Oh this takes me back - I'm Scarfuncle, I was second to Larryr for much of 2005. I can be seen on the high scores at 17:40. I remember Larryr somewhat differently. She mostly did Law running back in the day, but the video shows a lot of nat running. Nat running was absolutely more popular 2004-5, but Larryr owned Law Runes at the time. Justin, Pessi, Mrlucky, anon, wellies, mastermule, and myself all would host our own nature running services via the forums. We took a more chaotic approach I would say. Let me tell you about it. The way it would work is that runners would bring ess to me at the nature altar and everyone would pile around me to trade. I simply remembered who was there the longest and tried to be fair to keep my customers satisfied. I would have coins, nats, and a tally in my inventory and request 25 ess (as I remember, it’s been years). Most people were paid 10 or 11k for their ess, but I paid 11111 and eventually 12000 because they were easy to type for hours on end. The best runners by far were the aussies - I still have no idea why. I took a page from Larryr’s book to hire some trusted workers. I gave nature runes to workers and told them to go sell them for 350 gp each, but if they could get 400 each they could keep the difference, which was a ton of money off the 50k runes I’d trust them with. I also paid people to buy essence and sell it to the general store north of the altar, eliminating the need for people to bring their own ess. Yes, I had a lot of people steal that essence, but I took runners from a lot of the competition and skyrocketed up to 2nd place in runecrafting. I always made sure to advertise that you made more with me than with larryr. I talk about competition, but I reached out to other people on the top scores and found most of them wanted to collaborate. Pessi and Wellies frequently teamed up with me with all our runners on the same world. It felt like two bands getting to play together since I respected them all so much and we brought our own fans. I reached out to larryr for similar collabs and she never replied back. I never heard larryr speak at all. Larryr was online at nearly all times. I swore she was a bot or possibly a team of people on a network. Your video has shown me the reality that she was running an empire and she didn’t need collaboration with other runecrafters. Much respect to Larryr for scraping the skies of the rc hi scores list and much respect to you for enshrining this period of runescape history.
I remember you much better than Larryr. I ran for you for a long time, and because of that did not care for Larryr too much ;P You were very kind to a little noob and took time every so often to chat. I recall your friendliness and have nice memories of runecrafting because of it. Very nice to see that you're still around, at the very least watching RS videos if not playing. Thank you for helping me make some fun cash back in the day. I was very honored to run natures for you and had always wondered what happened to you. :)
I was a runner for Larryr. My friend and I stayed up all night running essence once we found out about it. It was the first time I ever had cash stacks above 100k and it was a wild feeling. I can't walk into that section of the jungle without feeling nostalgia. The community really was amazing. They rewarded you for staying with them and actually kept record of all that stuff. I never knew it was this much of a big deal though. Great video!
@@rswillmissit that’s where they hit the jackpot. Easy gold for kids who have no idea what they’re doing in the game. I’m sure they made many many kids very rich and happy. After that being said you’re right that does sound a little off 🤣
Ps: she totally stalked me to EQ2, I didn't ask her to join me, lol. There was a family tragedy and she wanted to be closer to me. It was me that couldn't say no to that. ;) But fwiw, her work ethic didn't drop with the new game. She wound up with Max level toons in every class in EQ2 as she multi-boxxed 6 accounts at once so she could group with herself. Even joining raid guilds, eventually. She's since retired from gaming, taking up painting, and traveling in an RV to various places she wants to paint.
I was a runner! Larryr was on my friends list for years. My old character's name was Victory 101, larryr's business bought me a mask set when the price was 1.2M for the entire set and a Santa hat. I never played RS3, so I didn't know they made her an NPC! Helene222 was another close friend of mine at the time who Larryr bought a party hat for, I was jealous at the time. Amazing video, this really brought me back.
Ah yes, I remember you, I remember when we got bored we would switch to an empty world at the law alter and have some hot cyber sex sessions. I'm LongShlong22.
@@bskwair3597 Minor updates over the years don't constitute a new game. The only thing new is OSRS, where everyone had to start over with ancient graphics.
@@pwntwtfosrs IS rs2 dude, what are you going on about? EOC, when released, was the start of RuneScape 3. The era of RuneScape are Classic(rs1), old school(RuneScape 2), and EOC (Rs3).
