I could watch this all day, more of these please! Reminds me of watching INVICTA back in the day. Like looking through a window into a beautiful tacticians mind.
thanks mate, appreciate it. i enjoy making them regardless of how many people end up watching, so there's always more on the horizon. glad you enjoyed :)
@@SwordEncarmine Good question. As a general rule (in my opinion), factions that force the player to use different parts of their army together to overcome weaknesses. It's not interesting to play like boii and rome when you have good units everywhere. Numidia is def one, the 980 javcav are the most overpowered unit in the game but they also have a lot of responsibilities to take care of in many matchups for Numidia. Parthia is another one, especially for kite-heavy armies, just because that playstyle has so much to offer I guess. Getae is also pretty interesting, and maybe Cimmeria too (but they kinda suck xd)
phenomenal content! so much detail and insight i think the coolest thing i learned from this was the quick charge blocks on enemy cav with the jav cav. its a bit tricky to time, but is so satisfying to land successfully. i can only imagine the frustration of my opponents when their cav stops right in range of my missiles after being kissed by a very light jav cav hihihi watching this inspired me to revisit Suebi and to come up with new strats and tactics for using them. so much fun, with such an interesting faction. if you do make another vifd like this, i would love to see one on Pontus. you seem to know it well and its very versatile/interesting as well peace
glad you liked it. yeah, that shit is really funny to do but it is really micro intensive. Ive tried implementing it more on other factions. especially like tarentines that can take a charge so even if u fuck up its not uber bad. Pontus is cool. Problem with doing these videos is getting enough footage to explain different concepts. Because they fucked the replays, I'm sitting with very limited amounts.
Just a great video. It’s long but you give all the inside, you share your thoughts, hopefully the Rome 2 community will get better….Cause I am so tired of playing noobs on land….
Nice video. Suebi were my favorite faction few years back. I used germanic slingers as meatshield, high-tear spears as main line and supported them with Bloodsworn back then (Approx. build: 2 Noble Cav, 3 slingers, 2 Wodanaz Spears, 4 Spear Wall units, 4 Bloodsworns, 1 Wolf Warrior, 4 Scout Riders). The idea was that you engaged with Spear Wall and charge with Bloodsworn through your spears than retreat with your clubs, activate fast charge and send Bloodsworn into another charge, which would most likely destroy opponent’s infantry. However, I didn't play as Suebi since patch, which removed spaghetti lines and dealt a heavy blow to them. Do you think that this old tactic is still viable option? Regarding your first approach: I saw something similar before and this is a really strong tactic; but it requires insane control over your army. The same thing can be said regarding your modified approach. Basically, this build allows you to capitalize on your superior control skills (higher APM). If you don't have such advantage - this approach would actually reduce your chances on winning since any mistake will be crucial. Liked the anti-numidian build.
Yeah, the removal of spaghetti lines definitely removed some options. A tactic as you described can be effective still, depending on the rules. Hoplite used a similar tactic in the CoN, where he had a line of spear wall, then club levy/bloodsworn, then wodonaz in the back and just used the spear wall to block charges and then got fast charge attacks with bloodsworn/club levy and especially wodonaz. But of course in the CoN, enemy factions had less melee and options to defeat it so that may have helped.
yeah, probably true, but your actions can also cause mistakes, I think that's kinda what happened with me triple javelining his tribal, caused his box to fall apart for a bit. If you just play into his hands by attacking the box normally, you will more likely lose. Have to try to force him to play your game instead.
How can you say something like that. He is one of the best land battle players in Rome 2 and he shares all of his tactics and thoughts. I say he is a very humble and intelligent young man that does good work for the Rome 2 community. Keep up the excellent work Miles.

how can someone subscribe in that tournament?
that was a kind of one-off thing, but there are more tournaments hosted on Bubbles' discord:
