disaster for me as the soil was always way too wet.
Soil wet and moss pole dry is my struggle
You should get your son a goldfish plant. My kid gets a real kick out of the blooms it's the only plant he seems to actually enjoy.
I put long wooden panels on my wall for my plants to climb up. Not worth letting the aerial roots dig into the plaster. I learnt that lesson the hard way and was surprised by how much they dug into the wall.
Nice hack
I’m mostly amazed by how you can keep them all watered without overwatering. And that you can remember all their names😂 I have about 15 different plants (several of each) Mostly bonsai and small trees and I struggle to remember all their names😂
It took a while to be fair 😅
Tip for watering the moss pole, copied from Jan (moss pole expert by now)... Make a few holes in the cap of a water bottle and put it on top of the pole upside down. About 1 drop per second max, slower is better for proper absorption in my experience. Faster and most water will not be absorbed, gives the plant wet feet (what I'm guessing you're concerned about) :)
Thanks for the tip 👍
My tineke just dropped all of its leaves yesterday and trying to figure out why... probably need to cut off the top that still has a leaf and make a new plant and hope for success like Mr Sheffield had :D
This vieo is so calm and relaxing. Thank you for uploading this! Wow, it's already been a few months since the last 1 hour long tour video? Time flies by, doesn't
30:43 Weird.
I forgive you 😁. It’s a long one
Morning Mr Sheffield❤
👋
That's an Echinopsis cactus in the West facing window🙏💖Should have white or pink blooms in the Spring and fragrant too.
I think it does. Little things right?
Good morning everyone.. how are we all doing this new year? .. ok so I have a few houseplants 😂 and it’s becoming a little bit of a obsession how do I get some control of this new love I have for plants 🪴 or is there no such thing as overly loving plants and the need to get a few new ones every week is completely normal ..
I add to my plants by cuttings a little cheaper that way
Hi, only get plants that you will really love and do your homework on their care. Have fun!
Not sure which I would put on it but it would be something interesting and new
Go for it!
Very much enjoying your videos and information as a new indoor gardener,
I wonder with your moss polls, if you might run some hydroponic rope maybe 2 lengths through the middle of the moss, with the rope tailing out f the bottom of the pole and offered into a water source?
I’ve had real success using this rope in my greenhouse, growing chili plants, the rope dose not brake down over the season and it works very efficiently
Neat idea!
@@SheffieldMadePlants think I’m going to try semi-hydro then the rope and plant can use the same water source 🤔
Love this!!
Thanks!
Good to know thanks
The hoya in your kitchen is not the one that people said you were scammed on, it is the heart shaped one you got as a present, sometimes growers put only the leaf in the soil, without the stem , so the plant cannot grow without a stem node. You can take the leaf out of the soil and see if you have a node in there.
Oh yeah that’s just a leaf
Ah Purple Pallida, thanks I have that one but hadn't checked which Tradescantia it is
I love your plant collection. If you cut your coleos back it will fill out and be much lusher. I don't have a string of hearts yet. I have the string of pearls, string of tears, string of bananas, and string of dolphins. I have more succulents and cacti then I do regular house plants. Do you have outdoor plants too?
That looks more like an agave then it does aloe vera. I have several of both.
Yep we’ve got a small garden 👍
Ok I love your pots, I'm also finding the need for a few bright colors. You are now sitting on your couch holding your pride and joy, ( that sounds weird but anyways) where did you get the bright orange pot? I've checked Amazon and Etsy and stores around here and nothing 😳
That was from my local nursery. Can’t remember the brand but it’s a popular one at least in Uk
Yes I’ve got a few. They tend to really like lots of light even some direct morning sun. Don’t keep the soil wet
A Sony A7iv which has good autofocus
My spider plant ain’t well yellow leaves an falling out . Didn’t know she don’t like tap water ! Have to order some water conditioner. I do use bottled water on my calatheas an other tropical plants . Really love my spider plant I have 2 other one is thriving but I do give her less water . Don’t like to give up on them till they finally can’t take anymore .
Great to hear you discovered some extra space at the kids rooms,
that will teach them not to buy to much LEGO boxes and electronics 😂
Yeah right! 😂
Very nice 👌
Thanks 😊
Well now I need to know that’s the scam with that kitchen plant!! Maybe a whole video on the topic of plant scams?
Maybe 🤔
I enjoy your videos 😊
What are the yellow things in some of your plants?
Fungus gnat sticky traps
Out of my 80 plants I only have 11 plants in soil absolutely love hydro my plants grow better.
Nice 👌
