I didn’t think you guys should have gotten rid of “Dink it sink it” or “smash it bash it” just because someone said you should. It was part of who you guys are. Don’t ever let anyone influence you to be something other then your authentic selves just because some had there own opinion. I actually kinda miss you guys doing it. It’s what you did as a family. Stay true to who y’all are. But if you choose to not do it anymore then I will still love you guys and your channel. My daughter and I love watching you channel together and now every time we eat she says daddy dink it sink it. Love you guys and I’m glad y’all are have a blast here in the states. Your welcome anytime. Y’all stay safe on your travels and I’ll be praying for y’all’s safety. Thank you for your channel.
I had never heard that and it sounded fun and unique to me
I like bash it and smash it better
I agree 100%. I realized I haven't heard it for a while but didn't know why. Bring it back, please. That is a NZ Fam staple!!
Totally agree I’m a military veteran 47 years old. One thing I know as a Christian also I don’t let other people change me and I totally agree. They should bring it back.
Nah….it was kind of lame.
I’m from Boise and you rarely see people highlighting Idaho. Welcome to my hometown! 🎉
I prefer that we are not highlighted often. Best to keep it our secret. 🙂
Idaho is such a beautiful state..
they didn't really highlight it thought. I was expecting more from them
Hanging clothes up to dry is still a thing in USA, but most only do it at home not out at public places where people can mess with or steal your clothes. Also, kind of funny, but right behind you the whole time, there's a picture on the wall of clothes hung up to dry on a clothesline. 🙂
When I was growing up in the United States and some people had washers but no dryers, clothes fastened on a clothes line with clothes pins and drying in the sun was common but I haven't seen that for years.
It also gets very cold here in the winter...
@@stephenfisher3721 Same here. As a kid though I hated that the clothes would be stiff. Especially jeans. I love my fabric softener sheets too much now.
@@randallknapp7528
Clothes still dry in the freezing weather.
i think it's a conspiracy that the dryer makers formulated to make clothesline drying unpopular... because it's free. they want all our Quarters lol
I absolutely adore how much love and respect you pay to our American Flag!
They know their audience. And the pandering they believe themselves worthy of. All the people who react to America are the same when it comes to the brown nose of freedom.
@@Ahzpaynego somewhere else. they’re not pandering, you obviously don’t know the history of this channel.
Boise Fry Company, one if my favorite places to eat. Love the varity of dipping sauces. I luve in Nampa, Idaho.
Usually when camping, people bring their own dryer lines...you can get them at wal mart or anywhere for cheap
I've been watching your videos for awhile and am so excited you came to my home state of Idaho! You crossed the flat part but the terrain varies widely throughout the state. Lots of mountains here too. Hope you enjoyed your brief visit.
The game is ladder ball. Before you could buy it at a store we made it buy building the ladder out of pvc pipe and drilling holes in golf balls and running small rope through them. Great game!
Never heard of ladder ball.
So happy you guys came to Boise! There's so much more to do and see if you ever come back. Thanks for visiting!!
NZF, you guys absolutely destroyed that last platter with the Boise fries. No mistake you loved that grub.
Finally, Idaho!!! ❤ Hello from Boise!
I'm an American, and I've never heard of ice cream potatoes. America is so big and different all over. I agree with Nadine about Idaho potatoes. They are the best potatoes!!
That’s how I feel when I find someone local who has an accent from, New Zealand, Britain, Australia, Ireland, or Scotland. ❤. I melt! ❤❤
So happy to see you chose Westside for one of your Boise destinations. We've lived here 18 years, my husband longer. Westside is a Boise icon, some of the best diner food anywhere. Hope all of your USA journey is wonderful!
I'm so happy you enjoyed your time in Idaho! I live here so I know what you mean about the long flat roads. The building that you called European looking in Boise is our state capital building. If you happen to have gone through Idaho Falls, you would have seen the snake river that runs through the town. This state is great for people who love doing things outdoors, from hiking, camping, to hunting and skiing. The reason the potatoes are so tasty is because of the volcanic enriched soil. Thanks for stopping by our little state!
