Famoouse I’m trying to pin point when I first started and it was for sure at 07 or before so from 05-07 is where I was. I think I was in late 05 early 06. So it’s been 13-14 years... I haven’t been playing that whole time but the memory’s of my childhood will always remain.
To be fair. There was alot less worlds. But yes I remember the pain. Especially the old drop an item on 1 account logout then login on a new one and pick it up trick.

What a nostalgia trip. I remember finding out about Runescape on Miniclip back in November of 2004, 1 year after I moved into the UK. I didn't know English so the game really helped me learn English. I still remember the Free World Trading and Wilderness being taken away. Used to play this game everyday after secondary school. Everyone did. Still come back to this game every so often. You never truly quit Runescape, just have a relapse.
I get a little teary eyed, especially with the classic stuff. I saw a bunch of friends mentioned on here which made me happy. I love watching this, thanks.

This takes me back man. I started a couple of months after RS2 dropped when a friend mentioned it to me in school. It was such a different game back them. If you wanted to buy something specific you had to go to specific banks around the map just to even be talking to the right crowd otherwise you had to hold up around the west Varrock bank and hope your message would be seen over the hundred or so people there. You also just had to know the prices of items since the GE didn't exist and there wasn't an active in game database with prices. It's hard to imagine having to play the game without the GE now.
Simply outstanding! This was full of nostalgia, and it was a great way to pay homage to such an epic phenomenon. I don't think the Gower Brothers knew what this would eventually turn into. I'm so thankful for all the fun times and great players that continue to journey online everyday! Cheers!

I started playing this game late 2001 early 2002 or so and watching this video and seeing all the changes i've experienced firsthand gave me chills. It was also nice being able to see all the changes i missed when i went on hiatus for about 8-10 years, thinking the game would die out in popularity now that other FTP games were flooding the market. I'm so glad you made this video, the rush of nostalgia was worth the hour of my time.
This video is absolutely incredible. Games can seem so pointless to people outside of the community but this game has had so much passion and love both within and without Jagex throughout its whole life. Ups and downs have come. I logged into RS3 the other day and it makes me sad to see how small the playerbase is getting. I love OSRS and play it a lot, but RS3 is still such a good game it's just not gripping for a lot of older players.
Wow not going to lie that thing with the dude crying at losing classic got to me and what am extremely kind and sweet thing for Jagex to do to cancel the timer, give him more time to say goodbye and actually finish the final quest. I know people probably said it was a PR thing but Jagex has a lot of genuinely good people and dedicated gamers. I think they did it out of kindest and nostalgia themselves more than anything.
I can't believe this video has 'only' 48k views with this amount of work you did there. More people should watch it and learn the RuneScape history with all its good and bad things that happened over years.
I’m so sad that every video I’ve seen covering the history of runescape never mentions the Revenant Hunting clans in the wilderness back in 2008-2011. I guess it goes to show how small we were, but it was such a huge part of my childhood and I made so many friends back then doing that. It was the most fun I’ve ever had in a game even to this date. I miss it and I miss the three big clans we had, Playpro5, Kathryns Bow, and w141revhunts. If anyone from those clans is here you guys meant the world to me back then and really made my childhood enjoyable. Much love ❤️

It was actually changed from 30-28 because worn items where no longer kept in the inventory screen freeing up space so they reduced the amount to make it less op

runescape was by far the best game that ever came into my life, I was dumb around 14 years old(5 years ago) and botted and got perm banned, today I only have a chromebook,not even a cellphone to play it(yes I know there is a way to play on a chromebook but I keep failing as im not very good at technology and have no way to recheck the tutorial once I start the process). none the less from talking to a friend all night on the house phone when I was a kid too keeping my mind occupied and worry free during 32 days in the hospital from my appendix rupturing I can say this game could of very well helped saved my life. It's incredible how many of these things I remember. I gave a rune full helm to Titus when he was regearing for Legend's on the last day of RSC. Honestly so many amazing memories! Here's to more!

I guess it goes to show how small we were, but it was such a huge part of my childhood and I made so many friends back then doing that. It was the most fun I’ve ever had in a game even to this date. I miss it and I miss the three big clans we had, Playpro5, Kathryns Bow, and w141revhunts. If anyone from those clans is here you guys meant the world to me back then and really made my childhood enjoyable. Much love ❤️

I saw this video 6 months ago but decided not to watch it, now I know why. This game is so relevant to me, my first experience in a true game.

Hahah, strange how updates worked at the time.
It was actually changed from 30-28 because worn items where no longer kept in the inventory screen freeing up space so they reduced the amount to make it less op
He says in an interview, it was 28 because that's all he could fit in this computer screen when programming it

runescape was by far the best game that ever came into my life, I was dumb around 14 years old(5 years ago) and botted and got perm banned, today I only have a chromebook,not even a cellphone to play it(yes I know there is a way to play on a chromebook but I keep failing as im not very good at technology and have no way to recheck the tutorial once I start the process). none the less from talking to a friend all night on the house phone when I was a kid too keeping my mind occupied and worry free during 32 days in the hospital from my appendix rupturing I can say this game could of very well helped saved my life. Thank you so much Jagex!!

It's incredible how many of these things I remember. I gave a rune full helm to Titus when he was regearing for Legend's on the last day of RSC. Honestly so many amazing memories! Here's to more!
