  • The plan was to try and set an F1 car up like an Indy Car but iRacing be 'nah'. So, the next best thing. But it's a hotly requested one so why not?
    Daytona is probably the world's best known 'roval' as it hosts the 24hrs every year and has done since 1965 (or 66, can't recall) and it's a popular track in iRacing too.So then, with the release of the W12 still keeping everyone occupied, let's see what this bad boy will do on the Daytona banking!
    Enjoy! And remember to like and subscribe for more!

    I went to Ferrari's Finali Mondiali in Daytona I believe it was in 2017 or 2018. Seb and Kimi running a V8 and V10 car from the corsa cliente around the high banks was pretty epic. Also, there was a herd of 333SP's there, which was just as grand to listen to.

    You could call this boring for f1 but, about the same number of corners for this track and the RedbullRing. Only big issue I see is that this would be a 53 lap race. Amendment barely having to brake into the bus stop also poses problems😐. This would also be the fastest track on the f1 calendar by a country mile. If Aiden can manage an average speed of 251 km/h, who know what the pros could do.

      The reason there are no banked turns in F1 anymore is because the amount of downforce they generate it is extremely dangerous. If an F1 car hit an outside wall on the edge of the banking and flipped upside down chances are it would land in the spectator stand, because it would literally fly into the air... And if not it could still go a long way into the air before it crash lands with massive impact... Its okay for indycars because they do not produce the same amount of downforce

      If they were serious about bringing F1 to Daytona, they could create an alternate chicane for the F1 cars that would be much tighter and have more a real braking zone. Similar to how NGK chicane at the Nurburgring has alternate versions, depending on the category that is racing.

    Daytona is a super simple track, but usually has amazing racing because of the slip streaming. I think F1 could race here with no DRS. And as a viewing experience, you can see most of the track from the top of the grand stands. It would suck if every F1 track was like Daytona, but Daytona would be so unique on the F1 calendar. As unique as Monaco, but the opposite side of the spectrum. Too many F1 tracks are very similar, the calendar needs more variety.

    Theres a way to at least get the car to a point to where it will run a superspeedway somewhat well but without a way to just rip off the secondary wing elements and making the sideboards on the rear wing flat, you're definately not going above 200 for very long before your boost runs out. if you ask me, the best kind of oval F1 could run would be a short track like Richmond, New Hampshire, Milwaukee, Gateway, something short and relatively flat that isnt a bullring that would cause massive destruction but also nothing so long that you dont get any boost recharge.

      @@louisbeerreviews8964 Yeah, just realized that. Still, having a speed more than 200 km/h at that section is really something. A 300 km/h entry too...

    the petit lemans track would be epic for f1 but a bit dangerous.. but after last week's f1 catastrophe. i doubt they could say no on the count of safety concerns could they?!?!?!?

    Wouldn't fuel efficiency be tricky here? I guess or maybe guarantee that cars will burn through their gas tank at the speed of light. F1 in daytona would be probable if they bring back re-fueling.

    There are enough infield access and campground roads, that with a bit of modifications you can exclude the main banks entirely, probably will need the front stretch bank though but that is equivalent to zandvoort in terms of degrees of banking

  • @West4ea
    @West4ea 2 роки тому +1

    Certainly there’s the scope for making a circuit. The existing “road” track looks a bit dull and spends too much time too fast on the banking. If they ever announced it happening I’d buy shares in tech pro as they are going to need a lot of barriers