Welcome to idaho. Boise is beautiful. Lived there a long time. To bad noone told you to stop in twin falls and watch the base jumpers on the Perine brigde.
And the Evil Keneivel jump site!
Thank you so much for this video it helped me cope in a rough time. I also haven’t seen the speed limit that high either, so interesting. Also never seen a dessert like that, so cool to see. I hope you know how much your videos can help people.
Look at Nadine, driving that RV like a boss!
Clothes lines are a personal choice here. I myself use one.😊
As a Idahoan, glad your up here and I hope you love it. Drive north to Montana and Idaho for the best scenery!!! 😅
Been waiting to see this one! Love living here in Boise. Glad you got to experience it. The “Roman” building is the State Capitol building and Abraham Lincoln has a few statues around town because he established the Idaho territory in the 1800s when he was president.
This is the best travel channel on UA-cam ! I absolutely love it👊
One of my favorite types of UA-cam videos. Where I keep looking at the timer to see how much time is left, wishing it was longer. Be well family..
We put clotheslines in our backyards. Wonderful for drying sheets and towels. I just throw my towels in the dryer for 5 minutes once I remove them from the line to soften them.
the humidity isnt like new zealand for drying actually thats what is why you dry out doors... it only has like 10 percent humidity
@@LbB-e8j
🤔 What about in the Southern States? They get 80-100% humidity, and still hang the clothes out on the line. 😂
I live in Georgia and even with the humidity I love hanging out sheets, throws, etc. They have such a fresh smell. ❤
Idaho’s potatoes are the best for baking and adding what ever your hearts desires.
Have you tried baked Maine potatoes? They beat Idaho but are impossible to find west of the Rockies.
Your New Zealand accents should get you a bunch of free stuff cuz it sounds so cool to us lol.
Yep, many people here in Southern California and all of USA still use cloths lines. When the Santa Ana winds (warm winds) are blowing in Southern California, your clothes will dry within 10 minutes. Sheets smell the best when dried outside,
You are all wonderful and lucky to be able to travel as a family like this. What great memories to look back on. Watching you makes me smile. Love you guys. Safe travels and have a great time out there.
Love you all. Best family UA-camrs ever ❤❤
"I can't believe I'm sitting here in Idaho eating Idaho Potatoes". That's how we feel we when we are sitting in NZ, sipping on an L&P, and watching the All Blacks :)
Hope you're family is having a great time! Love watching you discover America. If you're ever in northern Utah. Take care or each other. 😊
I so appreciate your videos, you make everyone feel like part of your family. In the hardest points of my life over these past years, watching your videos brings a smile to my face. If you are ever in southern Michigan, would love to meet you! The town I live in does have the best ice cream shop in the state, it’s heavenly!
Southwest Idaho is the northern edge of the Great Basin desert. Hot, dry summers, mild winters. I love living here in Boise. Idaho's northern border is Canada, so yes, pretty far from the South 😂
You got the ice cream potato. It was invented by Westside Drive-In's owner, Chef Lou. His daughter is married to my son. Lou and family are the nicest people on the planet. Their food is AMAZING. It's the only drive in offering Prime Rib.
@@PtxXtp I think Atlanta saw the recipe for it and made it. Look at Nadine's reaction when she first tasted it and they mention in this video that Atlanta made it before. The kids look older now too.
@ yeah just I deleted my comment when they mentioned it earlier in the episod and then later showed the old clip. I hadn’t watched the whole episode yet and jumped to the end to see them eating it after reading the original comment. Lesson learned. Watch before commenting.
I realized something this morning. Last night, I sat through an entire episode, watching the search for the elusive perfect french fry and I enjoyed every minute of it. Lol Your family truly is something special.
Thank you for adopting me as a part of your family ❤️!! I feel like it. You are precious. Much love to you from California ❤
South Carolina as well.
❤to California!
@rodneygriffin7666 aww thank you!! This is beautiful ❤️
I’m in California too! 😊
I'm a Boise local of 42 years. It still trips me out how well known Boise is now.
I died laughing when you said it was hot cause I feel the same when it gets around 80 here. You are not alone. The heat here is brutal sometimes.
