@@manningfeldner Absolutely my pleasure. I'm 60 and still learning the guitar, and you give me motivation. Doesn't take a player to know that's how it is supposed to sound.
I totally agree. This guy not only gave me goosebumps but brought tears to my eyes. Front vocals also gave heart and soul to this compilation/medley. Well done! I’ve shared this video too all my family and friends that know what this is all about.
@@manningfeldner Okay, but seriously, you've got to give us a few hints about that tone. I've often wondered how players get such a great tone through amps that aren't playing at loud levels, what combo of amp/pedals are you using? At 4:16, that control from clean to a bit of grit and yet still keeping down the volume. I think I see a Tube Screamer there but mine certainly never does that. What is it?!
@@agarsoThe trick is a Nobels ODR1 into a loud super reverb. That was the only pedal I had on. That and using the volume knob to clean it up and picking with fingers to get a softer/cleaner sound. That tone works best when everything is super loud. You can always quiet down with the guitars volume, but once it’s on 10, there is no where to go. I like to soundcheck with the guitars volume at 5.
I agree. This dude has "Southern Soul" running through his veins when he plays. He brings the meal from the kitchen to the table, makes you eat it, and shows you to the door in one swoop.
