@@r0tekzHi, did you do the screen thing? I want to remove the inverter and now I'm going to change the feedback but leaving the original screen. I just want to know if with the bridge and putting the diode it would work well and know exactly which pins I have to bridge. Thanks, regards
Boa tarde! Me dê uma orientação por favor! Eu tenho o yamaha Sy 85, e quero colocar o emulador de disquete. Me passe qual é a referência do emulador para o Sy 85.
Hi !!! Superb work! Mine is fully dismanteled on the shelf right now. Please could you explain how you managed to know that this jumper was needed and the value of the resistor. I guess you had to measure the amperage needed by the previous screen, but how to do it once the machine is fully empty??? Many thanks!
@@vincentmalcorps7614 I see in his video these resistor says 10ohm which means it's only dropping a small amount of current possibility mostly on the supply voltage, I will get my new screen soon hopeful I can get a better idea what is going on
@@DanHomeAtLastYes, the resistor is 10 ohms. Did you do the work? I want to change only the screen light but I don't know what voltage the original screen works at, can I remove the inverter by doing what is in the video? I think he changed the screen but for an original one that needs an inverter, hence the reason for closing the resistor and bridging the pins. I would like to have a diagram to see in more detail which pins to bridge.
@@diegoperez2912 yes I did so a screen for one of these, don't bother with the original screen just buy a screen from the usual Chinese sellers and they will work as drop in replacement. You can remove the inductor if you want after doing this
You have to replace the CMOS battery, as is written in the display. After that make a factory reset of the synth in the service and error tracking mode. Just do what the maker of the video does.
Hi, I want to change the screen lighting but leaving the original screen. I will only change the light, but I would like to remove the inverter that makes noise. I think you have replaced the screen but you have left the original one that works with the inverter but you have made a bridge and put a resistor I think of 10. What is not very clear to me is which pin you bridged and if by doing that then I could remove the inverter leaving the original screen. Thanks
LCD repariert und Floppy Laufwerk, Sy77 Yamaha, tolles Gerät!
Great job! The attention you gave and the details you showed are very much appreciated. Your SY77 is lucky to have you. Thanks for sharing!
What's the resistor and jumper on the screen around 3:10 for?
to eliminate the inverter that supplies voltage to the screen and makes noise.
@@diegoperez2912 Thanks!
Great restoration, but the rear rotary is for what? 5:10
What is that soldering iron tip ?
A desoldering iron
Great video, Thank you for sharing any advice or tutorial to install the backlight? thank you
If you find out, let me know, as I'm in the same boat.

Thank you for sharing! Love the SY-Series. -Devin
Why its necessary change the internal battery?
How can I buy it the new lcd and the new usb reader?. Regards

Was the background music played on the SY77?
Nice quick and useful video! What model of floppy emulator is that? Does it require any jumper hot-rodding like some of them do?

Wow! How can I have you give my SY77 the same treatment?
Hey, mine has those weird characters on startup instead of saying "Create your sound... I'm ready!"
what causes that?

YOu wont have to do everything shown in the video
