  • We ride the cog railway at Mt. Washington, which might be one of the most crazy train rides in all of America. The weather did not cooperate, but we still had a blast.

I've been up there twice on a motorcycle during Laconia bike fest.
1st time it was like that in June. Not as cold but cold enough I bought a sweatshirt. Foggy, some breeze, and cool. 2nd time was sunny and beautiful...the view was awesome. Have to go again when it's clear...you can drive your car up but that train looks awesome .

Mtn Washington is an amazing small mtn. I've hiked it 5-6 times, driven up 4-5 times and we took the Cog 1 time. Out of all the times I've been at the summit, 2 times we have had unlimited view. People have asked me about the cog and if it's worth it. My answer is you'll either have one of the most amazing views ever, or a introduction to crazy Mount Washington weather.

That’s a great way to explain it. We saw many people hiking it the day we weee there.

From Marilyn C. I wore flip flops, shorts, t shirt! Winds were like 6mph, sunny, warm about 60°. We drove up. That was scary. When I say "we", I mean Garry drove. Lol.

August of 2018, we took the COG railroad up Mt. Washington. It was A warm day at the base of the mountain, but at the top the Temperature dropped to the 40s and it was windy but but visibility was limited due to the smoke from the wildfires in California that year. Like you, it was an experience we will remember and highly recommend the ride.

Actually it's $20.00 per night at a Harvest Host "Gasstrom Farms" in New York. If you don't need the hookups then you can just purchase some of their fresh beef from the farm. We actually go there in Saturdays video.
