Your car is indeed fast. While watching the video, I noticed that the transmission shifts at 6,300rpm @ WOT. This adds approximately 1 second to your accelleration time, since the airflow is reduced a bit after about 5,900rpm. If you are able to program the transmission to shift at 5,900 rpm, you will be the proud owner of an even faster BMW. Thanks for the vid!

What does the Dinan transmission software include? I'm looking to do a similar set up on my 540, and don't want any transmission issues...

VF claims they bump up the HP from 282/290 (depending on model) to about 415-420. But $6k plus more for the Dinan tune you could just use the the difference sell the 540i then buy an M5. With the M5 you'd get all the extra goodies like interior, bumpers, LSD, suspension, sway bars, etc... After you SC the 540i then have to add the cost of the other parts as well. Now if the SC was 1/3 the cost then it may seem worth it.

      +DaytonCarCare
540i is much, much, much cheaper to maintain due to non m5 parts
also, m5 never came as a wagon

+Ryukachoo A M5 wagon would not be on my shopping list. Though not sure what exact parts that you would have to replace on a regular interval that would warrant an M5 much more expensive to maintain. Common maintenance items would be filters and fluids, Beyond that would be bushings, bearings, alternator, shock/struts, fuel pump, water pump, etc... Though that would be over a long period or after many miles and after replacement you wouldn't have to worry about again. It would not be something like a Ferrari that you have to remove the engine for some services like a valve adjustment at regular intervals.

a lot of people actually prefer the 540i over the m5 too. it has a certain charm to it

@ 0:22 I really didn't like how it dug deep into the redline. I don't think the engine would last long doing that too often.
