Hi guys, not a Ned specific comment here. 4 months ago I got to borrow my cousins kayak and brought along a baitcaster and a friend gave me a little piece of junk hollow frog bought off Amazon for 5pcs@$10. Its was crap! I hooked about a 5#er after a few days going to this pond nearby. Since then I've been painfully aware what real life addiction looks like-to tackle, gear, and especially techniques! Thanks forever to yall both for the videos that have started to change my life in a specific and amazing way. I'm an ex-drinker who needed a healthy outlet so badly- and have rediscovered a passion from my childhood thanks to that cousin, a China frog, and the information you both provide so readily and consistently! I could never say thanks in a way that would properly express how life has changed for the better here in Maine for me... so grateful to the powers of the universe that have realigned my senses of what's important and real and good. Thanks again forever for helping this happen. Best wishes TZ
Yup, I would save my torn up senkos to use on a weightless T-rigg on pressured ponds. That gets bit when nothing else will especially when they are just big enough to be rigged on the hook properly.
Dude......someone seriously, tell me how the hell peric can have close to a million subs And these guys be sitting where they are. Love the channel guys pl3ase dont ever stop doing what you do
Because ap is entertaining and unpredictable. While giving information on a variety of things these guys videos are all the same. They are more like a reference book than a narrative.
I haven't been fishing quit sometime and all your show are assumed and love them. keep them come. Just moved to AZ and just started gearing up and taking notes. Thanks
I got schooled on ned rig by a older fella out here in eastern nevada...never forgot it, and next to the Texas rig, is one of my favs....thanks guys for the hard work
Due to a freak accident to my casting hand, I've come back to conventional bass fishing after primarily fly fishing for the past 15 years. I found your channel and read a lot of your reviews and picked up new rods and reels to outfit myself. I also repeatedly watched all your finesse technique videos, especially the ned rig ones, so I could try them out on the water. I tried the ned rig this past weekend on a local river in rainy, low 50s weather. Threw a green pumpkin TDR on a 1/16 Owner block head jig using 10lb Sunline Asegai braid with a 8lb FC leader. First fish was a small 10 inch Largemouth. Second fish I landed on the ned rig was a 5lb Largemouth! Now I am excited to try shaky head rigs, neko rigs, drop shot, etc. and see how that goes! Thank you Matt and Tim for all the great info and tips! I'm a proud follower of your channel now!
I got to admit Tim and Matt you guys have grown on me and I think you’re passion for the sport is awesome and your dedication to your fans puts you at the top of my list! 👍🏼
Matt and Tim, Nice to see you devote an entire buyers guide to The Ned Head a finesse style bait. Tossing one of those on Matt’s Conquest casting rod would be nice. I can not fit a Conquest in my budget but if anyone is looking to go finesse and use a bait caster I suggest the Phenix Feather 7’ 1” light 4 to 10 lbs line weight. Don’t let the low line rating fool you. This rod has a lot of backbone once you get into it, nice soft tip to load up those light lures. I have horsed a few 3, 4, 5 and 6 lbs small mouth and large mouth on it. A joy to fish with, very light in hand paired with the right reel. A balanced combo as you mentioned in your recent video. I am waiting for the Curado K MGL to become available so I can pair the two up. I think it will be the perfect budget finesse combo. Tight Lines to all.
Awesome video as always guys...I just got back into bass fishing back in June after a 20year lay off and started hearing about the ned rig. I didn't start with the original TRD I saw a Jacob Wheeler video about a TRD Bugz in Green Pumpkin I went to the little lake just down from my house a few weeks after I got the ned rig and I had a pretty good day and from that point I have thrown ned rig 80% of the time. I almost always catch something on a Ned almost every time I go out. Large Mouth, White Bass, Carp, even a catfish lol I use a medium action 7' rod on straight spiderwire...I'm still working on the braid to Fluorocarbon leader.
Hey my name is Phoenix I’m 13 I know this is off topic but thank you so much for helping me catch my pb 7.42 on a swim jig from watching your vids. Hope I get to meet you I’m in East Tennessee
Great info. I just used the TRD Crawz in green pumpkin on a Ned rig mushroom jig head with fluorocarbon on a new medium light spinning combo and caught three fish at night when my go to senko was just not working. Thanks again for the great tips!
Matt and Tim, you guys do such a amazing job on your videos, reviews, description on product, technic and more! Thank you for all the reviews and your knowledge that you provide! I hope you guys are enjoy Tennessee. Love that state for camping. Never really got to experience the fishing there. Anyway.. hope you guys continue providing us your knowledge for many years to come.
Great video as always! You guys have improved my fishing so much since I started watching your channel. Once the buyers guides are over, you guys should do a video on how to find out what the bass are eating. I don’t know whether the bass in some of my lakes are eating gills, shad, shiners, sculpin, or crawfish. Your insight would be immensely helpful
I picked up an $80 medium light Pflueger Trion combo at Bass Pro and threw some Yo Zuri #8 topknot mainline fluoro on it and have been having a blast using it as my ned rig setup. Cheap setup but tons of fun. GP and Junebug are my go to colors and they have been slaying the large mouth in the pond I fish.
