You know what? this looks like a project I could Complete. I like the fact that you cleaned and used a lot of the Original Parts. This unit reminds me of the 286 Intel desktops I used to learn computer repair with in the 90's.Thank you for the inspiration.
This is exactly what I’ve been waiting to see!! Excellent, just excellent! I’m working on modding my 2000xl by replacing the caps with some Elna and DOAs
cool video glad i found this, i recently got a junker 2000 and I am slowly rebuilding it. I fixed the buttons but I need to figure out the contact layout for the headphone jack so I can order the right one. Every pad is 100% dead so i got a new sensor coming, im hoping it's that and not the board itself. I did get the floppy to boot and i played around on various menus and even got my tr 808 floppy to load but could only listen by pressing preview. Replacing the screen also (though maybe try my attempt at fixing at first??) and maybe a SD card reader or something of the sort.
I have a MPC 2000. It's literally been in the shed for YEARS. Watching your vid, i decided to break it out and fire it up. IT STILL WORKS. Question, how can I get a start up disc for it? Oh, and the screen is shot.
Maybe you can explain in short about upgrading capacitors on main output please. Bought capacitors by looking at our video but worried about screwing up :(
I’ve tried to restore screens before and bought polarizing screen, but no luck. I think i didn’t scrape enough of the glue off. Do you do restorations for people other than your personal items? Thanks
How much will you charge me to do a discreet op-amp circuit on an MPC 2000 XL? I also would like to do the same thing for an MPC 4000. Can you contact me for prices
Expert restoration, really appreciate your commitment to refurbishing the parts that were salvageable.
