    It’s not just “change” itself that the locals are resisting, it’s the added traffic, insane prices, increasing crime… Where have we witnessed these changes before and has it boded well/worse for similar “small” towns (like Portland)?

    • @wollertz

      I totally agree, the sad reality is that I’m not sure it can be stopped, my point was make the best of what it is until it’s time to change

    Great video! For those of us who love our winters here in CDA, definitely NOT grey and depressing!
    What has become depressing is the late summer! The smoke in the air is so heavy that you can chew on at times (all the fires from California up to Canada funnel right in here). Not good for anyone who suffers from asthma to be here during the summer.
    As for the change & growth, yes a hard pill to swallow! However, we must remember that it is happening all over, and not just here. The only thing that can be done about it, is to push for BALANCE! Grab ahold of what makes this place so special, and protect it from disappearing!

    • @wollertz
      @wollertz  2 роки тому +2

      Thank you!
      Fire season has changed summer all across the west, making it extremely difficult for a lot of people.
      I couldn't agree more, balance and protection, there is a reason so many love the area, protected and keep it special!

    cold and grey weather isn't necessarily depressing. it can be calm and restorative. people are less active. there's less noise. it can be a time to slow down, rest, relax and recover

      I lived on 12th and worked at Bardenays in Riverstone for many years. I remember going to work at 3:30 in the fog, after waking up to a foggy morning, and by 4:00pm the sun was setting... sometimes with beautiful color in the sky that would last 15 minutes and complete darkness at 4:30. That to me is depressing. I can see the magic of the city now that I don't live there. There were the occasional clear days, but not that many!
      Just my experience of many years!
      cheers!

      I lived in Worley and it was fine, Liberty lake & post falls were fine, but when I got into CDA the fog lingered all winter 🤣I remember driving to work in Riverstone at 3:30-4:00pm and it would be grey fog until 4:30 at sunset and then just a splash of color for 5 minutes and that was it...