I have thrown a couple of z man Ned rigs in with a different brand not thinking nothing about it and after you mentioned about mixing them I dug that box out and what a melted mess but the z mans are solid as a rock lesson learned
Ah ned rigs. More my speed for winter haha. I like the z-man heads & trd. Also strike kings coffee infused ned plastics Catch them. xzone has caught me some too. Usually dip all tails in jjs magic. Thanks for vids.
@@DeadPool9206 oh I've never caught anything on hard baits either lmao. Nothing works, I foul hooked a bass with a jerk bait but that doesn't count because I just randomly ran into the side of him. How do y’all not have podcast channel yet ? We love the UA-cam channel obviously, but just thinkin it would be a perfect fit for y’all as well just another outlet for your brand. My most used plastic, CPF is my go too ned. The Powerbait Chigger Craw is my go too for a guarantee bite, something about it that it works better than anything else. I use an EWG Ned Rig for a lot of versatility in bait options. My shimano sensilite rod with a bfs reel is my fun setup for ned rigs or my ultralight spinning combo, these two are a blast when I hook a fish.

Video idea maybe? Do you attache the ned rig head with a loop (slip knot) on the line? Greetings Mitch.
That combo cost so much. When you go to the tackle shop to buy it and ask how much is it all together with tax. They write the number on a piece of paper and slide it over to you
I like the bugz and OG TRD the best. I haven’t tried the Ned rig enough yet to say weather or not the others are as good for me. But I’m sure they are going to be as long as I get a good color!
I like a dobyns fury 661 lite paired with a daiwa regal lt2500 and 5lb k9 braid down to 6-8lb red label seagaur leader. Another probably lesser known bait that I like to use for the ned is the Nikko craw or Nikko hellgrammite.

Another great video, lots of info, but do you guys ever use the hooks with the weedguards on them, because most of the lakes in NW Georgia or Alabama you can't throw the open hook ones without losing them all.
Great videos guys. You were a big part of me returning to the lakes. However, I believe I am about to hang bass fishing up for good. I stopped fishing for nearly 10 years bc I was tired of being stuck on the bank. I got back into bass fishing again heavy and starting going 3 days or more prior to work for a few hours. But… once again… dry foot fever is kicking in again. Fishing from the bank has huge limitations that are pushing me away again. I love bass fishing but without having a way to cover water it severely limits my fishing season. Hell I’d take a jon boat with a smaller motor and foot controlled trolling motor but the funds just aren’t there. I bust my butt every single day to make a living but a boat isn’t in my near future… if I had a boat to cover water I would fish year around without a hint of quit but dry land is a bummer and once again killing my love. Anyways… keep up the tactical videos!
Great video!! You guys should start fishing for grinnel (bowfin) they fight so hard but they are not huge. I would much rather hook a grinnel than a largemouth any day. Hey guys I love tuning in and you have never steered me wrong. Im looking for another spinning rod setup. I currently use a Shimano Sahara 3000 on a St Croix Mojo Bass 6'10'' Medium Light. I am torn between the Ultegra and the Nasci. I would use it for various types of presentations it won't be just for Ned Rigs. In the description it says your preferred set up is the Ultegra 1000 or for budget the Nasci 2500. Which would you guys go with I'm not super concerned with the 50 dollar difference in price if its worth extra performance. Finally, would you combine it with the Shimano Intenza 7'6'' Light or get another St.Croix Mojo Bass I have been really impressed with mine so far
I started ned fishing on the Illinois river backwaters 7 years ago. 1/8 th head with a shaped worm. I was catching 30 largemouth a day. I don't think fish will get conditioned to like other baits.
If you're the type of person that prefers to keep your elaztech baits in a box look into the Flambeau K series boxes. I reached out to Zman a little while back and they said that the K series is acceptable because it's made out of a different type of plastic than normal boxes. They're not available on tackle warehouse but a quick google search will pull them up.
Buy Z-Man Bang StickZ, the 5 3/4" Neko rig stickbait, and cut them in half!!! TacticalBassin fans this is my TOP Ned rig tip!🤜🏻🤛🏻🔥 The front half is a 2 1/2" TRD, the back half is a 2 3/4" TicklerZ!!! Best of all Bang StickZ are SALT FREE so you don't need to soak out the salt as you do with cut-in-half ZinkerZ! So, for the price of one bag of Elaztech you get TWO SETS of baits! Fish smart, shop smart!!!! You're welcome!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I reached out to Zman a little while back and they said that the K series is acceptable because it's made out of a different type of plastic than normal boxes. They're not available on tackle warehouse but a quick google search will pull them up.
I like how Matt’s budget combo that he uses is still a $400 combo ,
The TRD Craw has been a great cold water redfish bait in Mississippi's marshes the last two years. It's almost time to break it out again.
Time for me to try a Ned rig.
I was wondering if there is a way to get the hoodie you guys wear that has the net pattern on it?
Where did you get that tackle box at the beginning of the video
Wish we could buy the rods you recommend
This year in March I caught one that was 8.04lbs on a ned rig it’s the biggest bass I’ve ever caught
