Glad you mentioned his vocals in the end. People often say Warren is so underrated as a guitar player. I don't really like this categorization because it's used so often for so many players that it is almost pointless. However, if we assume he is underrated as a guitar player, he is even more underrated as a singer. One of the finest voices we have in Rock (Blues Rock, Southern Rock) we have these days.

I spent a month in the hospital with a shattered shoulder and I listened to Warren and Mule the whole time and I was off the morphine drip, oral pain medication and I found him and turned my iPhone up and just gritted the pain, thought I was going to die! Warren got me through, I m 63, and the PT girls loved it how much pain I was in and just gritting through it. It was a great way to get through!

Warren Haynes is a bad bad man. I got to see him live with ABB, Derek Trucks was there, and Susan Tedeschi opened for them. Oh yeah BB King was there too. Once in a lifetime blues festival in Houston in the 1990s.

I saw Warren on this tour and got to talk with him after the show at a club that I had played many times. Super nice guy! Signed a 8x10 photo for my future wife for free. Now days people would charge $25 for that. I asked him if he were born with all that soul or did he have to work for it. He just laughed and said it was mostly worked for it. I don’t believe it🤘he was born with some gift especially that voice.

I saw the ABB play a bunch of times in the 90s. There was nothing like them. They were one of the bands that we considered 'musts' along with Grateful Dead and Phish. Other acts we tried to see often include Leftover Salmon, Bela Fleck, Buddy Guy, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Mr. Blotto (underrated band in the 90s from Chicago), and ___________

I try to get UA-cam reactors to react to Warren (Gov't Mule) all the time but have no luck. Warren is one of the most talented musicians out there! He's a master on guitar, vocals and writing. There's many masters of those things individually but few of them all and Warren has it in spades!!
And best of all he's humble as can be. I've been fortunate and met him a couple of times after some Mule shows. Busiest man in rock n roll but still finds time to meet his fans. Love him!