Hope your family makes it back. There are so many things to check out around here!
If you have to use a dryer again, make sure you empty the lint trap. If that is full it could slow the drying process.
A common problem in a public laundry.
Too bad you didn't have a mini washer. There are small washing machines you can use in a camper that have AWESOME spinners, that even hanging stuff up inside the camper and they're dry in an hour or so. I have one in my 1br apartment, and it's saved me a TON of $$ not having to go to the laundromat!!
Really?? She's a mom.Shes not an idiot
“Lend me some suga” Loving your road trip. Aussie here. “G’day mate” 🇦🇺 what accent? They’re the ones with the funny accents those yanks! (Love you guys too). ❤
Amazing story song choices lately love it! ❤
Westside Drive In was my first job!!
So glad you all love our beautiful State !
The game is called "Ladder Ball" We make these homemade using PVC piping, rope, and golf balls.
It looks like the game is derived from bolas used in South America for hunting.
Unless you are at an adult barbeque, in which case many people call it "Horse Balls".
All wrong. It’s hillbilly golf
See I was told
Hillbilly Horseshoes 😂
Looks like "string toss" instead of "ring toss."
I LIKE Your New Zealand Family WOW SO GOOD
Well done. Beautiful Family! Thanks for sharing your adventures!
Always fun to watch this family go on vacation 🎉🫡
Another great video. And Love the Mighty Oregon tshirt, Sam! ❤
Miss you Kim!!!
Atlanta had me laughing so hard when she was feverishly trying every single sauce 🤣
I think she ate more with those fries than she ever has on screen 😂😂. They must have been good. ❤
They go ape for the special sauces in the restaurants. Apparently that's not really a thing over there.
Thank you guys for allowing me to tag along and discover things I've never gotten to see in my home country , best wishes from Tennessee
Ladder Ball... I cant wait to see more from the Rocky Mountains, & Southern Utah hopefully!
I have to say, the best way to clean the front window, is. Open the door, stand in the vehicle, the door will hold you in. Wash window. So much easier to reach everything.
I'm an hour away from Boise. I would have driven over to meet you had I know you were here. Idaho has so much to see. I wish you had time to go to north Idaho. It is gorgeous in the mountains. We have a lot of lakes, deserts, mountains and rivers. Hope you come back when you can stay longer.
Boise has really grown in the last ten years, hasn't it?
Hanging the wash outside is an old tradition Some families in America still do it It was popular in AMERICA IN THE 1950'S-60'S AND EARLY 70"S Then the dryer became poular
I loved when my mom hung the clothes out on the line. We always loved helping her do it. And folding the large sheets with my mom and sisters. Great memories now that my mom has passed. I've learned that line drying is much better for your towels than the dryer.
In the country, we still do
@@user-High-IQ769 my best friend and nieces live in the country and none of them do. Too busy maybe. I would.
HELLO FROM CALIFORNIA. I LOVE YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR TRAVELS. I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE ENJOYING THE DIFFERENT FOOD.❤
There's definitely a TON of people in the US who still hang out clothes! We have a dryer but also a clothes line and we use both depending on the weather. We live in Northeast Ohio right in the middle of Amish country. You definitely see clothes drying outside even in the winter here!
We love our freeway speeds in Idaho. Needed because everything is so spread out. Dry heat of inland states hits different. Mountian Home, 40 minutes east of Boise, is an Air Force Base. The air shows in Boise are fantastic. Jumping spiders are pretty harmless, and they are great for the gardens. Westside Drive In is great. You could've walked into the capital building. It is really cool inside. The western drive from Boise across Idaho is very boring. If your neighbors are from Idaho, they will give you the whole salt shaker, invite you for dinner and desert, then send you back with leftovers. You missed Twin Falls, Idaho with the base jumpers, Shoshone Falls (bigger and more water than Niagra), and so much more. Too short of a time in Idaho. I know it doesn't look like much, but it has thousands of incredible places you could visit.
