Your gripes on the tongue are a positive for me. I don't want extra material in the area to interfere with dorsiflexion, even if it's just in my head. I prefer to tie my laces first for a proper fit, and then cover them with the velcro strap.
I don’t think I’ve ever tied my laces on any lifter I’ve worn after locking down the straps. Lace up first then lock down. The other way around just doesn’t make sense to me since the laces are underneath the straps…. 🤔🤔 But a nice detailed review 👍 I got these recently after lifting in Rom 2s for 4 yrs. The main thing I notice is connection to the ground. The front sole is less dense and more flexible. I find this beneficial for the split jerk & especially floor contact with the back leg. I find it easier to find a good split. Whether or not this will wear quicker only time will tell. But the front sole feels very much like a metcon CrossFit shoe. If you’ve got Rom 2s that are broken in & have a wide foot you should probably stick with them. I don’t notice a huge difference in the toe box (splaying of toes etc..) I find the toe box to be a different shape… but not necessarily wider. And I got big blocks for feet! Just my 2 cents.
Just watched your video and really enjoy your honest review. Been doing lifting for about 2yrs and I decide to buy lifting shoes. Could you please help me to decide: 1. Since it's my first lifting shoes, is TYR suitable for me? 2. My Vans' size is perfect at 42.5, does TYR has to be sized up or just the same size?
@@ForTeamTang I wear nike romaleos 4 9size but the toe box is a little small even my foot width is 250mm. How about this? What do you think of the size?
These fit small and they don't have half sizes on their web site. I wear a 12 and it feels a bit tight. If this is considered a wide toe box, I hate to try normal lifters from someone else.
Their size chart lists half sizes from 4.5 to 12 and only whole sizes from 12 to 16. Ask if 13 might be better for you and there's 30 day return window.
I’ve worn shoes of all types and I’ve literally never had any shoe where I thought this shoe has enough width. I’ve absolutely never came close to this shoe has too much width.

1. No problems, TYR would be great!
2. You probably would be good with the same size
Hope you enjoy!
can you do a video on Hallux extensus aka ‘cock-up’ toe deformity
Is this good for wide feet? I'm 100mm width and 250mm length
It is one of the few that I could recommend for wide feet

@@HCNY These will be wider for sure!
Did you buy the Tyr shoes the same size as your Reeboks?
Yes I did!
Do you feel personally these shoes have mor room than the ROM 2? Thank you
Slightly more
@@ForTeamTang awesome thank you I was trying to determine if it was worth the upgrade because I too have very wide feet and I also wear barefoot shoes

I'm Asian and need to bulk up to woo female suitors. I hope this shoe helps me 👍
Still to narrow for me - my dad must of been a duck :D
Anta and ASICS 727 are also pretty wide and have better quality💁🏻♂️
That heel projection behind could break your neck if you ever walk down stair steps.
