yeah, I really like the S21 Ultra design a lot. Samsung had the unique and cohesive brand identity going for them with the camera module seamlessly melting into the frame - but then they had to fuck it up with the individual camera lenses for the next generation. Good luck. Most likely the SSDs fail and you are not able to repair anything of that kind of matter if there is not a clever guy who can rewrite the protocol of pairing that apple does.
Hard not to think from all the benchmarks and specs that m2 is just a slightly overclocked m1 with slightly different core counts, which means it actually only fills in space between m1 models rather than replacing anything. So why would anyone who sees that crossgrade if they already chose their price/performance level and m2 doesn't improve the price/performance curve, only adds extra options I'm between?

And "what benefits come with the newer version?". If it'll last long enough and is within 10% - 20% of the new one. Its a simple choice to take the older one. Only exception is when its tour first try of a new kind of product. Since you wont personally have a good frame of referance. The newer one, but get it in sale.

Same! Not upgrading until Face ID is in the notch!
I like the Touch Bar so much I couldn’t get rid of my 2020 m1
I love my M1 mac book air from 2020 its a beast and perfect for college! I highly recommend it.
M1 MacBook air is definitely worth the money. The battery life is insane, performance is more than enough for day to day use and it can even handle some heavy tasks without sweat. Updates will keep rolling for years in the future and the fact that there is no fan means there is less points of failure and the need to clean the inside. its so convenient and small too.
M1 MacBook Air is awesome but plagued by the flex gate issue. The Apple Store says they’ll have to change the display for a broken cable that’s too short.
What's that?
@@nazeefkhan4290 Its where the flex cable that connects the ;mother board to the display is too short and it sometimes breaks when you open and close your monitor on a MacBook many times(or to its full extent).
Fr this flex gate issue is no joke. 3 of my close friends have the m1 air and 2 of them got flexgate issue recently and since they got those at the time of launch, its a nightmare to fix now since they are out of warranty.
I thought something was up. I didn’t even have my m1 a full year and the screen just goes black but the backlighting is still working. It takes days for the computer to come back on.
@@mikeo.4203and that don’t acknowledge it. Because if they do, they’ll have to call all of them back.
Got mine repaired at a local repair shop for 300 USD . They claimed that the screen is OEM from LG and the quality suggests so, however that meant that they changed the camera as well(the camera comes in-built with the screen panel), which is horrific now(very low res). And that is your best chance at getting your M1 MacBook Air fixed for a low price.
M1 899 euro / M2 is 1069 euro / M3 1349 euro .. all base model, which one should I buy ?
M2
Still rocking the M1 Air. So happy with it! If I want to upgrade I would chose a 16M1PRO
I have an M1 Max 16 inch MacBook Pro and it’s so fast I have no desire or need to update it. It’s perfect.
Pristine, like-new M1 Pro 14" refurbished models are going for around $1240 these days. Well-worth the price.
I bought my 2016 pro 15 inch with 16gb ram. 4 usb ports. 600 dollars. That 1200 dollars sounds excessive for a small screen laptop.
@@victorfernandes83 Perhaps. To each their own :)
with an lcd low refresh rate? slow intel inside? @@victorfernandes83
My M1 Air still performs as new🔥
Although M1 is just fine, thr M2 has way more powerful efficiency cores. If you use power saving mode often like me, M2 could actually make a difference.
what does power saving mode do exactly?
I presently own and M1 Mini, and M2 pro Mini, and an M1 MacBook Pro. The one thing that bothers me is that they sell an 8 gb version. For anything past word processing and web surfing, it's woefully inefficient. And it's not just me...the only Minis I see for sale used all have 8gb of RAM.
I love mine. Nearly flawless laptop for general use
I found M1 Air for $899 vs $999 M2 Air $100 difference which one should I go with? I'll be using it for school and video editing. I'm thinking M1 will have everything I need. But for $100 more will it be worth the upgrade?
M2 definitely. You get a couple of extras that are nice with the M2 air.
@everythingreviews3336 what features cause a lot of people are saying don't get the base M2
Fyi , current as of Oct 2024…
M1 Air - Walmart - $649
M2 Air - Best Buy - $749
Spot on! I am still rocking the M1 mac book pro and I don’t think I’ll buy anything till the SSD chips die.
Same, I can be editing 4K video, doing something in photoshop and have a stupid amount of tabs open and it’s never skipped a beat!
I have an M1 Pro and it is still running smoothly. Boots up quick. No lags. Has not freezed up once. I can say this computer will last a few more years. Couldn’t have made a better investment. I jumped from an iMac 2012 and waited until the M1 Pro. Worth the wait.
I’ve had my 16” M1 Max for a while now, and love it. I hope to keep using it for another decade of use.
Good luck. Most likely the SSDs fail and you are not able to repair anything of that kind of matter if there is not a clever guy who can rewrite the protocol of pairing that apple does.
Facts! I’ve had this one, and it’s an absolute work horse! Best bang for your buck
Makes me wonder how and when windows will start pushing arm versions to compete
Hard not to think from all the benchmarks and specs that m2 is just a slightly overclocked m1 with slightly different core counts, which means it actually only fills in space between m1 models rather than replacing anything. So why would anyone who sees that crossgrade if they already chose their price/performance level and m2 doesn't improve the price/performance curve, only adds extra options I'm between?
The only downside I found was the inability to use multiple monitors without DisplayLink.
helps sticking to an M1 max macbook when u have an m1 ultra mac studio already but okay lol
«I just save myself a hundred fifty buuckkss»
Hell yes!! I love my M1 MacBook Air. No lie best laptop I’ve ever purchased. I have no complaints.
I’ve been saying this for years and everyone calls me a fanboy. It’s just an awesome laptop! Lol
@@stumpf9938 Hahaha very true! It’s just great.
I got m1 air and it’s been everything I could ask for, college/it worker and I love Mac personally so its nice knowing big influencers are doing the same
How's the compatibility with Excel? I work in finance and it's really important for my workflow
Just bought M1 air very amazing Katie. No regret and don’t care about dressing at all and got it 512gb 16gb which is way better for the money than any other
Whos Katie?