Shoshone Falls has a live video feed. I check it every so often, but we haven't had a really good year for the falls lately. I need it to have LOTS of water before I drive 3 hours to see it in person! 😂
@@minereally Yeah, I've seen it roaring in early spring before they divert to irrigation, and I've seen it at a trickle in the fall and winter. Beautiful every time, just in different ways. But far more impressive when roaring, it's truly spectacular.
Pretty sure Idaho is the best state overall with it's diverse and beautiful landscapes, good governance, lack of tourism, dry weather and outdoorsy community. Can't wait to move to the Boise area!
@ Born and raised here. Love it. Have spent the last 4 years exploring some of the more unknown parts of it, and am more in awe of it than ever before. Sounds like you already know you'll love it too. Look forward to having you.
LOL More deaths per crash.
I enjoy all of your content, but these trip vlogs are the best. Awesome stuff and really well done. Thanks!
And to end the video with a dune buggy ride! Most excellent!
Guys, your video editing and music choices are perfectly suited for your content. Professional editing! Well done!
Nadine borrowing salt and the whole conversation before and after had me cracking up! 🤣
As an Idohan I am so happy you enjoyed our state! My family and I loved watching this video!
Maybe I'm weird, but I'm always worried about birds pooping on my clean laundry if I were to hang it outside. 😬
One reason the dryer was taking longer might be that no one had cleaned out the lint in a while. That always adds to the drying time if you don't clear the lint trap.
Also for people with allergies, hanging put laundry leds to pollen and ragweed clinging to your laundry.
Yes. Make sure the lint trays are clear. They can be a hazard if there is too much build up. If you do find lint in the tray, put it in a baggie and keep. Its a great fire starter. I heard it and have put it to the test.
@@dianabumblebottom4598 excellent point!
In Hawaii we hang out laundry. Use the dryer about 10 times a year. Of course towels and sheets should be air dried for proper body contact and smell.
playing pickle Ball and saying "You're in the Kitchen" without realizing the rules of the game is funny. haha
Idaho is known for the Idaho Russet potato, although Yukon Golds, fingerlings, red and purple potatoes are grown there too. Russets are jacks of all trades. They can be boiled, mashed, fried and baked, but Idaho Russets are known best for being great baking (jacket) potatoes. The Yukon Golds are having their best moment in the US right now as they are now known to be the best for mashed potatoes. There are also Eastern Russet potatoes from the Northeast US, but they’re smaller and not as popular for baking.
The reason our spuds taste so good is because of the volcanic soil they are grown in.
My dad was born & raised in Boise.
During WWII, my dad was a civilian maintenance electrician at the big air base in Boise, Idaho.
My mom worked in an Oregon plywood plant making supplies for the war effort.
On your next trip you will have to stop in Twin Falls. The most beautiful waterfalls here. And the Perrine Bridge with its BASE jumping
Another smashing production! You guys amaze me with each episode. Thank you so much!
Just so you know, the "Old School Trains" you seen in Boise were actually "Old School Steam Tractors", back before John transitioned into a Deere.
The accent anecdotes at the end were hilarious.
Was showing mom some of these YNZF vids and she was also totally enamored with the accent. lol
Can't get enough of these....
@50:33 "go on you have magic powers, go ask the lady" had me dying with laughter.
La Grande is actually pronounced La Grand, the e is silent. It's been so fun watching you travel through the area I live in! Looking forward to the rest of your trip! 🥰
Came here to say the same thing! 😂😊
Correct! They seem to have forgotten that the French settled/discovered this area of the US.
@@EdnaFlanagan "Les Bois" City of Tress
It is not me with this problem, but rather the makers of this video who pronounced La Grande in the Spanish way when it is actually, French in origin with the e at the end silent.
I already know this, perhaps, you should teach/tell that to someone else.
6:49 nylon rope and clothes pins added to the must have list for the next RV trip ! 😘
The Idaho Capital Building (in Boise), is the only geothermal heated Capital in the Nation...
It reminds me of the State House building here in RI.
And open to the public! You could have gone inside - it’s beautiful in the rotunda 😊
LOL.
I love watching Sam eat, because he LOVES food so much. It's so satisfying watching someone enjoy what they're eating. Does that sound weird?
