Silly thing to think about, but the Powell is almost like the first El Camino. Car frame with a pick-up body, and it came out 2 years before the Ranchero. VERY cool and funky truck, wouldn't mind having one, would definitely be the only one at the local car cruise riding around in one!
Thanks Dennis, my first time being interviewed on a show. Found out "yeah" and "yep" should be avoided lol. Hope to have 2 Powell's at each show this year around Medford & Grants Pass
Wow southern Oregon bringing the fire.... Some cool 80s cars I spotted us younger guys can appreciate it all Never imagined the Kaiser would be a hatch...
Thank you for great video.classic car and trucks are epically designed BEST and well.till then keep smiling with lol politely and healthy safely with classic
Great to see the '51 Kaiser Traveler! My Dad had a '51 Frazer Vagabond, which was the last year the Frazer brand was built. Our Vagabond was a 4 door sedan and the back opened up in the same way the Kaiser did but was a more deluxe and highly finished version than the Kaiser model. It was a great car, very well built and versatile as my Dad used it as his truck during work and our pleasure car at night and weekends.
Thanks Dennis, wished you could upload more often, disabled so i cherish seeing these auto shows unable to travel, lots of cool cars left in the world. 👍
you all prolly dont give a damn but does any of you know a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot the login password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
@Miguel Chris I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm trying it out atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
The owner of the '41 parked his car there and left for the day. Owner says it's all original. My '56 Powell wagon was in a very hot fire. Doors are impossible to open, looking for another chassis if you can help?
@@600miles Sure wish I could but I've got just the coupe in the thumbnail left. I'm currently living in the rust belt in Tennessee, you really don't want one from this area. I will be moving to Montana in March and will be on the look. I will try and contact you if I find anything.
Hey Dennis Gage I do my own car cruise-in and I would love to see you there. It is every 2nd Sunday at Swamp Cabbage Brewing Company 921 Brookwood Dr. 29201 Columbia, SC from 2-4 pm it's called Cars and Draughts the next one is this Sunday. Like I said before I would love to see you there.
Question is who is Realy in charge the man or the mustash? You were doing this in the 90's?? Being in My 50's back then I was just a kid. But that was a long time ago.wander why I never heard of you till UA-cam came along? Great show as usual. Keep em coming.
Dennis, I know that you are a certified car nut and also a fellow motorcyclist, me too. I am a retired USAF vet. Last May, I purchased a 1987 Honda 1200 Gold Wing Aspencade. Unfortunately I had a bad wound on my right heel. Because of the wound, I have never ridden the bike.I went into the hospital in May and spent the next 5 months in the hospital and recovery. I had 5 procedures done. In one, they removed most of the tendon on my right ankle. I can walk, but I don't think I can hold up a 800 pound bike plus a passenger. I know there are trike kits but I'm not really into trikes. I saw something on You Tube , that was a set of " Retractable Landing Gear" for motorcycles. They are also expensive. I was wondering if you or any of your subscribers might have some connections where I might get a set for my bike and also get some financial assistance toward purchase. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. On another note, I live in Canandaigua, NY in upstate New York. Not too far from here is a very interesting Museum, It is called the Glenn Curtiss Museum. He was a very early aviator. He was a bicycle racer and builder. Later he built motorcycles and engines for dirigibles. In 1907 he built a motorcycle with a V8 dirigible engine. He took it to Daytona Beach and did 137 mph, in 1907!!!! There is a replica at the museum. It is terrifying. No suspension, no brakes, no clutch, no transmission just an open bevel gear direct drive. It is insane. But so cool. and so are some of his planes. check it out. By the way, my email is 19Goldwing52@gmail,com thank you so for your time. Don
Thomas Barnard - TO BE TRUTHFUL, SOME HAVE FOR DECADES - ACTUALLY, IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU ARE REFERENCING AND LOOKING FOR - HOW ABOUT A CUSTOM BUILT 1979 CADILLAC ELDORADO STATION WAGON TO START, ORDERED AND BUILT FOR A FAMILY FRIEND WHO THEN WILLED IT TO ME UPON HER DEPARTURE FROM THE SCENE FOR A VEHICLE OF HIS CHOICE FOR HER GRANDSON WHICH I ACTUALLY OWNED ?!?!?
Absolutely right it is. 1967 Chrysler Town & Country wagon OAL is 220.3 inches with a curb weight of 4674 lbs. A 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 crew cab with the 5.75 foot box is 231.7 inches long and has a curb weight of 4950 lbs.
The cruise control system on that station wagon is the same basic setup that was used on a variety of makes of cars for almost the next three decades it just got a little smaller. I very often want to kick some of these people who label older technology a “Rube Goldberg” design when it was not. This design of cruise was worked well and was dependable it is just based on the technology of the day as opposed to the technology of today. PS That wagon was no bigger than any other station wagon of today. What gets me is all of the yuppies of today who put their deposit down for that ugly looking pipe dream that Elon Musk is claiming he will build and call this station wagon a land yacht when what it is a comfortable full size vehicle, little do they realize that Turdsla “truck” is as big if not bigger than this station wagon
Looking at the owner's manual for my '67 Newport Custom, page 28 describes how the cruise control (autopilot) works. There's a selector switch (off, on, auto) and a numbered thumb wheel which allows you set your desired speed. You push to switch to the AUTO position, set the dial to your desired speed and then accelerate until you feel resistance on the gas pedal. You can increase or decrease your speed simply by changing the setting on the thumb wheel. Pressing the brake shuts the system off. The system also works as an over speed warning reminder if you set it to ON and then dial in a selected max speed. The gas pedal will move freely until you hit your desired speed and then you get resistance. It's still possible to accelerate but the gas pedal will be heavy.
Beautiful cars, Beautiful trucks and Beautiful Bikes.
The Kaiser. Now that's a great car to have, very stylish, elegant, and practical. Love the lines on that car. The uniqueness is just a plus!

It's huge!! My dad had a 69 Town & Country, big big big!!
Stunning looking vehicles !

I've never heard or seen a Powell Pickup... I agree it has some IH Pickup lines...
Agreed
The fishing pole holder is a nice touch for the sportsman...
I knew he was going to say for rifles too. That's the way it was back then.
It's listed in the spec sheet for the Powell Wagons: clubs.hemmings.com/powellregistry/Reference-images/1956-stationwagon-specs.jpg
This wagon is very well preserved...
Glad you were able to come visit our part of the country Dennis, would have liked to seen the show myself.

The mid 60s version of the Family Truckster...
Great video, would have been better with a feature on the 41 Plymouth in my biased opinion.
The owner of the '41 parked his car there and left for the day. Owner says it's all original. My '56 Powell wagon was in a very hot fire. Doors are impossible to open, looking for another chassis if you can help?

I think the kids probably "threw up", as much or more, from the exhaust fumes coming in the open rear window, then from riding backward.
Ah there's nothing like the smell of leaded gasoline exhaust fumes. Sweet n Sour memories lol

Dennis kept harping on the size of the Town and Country but it is smaller that a new four door pick up.

Unfortunately all cars were blocked by the mustache
That does tend to happen with smaller cars.🙂
LoL 😁
ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤣
Impossible to lock someone under the hood 4:35 ... they will be able to escape .
New cars are expensive computerized efficient driving machine totally good of automotive personalities.
Mopar powered...
