Like is not correct word but trust. Hilux may have lost selected aspects to Triton as planned but wise judgement should be based on overall and proven performance. Hilux has proven itself as a very reliable off-road workhorse since its 1st generation all over the world and remains so until the newest 8th generation. Others like Triton may have the comfort and technological edge but have not proven themselves in robust conditions like what the Hilux has achieved. It's ignorance if anybody says otherwise. So, if someone prefers an 'inferior' Hilux it's because it has some qualities which others lack. It's more of a wisdom rather than emotion.

I am a huge fan of anything mitaubishi, but this is not fair
3!bsk why?,
........... Why ?
I think the only aspect Hilux is better at is reliability and affordable spear parts!
Thanks...I could se the driver in die Triton is better as Hilux it was just that way to make die triton look better where the Hilux is better if you want value for you money and doesn't break easily...Never been in a titon or a Mitsubishi so can't tell you it's a bad car just heard other people say it's not that good and Hilux is better...My personal opinion is Hilux is better what's yours?
Blilkkies Blignaut hilux is a nice car. We own one and it’s pretty nice ride.
It was very clear this so-called "FACE-OFF" wasn't done fairly, it wasn't done openly. It looks more kind of consciously and intentionally... a bit exaggerated in the interests of other parties, I think.
Thanks for the comparison but after 25 yrs when that triton has been scrapped, melted and turned into a tin box or whatever tht Hilux would still be on the road on 600,000km
But with this new technology high pressure low displacement engines... How would even the hilux look on 600,000km? (Coming from a '99 2700i Hilux owner at 300,000km)
Rikus Louw not really worried bout tht as I have a 2013 d4d 🤣
@Abraham Louw tht's why toyota tested the hilux durability for over 600k km bfore they officially launch the truck...
@@abrahamlouw2795 its already tested 600k in Australia outback before introducing it to the market go make your research.
@Jim Barrows ok boomer
I've been driving hilux since 2010 and I can confirm this. Hilux was designed by a bunch of Crabs in the Comfort Department. Other department are brilliant.
i like u bro...🤣🤣🤣
Both cars are great, in my country Triton usually used for fleet segment, because the spare part and maintenance cost are very cheap (in my country), but the hilux is the best when it comes for durability, but the spare part and maintenance aren't as cheap as Triton. (((:
Had no idea Triton was cheaper
Thought it was the other way
in my country, the triton is 20% less expansive ( to buy ) than the hilux
Very informative test.
I'll remember that next time I see a Triton being towed by a Hilux. 😒😒😉😉😉
I love the Triton, but this was setup 😅
How about the Hill assist? 😂 that was embarrasing.
Hahaha. True
@@darrylanthonybriones46 They didn't even show the hilux actually working so Its all biased towards Triton
@@abrahamlouw2795 atleast it shows the toyota having problems they are both good trucks tho
Drivers error.
I love how this is really clear and easy to see the difference in the utes and helps with buying choice.

Excuse me what. Oh that's right they couldn't do one because of the dpf issue that Toyota refuse to acknowledge
It’s is not. You drive and try it both then you’ll understand. Mitsubishi never pay for this video. Search more review and you can judge it. I drive both and knowing this video is not bias.
how is my account related to this comment? 💀
Hilux is the best of all the pick ups for me....! My grandfather had one ( my grandfather died the car is OK! ) And it is 25 years old and it's like its brand new!🤙
the worst ? :D hilux is not car to terrain or working, its car to city..
2:38 That was purely drivers error
No hilux just not as goid
And now the reliability test...! Wait a sec, Triton need to replace the engine before that 😅😅
Nah. The 1KR is a shit engine. Rough, gutless, and the DPF issues endure. Not to mention Toyota's absolutely rubbish 6-speed auto that hunts gears and feels like shit.
@@TheNoobOffice And despite everything you just mentioned, Toyota's reliability and sales are still far superior than Triton, what a shame!!. Who knows, maybe one day Triton will follow in the footsteps of Evolution and Montero/Pajero.
@@ramonortiz231 That's because its sales are based on a now-dead heritage. If you want to buy a piece of shit jusy because other people bought it, go ahead but prepare to get laughed at for owning the worst Hilux in history and the least remarkable in its segment.
@Snow Leopard Isuzu/Mazda.
@@TheNoobOffice I agree, it's called the placebo effect, just because there's a heritage doesn't mean it's reliable, I've had very bad experiences with Toyotas as well, cracked radiator due to poor quality plastics, engines wearing out on extremely low mileage(1kr engine), wiring issues and one of my friends who has a hilux snapped his timing belt! Overrated garbage I say!
... but still i love hilux. I have one and its awesome off road and on road.
that sharp turn proves that u drove it differently on both cars.. u took different angles before turning therefore u will need to reverse in order to avoid road kills..
Nope. Triton has a J line design in rear cab. It's designed to turn sharper than every other Ute.
I agree with Qiao. Triton seems to really turn better than most ute I tested. Next to it is the Navara.
@@Jumjumjumwee the cab design has nothing to do with maneuverability. It's the Triton's turning radius that is 400 mm lesser than that of Hilux's that is responsible (11.8 vs 12.2 meters respectively).
@@peabrained3144 dafuq, it does, it lessens the wheel base making it better at turns.
Как по мне то второй тест не зачётный. Скорость у таёты выше, результат ошибки при прохождении поворотов. Да и в целом это всё зависит от мастерства водителя. Каждый последующий раз может отличатся от предыдущего.
Triton depreciated 50% greater during the filming of this
Great! Now I can buy it at half price
@@andretait2817 I know right, and at half price you can only loose half it’s value in the next two years …. Big brain play !

