I love the use of the phrase 'a proper plug'! It adds a touch of British colloquialism to the review especially when one notices the way the you hold the steering wheel, and the way you feed the wheel when turning. That's how we're taught during our driving lessons. Quite an entertaining review. Keep it up!

The best "mid-size" SUV in the PH market in my opinion. It's not too bulky and very nimble. I'm 5'10" and it has the most comfortable 3rd row seats compare to its competitors in the same price range. A well balance combination of power, speed, style, and technology. I just hope it has a panoramic sunroof.

Got my monty gt 4x4 last march 2020. Already registered 3500 km on it travelling to Laguna and Antipolo. Powerful engine useful in overtaking. Only problem is low ceiling. Love the sunroof. Havent tried offroading yet. Maybe bring my monty to Pampanga to try the pinatubo trail. But have to wait for a sunny weather. Nice review, bro!

Again another nice heartfelt honest review. Although I’m familiar with it already would have loved to have seen your review of the third row and the safety features. Again I believe the 218 mm ground clearance is from the ground up and not the wheel well clearance. Keep up the great work. Hope you get invited soon the other motoring events in the Philippines. 👍
I think the Montero is best overall. It handles well but is comfortable still. Been using one for over 6 years now.

Just want to commend you for such a very honest and straightforward review you have here for someone who seems to be just starting to get noticed around the automotive UA-cam world. Just a suggestion, it would be nice to actually specify your height when discussing cabin space(we are very particular of that). You seem too tall versus the height of the ordinary and usual Filipinos(I'm 5'8 and with our local standards, I'm already considerably tall whereas Richard Hammond always ends up getting mocked by Clarkson for having the same height 😂) and for you to still be able to fit just right behind your normal driving position in the Montero Sport, that's one remarkable feature already. Hope you enjoy your stay here more and please do make more and more car review vids. May not be as precise as those established ones but I love how direct and honest your thoughts and observations are towards a vehicle as what I've noticed in this vid of yours.

Interesting review from my namesake, and for reasons that in other videos of this car or online motoring magazine reviews, this guys opinion is the opposite of everybody elses. This car get so many bad reviews but I always think reviewers are biased towards certain brands in the motoring press for some reason. This car clearly drives really well, is comfortable and quiet at speed etc but I think the big problem is everyone compares it to the likes of the Qashqai or Kodiaq etc and expect the ride and handling to be the same, but its not even in that segment ! Its going to sound a bit agricultural and ride differently with a ladder frame chassis. This is a proper 4x4, not a school run joke of a car pretending to be an SUV. Cheers for the honest review as im looking to buy one next year possibly.

At first we were interested with Toyota Fortuner but the headroom is quite short for my tall sons. But when we saw Montero we were quite interested.

You need to learn more about the machanicals of cars. 4HLc 4LLc is centre diff locked in high and low.
Switching the shifter to the side puts the auto into lock mode.

In the UK you call this the Shogun Sport if I'm not mistaken. Would you choose this over the Toyota Fortuner? The 2021 model just came out together with the 2021 Hilux. The 2021 Innova will come next.

@@marinerchris, this has high tech features that is not yet seen from its rivals just a trivia, this is lately launched because of those high tech features so maybe they came up with a solution to weigh down its weight so it can pass the standards of the roads in the Philippines today.

I am using automatic 1.8V Mitsubishi Galant Fortis sedan here in New Zealand. We are Mitsubishi lover. For SUV, we love the 7 Seater Outlander PHEV. I don't know if they have PHEV in the Philippine market now. I think most of cars now in western countries are going electric...From New Zealand.
They are now selling the Outlander PHEV here in the Philippines. It was just launched about a month ago.
I owned a 4x2 gls montero yr2017 thinking about to upgrade to 4x4.. im seeing a lot of great SUV out there that have those feature i want but seems like i cannot let go of the montero coz i like big SUV, height is perfect tho im not tall 5’3 here lol

Years ago it was Mitsubishi Pajero. Mitsubishi Montero was quite rare. They said it came from the states. I don't know if the name or variant "Pajero" is still relevant in the PH. In Australia however, this exact same model is called Pajero Sport.
