It's hilarious to see them fly off the ledges but my soul hurts at the lost loot every time.
Not sure if you realised that the Helm that grants invisibility is considered "Light armor" so you lost 3 AC by having it equipped.

I'm loving your series so much Pally, and we're also playing around the same pace, so it's so awesome seeing both our adventures unfold. You're super entertaing to watch and you're great at explaining your thought processes
BTW untill you change acts, and the game warns you about it you can travel all the areas in an act, meaning you can look at all the zones.
NPC 1 Gossip: Oh look people, it is the beggar hero, the hero that has nothing and is followed by a party of squatters. One of them only has a potatoe sack instead of a robe...
NPC 2 Gossip: I heard their rogue is so poor he uses a a robe instead of buying clothes, apparently he calls himself enlightened though :D
Backups are your friend Pally. Back up the configurations for all of your apps/games. Get local and cloud storage. That way, there is always a way to get your configuration and applications back without too much extra work.

Sounds great. If I had a shot at your settings, I’d allow you a higher ceiling, so when you get excited it doesn’t cut you out. Let’s see how the new settings go
Assassins don't get advantage on the first turn of combat, they get advantage on anyone who hasn't yet acted in combat. Also it looks like Nere's boots count as armour and you lost your monk bonus
He lost the monk bonus last episode when he put on the helmet

I'm loving these vids Pally, But it really pains my heart to see you launching enemies into pits and losing all the sweet loot, especially the big boss named NPC's from the goblin stronghold I want to cry 😢

Yeah, you can actually save that one slave by either attacking Nere before he interacts with them or if he notices and attacks you first (because you killed everybody else before then). She's associated with another deep gnome which there's a quest for, i think.
I ended up making Karlach into probably the strongest char on my team, bear rage keeps damage really low and I gave her those gloves in Act 1 that lets you roll to take less damage on certain ranged shots.
The other thing that pops up is that damage on a lot of weapons can be deceiving. A lot of damage is conditional (like that Axe you have) so it doesn't apply on most situations, its odd to see but sometimes you deal more damage using a weapon with lower damage.

Me and some mates accidentially found an alternative method to.. resolve the Nere, sergeant and gnome situation.
Suffice to say SPOILER!!! for a how to:
If you take the boat across and stay friendly with the duergar, through whatever means you see fit, he'll turn into a trader with a quest for you. They resent the drow Nere and are plotting to help you kill him. They just need you to destroy his supervisor sentry eye that follows you around as you walk through Grymforge. We pulled the eye somewhere sorta secluded, then went on our way towards the Ancient Forge. After making the armor and whatnot over there, we returned to Nere's spot, only to find him dead on the floor, along with the enslaved gnomes.
This resolved Spaw's quest for Nere's head, the delivery of the boots to the sergeant(we didn't, she was gone) and rescuing the gnomes (we didn't as they died). All the other duergar Pally fought in this video were nowhere to be seen xD. Kind of a meh outcome for a loot oriented mind like mine, but it sure saved time :p
Did you long rest twice once at Grymforge? That’s typically what triggers Nere’s offscreen death and the disappearance of the NPCs
@@TomDonahue That was indeed how it went, though not by my doing :P My mates are pretty reckless with their health/spells and usually require a long rest every other fight.
You still have a certain mirror to pass through that you left alone some episodes back...

So I started playing recently amd I am progressing much slower... but I found the bard that Zen kills in the druid grove... one of her lines of dialog is she is about to die a horrible gruesome death *pause* because she is sruck trying to finish writing a song 😂
I got to wait for the ps5 version. So these are keeping me sated till then. Keep em coming. And what did you do with the statue? Just a keepsake?
When I arrived there the game told me if I slept that Nere would die - I had to side with him to survive and feel cheated 😠

That fight with Nere can be alot easier if you talk with some people in this "town".

You made this fight 20X harder on yourself by not talking to to the other duergar first. Some will help you in the fight with the right persuasion.

It's based on INT because it came from her racial list (wizard spells), and her INT is low as a cleric. There's a reason it doesn't hit!

God, it took me two days of playing to get grimforge finished. The golem is an ass.

I do not know what the eventual cost of using the parasites will be (and don't tell me, I'll find out as my playthrough progresses), but the powers just dont seem worth it. I haven't looked up the out ring, but the powers just seem mid/tech at best.
Luck of the Far Realms is incredible, being able to guarantee a critical hit is a big deal on some classes like Paladin. And the one that lets you dash and knock everything over in front of you (Force Tunnel) is really good if you like going for ledge kills since it doesn't have a saving throw and doesn't provoke attacks of opportunity. And later in the game you get access to the outer ring which has some really crazy stuff.
@@MrOrdinaryundone Luck of the Far Realms certainly seems like the standout best, but isn't only once per long rest? And while it certainly let you damage spike with double smites, I can do the same thing with Portents, and I am not convinced it has enough impact over the whole adventuring day. Force Tunnel and Repulsor also seem good, but I am again leery of their limited uses and situational relevancy; how often would Repuslor be better than Shove, for instance, and will the timeline cooperate to let me capitalize on Force Tunnel. These are certainly powerful effects, but will they have enough use cases to justify themselves?
@quinnbell2388 Times per day isn't really an issue since you can long rest after every fight if you really want to. Like with Luck of the Far Realms you can critical smite on multiple attacks, even on reactions, which cranks your single target DPS into the stratosphere. Not necessarily something you need to do more than once per fight, just use it to burst down the strongest enemy in the group and you've already gotten value. Force Tunnel is an amazing positioning tool in addition to the knock down, and honestly it's better than repulsor or shove because it doesn't have a saving throw. It will always work, that's far far more valuable even if you only get one per rest since you can reliably plan around it. The case for repulsor being "Its shove, but its literally everything around me" which is a lot more efficient than using an entire bonus action just trying to shove one enemy. Many of the illithid abilities use your reaction or bonus action, which not every class have a good way to use efficiently which means a stronger action economy.
ok, i had though that most were still on Action. If they are Bonus Actions, they become a lot better. if Force Tunnel is not an Action and you can followup with the character, thats a lot better. Repulsor being an AOE shove is much better than just shove, strict upgrade and all, but I have been cutting thunderwave on my casters because I am rarely in the use case for an AOE knockback.
To be clear, I do think that some of them are good, but I very much have an 'in for a penny, in for a pound' mindset when it comes to the Illithid powers. Force Tunnel, Repulsor, Luck of the Far Realms, and First Impressions are the only ones that interest me, and I am uncertain if those are enough to warrant grabbing the suite. On my current character I am planning to experiment with them more, so mayhaps I shall be pleseantly surprised@@MrOrdinaryundone