The second test was only bcz of driver judgement and ability not because of overall roadkill or whatever
Wrong. Hilux's turning radius is 12.2 m vs Triton's 11.8 m. 400 mm is a lot of margin.
Same driver bro and it is obvious l200 has better maneuverability according to specs.. I prefer L200

yes many 4×4 exspecially japan part cannot last when using hard core, mud off road and etc.exp rear axle differential broken compare to hilux, since i was in toyota as a after sales person,i never heard rear axle broken.never...
Hilux is not for girls (although my wife and two daughters are happy with the car after Mercedes, which was constantly breaking down) of course there is no comfort, but it works flawlessly and goes everywhere.
It also transports more cargo by the way!
I'd still buy the reliable, "uncomfortable" bakkie 😂
They should test both cars with load and see who's the real monster...
They should do a tug of war with the trucks lol
Triton = 3000+kg
I have test drive both of them the same day in Bangkok motor expo. My first test is Triton and then Revo. But now I have Revo Rocco in my garage.
Hi, im trying to decide between buying one of these two, what were your thoughts on both cars?
a.cobcro In my country Toyota has a lot of the show room service this is the main reasons. Well actually Mitsubishi is more options such as 360 camera, rear passing alert, paddle shift at steering wheel, full time 4x4 and cheaper, but still choose Rocco because of my opinion is interior Rocco is nicer and torque comes so fast . Triton is better in summary but I CHOOSE BRAND Toyota.
This is not a fair review, Hilux driver is not professional as Triton driver. So, I would like to say both cars are quite good.
Hmmm, I guess I'm the only one who thinks that🗿
I’m work on mining company. Using mitsubishi, ford/masda, toyota (all double cabin). Based on My experience, overall mitsubishi the best. Good Perform, spare part low price, easy maintenance. (In Indonesia)
Guys that have questions about this test you should look alce emergency test about hilux. Even i saw many times on license drive test almost all hilux users have problems
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yah right
Tufo sabotage was cook by Chinese 😂😂😂
I believe this, the hilux also failed the moose test
Yes
Quality of the car is good though. It’s only the name else nobody is interested in it.
Naah, they reviewed the suspension and it passed the 🫎 test in 2017
well toyota does not need to advertise hilux... people will look for it
Hilux over rated a/f, suspension is hard engine is noisy, price is absurd
You mean good resale value?
Seems to me People do not "Like it " when a brand they support fails against another . . .
hahaha agreee .
Yes, I also agree with you
lol, yes
Love the toyota hilux
La Toyota no creo que baje tan rápido y también pienso que el chófer tiene que ver demasiado en la prueba de conos
Clearly it shows it's not a fair review.... Keep making videos like this. Hilux is gonna grow more
clearly the driver in hilux intentionally drove like a maniac in the roadkill test
when they wanted to prove to the public that their truck was good they had to compare it to the toyota hilux. this is a clear proof that toyota hilux is one of the best high quality products that people have ever had.
congratulations toyota hilux for being the benchmark of your class.!!
salute to toyota hilux because you are rated by the consumer community and not by the paid advertising company.
It would be better if the comfort test shows the speed of the vehicles. I personally think that technique will affect the comfortability
oh it wont do any difference, the hilux is indeed pain in the ass and back when offroad or even on road, its like sitting on a wooden chair. it is stiffer than the triton. go take a test drive and feel it yourself.
A Triton me surpreendeu, carro muito robusto, atende muito bem as necessidades do dia a dia...
Br aí sim
A única coisa que trocaria nela é esse motor 2.4 pelo 3.2 antigo que é mais robusto.
