How is it possible to call a vehicle that is TOTALLY designed, constructed and manufactured in Sweden long before that bae bought Hägglunds is called british made?..
IKR, the Brits have some strong, innate, NEED to put a "BRI'ISH MADE"-sticker on other people's stuff, it seems.
i think the british put the sticker on it because they bought it not because they developed and i don't see any info about the British saying they had done any development on it
Envy
They are trying to do the same with the NLAW.
Typical brit stuff sadly.
Shame on you to call a 100% Swedish Design British!
How can you tell people it's a British built machine? It is invented and always manufactured in Sweden. British BAE has since bought into the bandwagon.
Vi vet men vi bryr oss icke, den används väldigt sällan. För oss är brobyggare och CV90 det vi använder, låt dem ha denna, vi har gott samarbete med Britterna.
I believe the origin is Bv (Bandvagn) 202/203 which was developed in the 50s by Volvo and taken into service 1961.
That was followed up in the 70s with Bv 206/208 which was made by Hägglund & Söner who won the contract beating out Volvo.
The Bv series has been amphibious since the Bv 202/203 so nothing new with the Bv 410.

This a great piece of kit and the British really love of our stuff here in Sweden. But calling this British is a bit of a stretch, it’s like calling the Bradly British, yes it’s also made by a subsidiary of BAE. But it’s like the NLAW it’s made by SAAB but our British friends still claim it. But I don’t mind, I’m happy we’re working with you. 🇸🇪❤️🇬🇧
So, the UK defence procurement wanted something better than the BV206 for the Afghani lethal environment. They went to the BAE, which is an umbrella company for a bunch of military development and producers of different nationalities. BAE asked what do you want it to do And then sent the answers to Hägglunds in Sweden. The maker of the UK's BV206 came back with the "Viking". The UK part was to ask for something better for the deployment in Afghanistan...... UK uses it they did not develop it.
Weird that he doesnt mention Sweden since we are the biggest user, we bought 150 BVS MK IIB in 2012 and we have like 400 more on order. We even use them for AA, it is called RBS98.
We currently have about 500 in the Swedish defense at present
Not weird at all, it's the Military World channel. What is weird is when they get *anything* right.
Swedish inventions are top notch.
The brittish bought in to a Swedish company = Hägglunds and becouse swedish people in genral are so kind and humble and think good of people they gladely with a happy heart sold it to the brittish. Happy like a puppy = unbelievable naive but I hope it will strengthen the relationship with the brittish.
The Finns where beutal instead.
We had these Swedish models as well in Finland.
But strange enough also a Finnish type, that looked exactly like the Swedish type.
Only a bigger engine and heating system for both wagons.
Rumors where that it had made Sweden quite angry and they claimed that Finns had made en exact copy, whithout permission 😮... So no money to Sweden, thank you very much 😢
Made in U.K. is the stamp of poor quality, thankfully this was fully developed and manufactured in Sweden.
True, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar, Aston Martin, McLaren etc. are all poor quality😁
@@keithknight42 I call your Aston Martin and raise you one L85
This bandvagn we used when i did my military duty and it was finished 1991, then the bandvagn was used for seweral years, no way, this is swedish al in.
Developed and built by the same company that does the CV90. Testament to the great things that comes out of defence cooperation between Swedish and British defence industries. Similar to the NLAW that was developed by another Swedish defence company SAAB Bofors Dynamics and produced by a British company. Hopefully we will get a lot more of this in the future. We need to really step up defence production now.
It was developed for the UK military. But it's more Hägglunds in collaboration with the bae system! They are built and produced in Örnsköldsvik.
Maybe need to rename the title, it is swedish-made from Hägglunds. Otherwise a nice video! :)
BV 202 made by Volvo, Bolinder Munktell from the end of the 50! From 74 it was the Hägglund that made this.
Swedish!
I have extensive experience with the 206. Yes half power (Audi 5 cylinder turbodiesel in 89) but is is also light. It has a webasto diesel heater (functioning with a engine off, ie no noice) aswell as the normal El hester and we lived in it down to - 40 celsius only using t-shirts.
We used the BV206 (Bandvagn 206) in 1985/86 when I did my military service and participated in the winter trials with East German MT-LB after the fall of the Soviet Union, the Finnish SISU XA-180 (later designated Patgb 180, Pansarterrängbil 180) and a mock up of what later became the BV206/306 that is the first armoured of Hägglund's BV. Sweden bought a bunch of the MT-LB (later designated Pansarbandvagn 401, PBV 401) to quickly get some armoured IFVs but continued to develop the BV206S/306. The BV206 is made of composite plastics with almost no protection.
Good bit of kit,highly adaptable.
So we had that back in the day... I don't know how that is British though but I won't complain about it. The UK has been a vital partner and the best people I served with were Brits and Germans.
It's SWEDISH

I think I saw this vehicle in a 1990's Sci Fi movie 🤔
"Plat, flain desert" was a new expression to me. (3:02)
lol I was about to google "flain". :D
Its only swedish🇸🇪
Yes 👍 but British use it 🤙
@@CombatReadyHQ 🇸🇪🏴
Simply Brilliant.
🙏🤙
We had these when I whas in the Finnish Defense force in the early 90:s..
It's was the Finnish Sisu Nasu that looks like Swedish model (copy of that🤔).
It was equipped with real good heating system (in the last wagon) and thats needed because it could drop to as low as. - 43 degrees celsius.
😱🥶🥶🥶.
This type had also a bigger engine a V8 diesel engine.
The Swedish type had a V6 engine and no heating in the second cabin.
I remember how cold it could be, felt almost colder than it was outside.
But that Swedish model was an older model and I understand that it's not close to be like a model of today.
We could use them one a couple of time, because we had to use our skies as "vehicles", but not the Capitans or the other officers. 😁
Too bad they mix up differnt variants of this vehicle... 308, 309 410 and many others witch is very different from eatch other. I wish they would seperate them and not just call them all for bvs10.
More like a submarine..
British 🤣🤣
Seriously, block and remove "Military world" from your recommendations, as that channel has more errors than gets edited away from Wikipedia on a daily basis.
I swear, at times I think MW scarps those discards as "info" for their next video.
It doesn't seem well protected though and isn't really an IFV, unless a big chain gun and/or like Bradley turret can be put on it.
Considering it's not meant to be an IFV thats not really a flaw.