I mean its the normal thing you should always look to do first. I like to think of it in the context of "will this do what i need it to for 3 years or longer?" And "what benefits come with the newer version?". If it'll last long enough and is within 10% - 20% of the new one. Its a simple choice to take the older one. Only exception is when its tour first try of a new kind of product. Since you wont personally have a good frame of referance. The newer one, but get it in sale.
I'm a student in the Data Science field and mine MacBook Pro M1 8GB struggling with opened VS Code and couple Google Chrome tabs opened. Definitely should have bought more RAM. I'm thinking to buy M3 Pro, that will be the laptop for years to come for me.
Macbook Pro M1 Pro is still good option actually. It comes with minimum 16gb of ram
@@PradiptaGitaya thats a lie as I have 8 gb of ram
M1 Pro Max is just THE only one. Got all the bells and whistles, powerful, can be used as a desktop, got all the ports. That’s why I bought one this year.
Just got the MBP M1 Max and save 1100 on it from B&H, it’s the one I’ve been wanting for a while and now that I can actually afford such a machine it’s incredible! Hope it’ll be a great upgrade from my old 2017 iMac with intel 7700K
Just ordered the m1 air after hearing so many recommendations
hows that going so far? been thing of getting a m1 as well
I can’t seem to find m1 anywhere
The quantum leap will always exist if you are on old hardware for a long time then move over to new hardware.
I cannot wait to get my 12.9” iPad Pro with M2. People say it has minor improvements over the M1. I’m still using my 9.7” iPad Pro from 2016. That will be a huge insane quantum leap for me. Going from an iPad with the minimum multitasking to a power house with dual display support. I can play Xbox game pass on an external display while exporting an HEVC 4K timeline to an external SSD while talking to my brother during the game on FaceTime. Mind Blown 🤯
I went from 2012 MacBook Pro to 2022 m2 MacBook Air last year. I basically had to upgrade because newer versions of Microsoft office wouldn’t work on my old one. The difference was absolutely nuts.
you got the ports, holy shit you got a port that a really unique
Keep maxed out m1max 16 or sell?
M1 Air is crazy good. Got mine with 16 gb of memory wowie
Same here, it’s really good, hasn’t caused any issues, so no reason to upgrade.
Can you please link me to where I can purchase the exact one he's talking about? I produce music for a living, do you think it will be sufficient? Thank you.
M1 is low-key really good. The other models but it mostly for designs on the other Ms
Here i am looking to upgrade and MKBHD just made me realize i don’t need to spend the extra 😂 Technically needed upgrade for upgrade sake cause my M1 still works great with 97% BH now i feel better. Thanks Marques.
i upgraded to m2 max from a 2016 intel, i probably should’ve just got m1 max or pro but i’m not mad about my decision should last me a few years anyways which is what i was aiming for. i don’t see the reason to upgrade if you already have m1 pro or max
M1 Max or ultra or air what's it
he uses M1 Macbook pro, it has the M1 Max chip. He recommended to his friend the M1 Macbook Air which has the M1 chip
I have the M1 MBP and I love the Touch Bar, I’m sad to see they are removing it
The seriousness in that mans face tells it all use that dam m1 mac
I'm typing this on an M1 Mac mini. Such a great device, and really affordable
The M1 is a tank cant blame him
M1 MacBook Air is a beautiful thing. The design is better as well in my opinion.
Those electrolux ne27 mics or whatever are great and look stunning.
Just bought one and its feels great
Just ordered the m1 air, I have a 2020 MacBook pro(before they changed to m1) and I literally get 3 hours out of it unplugged if I’m lucky. As a new law student having to take my laptop from class to class and won’t always have time to plug it in that was a dealbreaker for me. I hear the m1s get great battery life so I’m looking forward to that
Hi, hows ur macbook battery doing? i planned to get myself a m1 air too. But worried about the battery life. You mind to share ur experience with the battery and daily use?
if apple put real cooling in their laptops their wouldnt be such a big leap, you hav get a 13th gen rtx 3070 laptop for the price of the m1 macbook pro
My M1 max is pretty good, the only thing that makes me want to switch to m2 or m3 is that 64GB is not enough ram for After Effects sometimes
Thanks for looking out!
Should I buy pro m1 or M1 Pro getting both of them at similar price ??
