Nothing better in our book than the Johnsonville Fresh original or even better Maple links. They produce a precooked Link as well that you just nuke and are very convenient but not as good as the fresh links. Great flavor options….

Farmer John was a fixture here in the L. A. area. They produced "Dodger" hot dogs for years, but the plant closed recently. I believe they are owned by the Smithfield company. I also wondered why the sausage links you showed during the Farmer John segment were not Farmer John sausages. Most of the shots showed links in casings.

But I’m a pork sausage person and we have uses Jones and Jimmy Dean sausage as far back as I can remember and it’s good to see they are near the top of the list.

Didn't learn a thing other than the fact that you include non meat products when you shouldn't. Sausage is made from pork and or beef. Never has a turkey, chicken or plants make anything like a real sausage.

Hello...I worked at "Perkins" pancake house for about 5 years back in the 80s. We served "Tennessee Pride" sausage...oh so delicious. Us waitresses would snatch a sausage link every time we had to go into the kitchen especially on Sunday mornings when we were busy. The cooks would have to put extras on to cook just to keep up with orders. I don't even see TP in grocery stores anymore. Not even sure they're in business anymore. Bye from Ohio
@joycemiraglia280 Thank you, yes, Tennessee pride. It's still available. It's an every grocery store here in Tennessee. You can order online, so it is still available. And it still tastes just as good as it did back in 80s.🫡
The best sausage I ever had was in the UK; “Bangers” have the crispiest natural casing and snap like a celery stick when you bite them. I have been trying to find where I could buy them in the USA.
Most of the bangers we were served while in the UK on vacation did not contain much meat, but thankfully came with plenty of scrambled eggs. Marmite/Vegemite did not grow on me…
I buy fresh ground pork with 10% fat and add my own seasoning with recipes you can find online. Legg's number 10 sausage seasoning is also great and it doesn't have MSG. You can find Legg's seasoning in butcher shops and some country stores where locals butcher pigs. I do not work the seasoning into the meat because the Legg's package says it will season 25 pounds of pork. I just sprinkle it on top of the meat patty.
Ya can only get what's local, I buy 3 kind Jimmy Dean original roll, Bob Evans - hot, reg, sage roll or Walmart hot patties ( nice 4 sausage biscuit ). Love maple but shy away in my sausage and don't even try to sell me on nonpork, or plant based please. I actually prefer Bob Evans over Jimmy Dean which I find greasier, however it's close and when we had a shortage of Bob the Jimmy's covered nicely. I'd love to try some of the others but their not available from Wally World.
My local supermarket recently had a terrific sale on a warehouse club store-size package of Jimmy Dean's pork sausage links ($4.99 for a 48-count package). They're quick to cook in the microwave (just 1 1/2 minutes in my daughter's dorm room microwave, now in my kitchen), and have a better flavor than the Banquet brown & serve sausages (although I rather like the Banquet turkey breakfast sausage links). Since my husband doesn't like pork sausage himself, pre-cooked microwaveable sausages are a must at our house.
I'm not a fan of pumpkin pie spices in sausage, so I don't like the Johnsonville. I prefer the standard sage, salt, black pepper, with a touch of red pepper, and maybe a little maple syrup.

Breakfast sausage is made with pork. Veggie stuff ain't breakfast sausage. Also breakfast sausage should not contain sugar. Sugar is the reason sausage burns before it's fully cooked.

I was actually bought here by my question for Google when I asked it if Smithfield was the worst sausage in the world. I think I'm going to throw it away because I can't eat fat like this. Never in my life have I seen sausage that was nothing but fat with no meat in it at all it's just a solid clump of white stick sausage the taste almost as bad as it smells. 🤢