Kind of. Lol. But yeah it's fun to see someone truly enjoy some of the American classics in food. Europeans/commonwealthers especially seem to like Biscuits and Gravy, chowder, TX BBQ, and corndogs.
If you get off of the interstate you will see more scenic views. Glad you made it to Idaho come back soon
Your videos are an example of how to make quality and attractive content. Keep up the good work!🐞🐙🎤
Nah Denzel’s backpedaling forehand at 4:27 was so clean
Idaho is a pretty place and Boise is a nice place to live. I lived there for a few years and only left due to work. Glad you guys had so much fun on your trip.
I'm surprised you didn't get to see Craters of the Moon National Monument when you were in Idaho. Still it looks like a fun time. I'm enjoying getting to see what you did get to do. Thank you for sharing!
Putting this on my list. Thanks for sharing.
@@doloresbriseno2567 You're welcome.
The next episode looks awesome.
That truck hauling the blade has a driver at the back end as well he is underneath 🤗
Hi!! I live 8n Nampa Idaho, 16 miles from Boise. The game your playing is called Ladder Golf.. my husband makes this game as gifts for friends and family and we call it Redneck Golf!! I have watched your family for years, watched the kids grow. We truely love watching you all and your adventures! New Zealand is on my husbands bucket list. Maybe onw day... 😊..
We put our laundry out on the line in our backyard when it’s warm out. It’s not as common as it used to be. Some of us still do it though.
My mom had a clothes/washing line! They smelled so good when they dried! Great memories! If you ever pass a 7-11 store, They have excellent coffee! Way better than Starbucks!
Get a pop-up clothesline you can use, then fold up and store. I now live in an apartment, and I sometimes use one depending on what I washed.
Yes that’s what I have folded up and slid beside bed
Great video. We do put laundry outside to dry in my part of the US. Usually in our back yards. I think the practice varies from area to area as you travel across the country. As for the check engine light, sometimes if the gas cap isn't on properly the light will turn on. Reseating the cap often fixes it.
Arghh…this video popped up just as I need to leave. Oh well, right? Something to look forward to when I get home. Keep ‘em coming NZ fam!
Country people have clothes lines. I love them!
Another Great Video!
Ya know if 5 years ago someone would have told me that I would be joyful watching a UA-cam family sit and eat I would have laughed and said your nuts.
Yet, here I am with a big ol smile on my face!
My family has spread to the corners of the country, and watching these videos almost feels like spending time with the family and just hanging out.
Ladder ball! A family summer favorite. Hi from Michigan!
Awww, I’m just outside of Boise. I hope you enjoyed your visit. Most of the fields are also sugar beets. There’s a sugar factory and you smell it 🤢.
That was a lot of fun. Looking forward to the next one. 😊
Another Awesome Video Love your Channel
I'm glad you enjoyed Idaho, I have lived here for most of my life. Greetings from Caldwell, ID.
La Grande is pronounced La Grand 🙂
The pass between Pendleton and La Grande is definitely a mountain pass! The blue mountains. It feels less like mountains because it's not a complete upward climb.
The last few videos have been close to me. Grew up north of Vancouver, Wa. Moved to Pasco, Wa for a bit now back east of Vancouver and have family north of Boise!
I moved from Caldwell, Idaho to Utah a couple of years ago. This video made me super homesick! Boise is a beautiful city ❤
I'm in Caldwell. I can't believe they stayed 8 minutes away from me.
The game is called Ladder Ball, the first to reach 21 points wins. While at the campground, check the camp store for clothes line you can tie to your RV and a tree. Let the store know the machines aren't spinning properly. They'll have them checked. Check engine light comes on if gas cap needs tightening.
Here it's called ladder toss, but it's different everywhere I'm sure...lol
@@NerdyNanaSimulations I’ve also heard it called Hillbilly Golf. All different names out there!
Welcome to Idaho! It's so fun seeing vloggers visit my neck of the woods. ❤
The game you played is called ladder ball
You beat me to it 😊 Ladder ball!
They also call it Hillbilly Golf.
I have also heard Montana Golf
Called ladder golf here
It's also a staple during picnics and barbeques, especially during Independance Day!