The ending of this story is quite something. No drama pulling it apart, no revalation of a scam or anything like that. Larryr just moved on and returned to divy up the final profits between the other employees of the business. Whoever she is in real life, she behaved impeccably in this enterprise.
Wow I was a runner myself for 2 hours before I left, idk who I was running for exactly but crazy to see where it started. Also that nordvpn transition was cleannnnn and funny
I was a runner! I remember this so well, God seriously one of my favorite memories of original runescape. Makes me so happy to see this story being told.
Will, I've watched hundreds of videos on classic, Old school and Rs3 but I must say this video really hit me In my feels. It made me long for not only that era of Rs again but for my childhood too. I remember trading essence for runes to different people but I don't think I ever ran for LarryR but I do remember the race to 99 very well. Back when achieving a 99 was a huge thing. People even had drop parties to celebrate a 99. I remember a friend of mine giving my a green phat for getting 99 smithing right before I quit In 2007. I still have It too! This was about as wholesome of a video as you can possibly get talking about RS. It's got everything that made Rs so great! Back when the community pulled together to help someone else achieve a dream while putting theirs on hold. Toxic players existed back then of course but the community as a whole was just awesome. I've played since 2001 and the Rs community now Is a about going solo and nobody talks anymore.
I agree. It's cliché, but that era really was a golden time. Being a player who could even craft nature runes let alone double would of been seen as a major achievement, certainly in my eyes back then!
Oh man, I remember seeing all those parties to celebrate a player hitting a 99 level skill. Really brings back memories. I’ve just started getting back into it snd I noticed how quiet everyone is. Back in the day it was a lot more social. I guess because the majority of players were really young.
Yea its sad nobody talks anymore. The rs world isnt about kids learning and using their imagination and trying to find friends online. Its run by old dudes now, who gave up a long time ago, its ran by people who easy skill while watching TV and it is full of bots who dont talk anyways.. I remember asking about fishing levels and everyone would started talking. I never trained agility because i would walk everywhere and imagine what i would do next, or follow/taxi people all the way to varrock and talk about questing and skilling. And i even learned French by talking to other people from around the world. It was amazing. Now you can buy yourself to level 99. You can tele everywhere for free and i asked about fishing levels with 20ppl in the guild and nobody awnseres...
I'm glad I got to experience runescape in its peak, when I'd load up the screen and it always said 300k players online. Nothing ever lives up to it. I did also law rune run also.
Think the only correction I would make is that skill capes weren't released till much later on like 2006, right before hunter was released. Overall great entertaining video :3
Good times! I found out about the runecrafting business actually outside of game, a friend invited me to join and I started by getting trained as a runner. Ran for quite some time and really wanted to get promoted so then I got trained to become a collector. Being paid 100k an hour and having Larryr in contact when needed to work shifts. It was good times and most nights were very busy. We dealt with people at the general store and having to hop worlds ect. Shout out to Larryr, Lady Celtic, Lady Karla,MrsChrystler,Talen Prime, Fall404,paganmom. So many great memories made and glad to have been apart of it!
I think I may of been the player in the red robes with the dmed! I remember how amazing it was running Nats for Larryr when I was like 12, having the chance to own a dmed which at the time was 1.2m where generally money making wasn't easy to come by after all those hours of running that piece of armour was an amazing achievement for me. Those were definitely the purest times in RS
Thanks for the video it's nice to know the history behind it, I was a runner in 2005 and I did not have to bank. High profile accounts were selling 25k+ of essence to the general store near the nature alter and all you would have to do is sell your noted essence you got from the runecrafter to the store and buy it back unnoted. This saved a lot of time for the runners and you still got given 10k and 25 noted essence each time you did a run.
This takes me back. I was known in the game as Xiad87. I was a long time player moderator and member of the "Erudites", and ended up as one of the higher ranked individuals within the group. Me and Mrschrystler were the ones to give Larryr the Christmas week (or two?) off, I'm pretty sure it was her who posted the forum post you showed. I'm actually surprised my name wasn't on that post actually. We actually ran the crafting during that period and various other periods to give Larryr a break. At the time of her departure to EverQuest II, I actually had 94 Runecrafting due to the amount and duration of breaks where I covered for and the sheer speed at the XP rolling in (about 200K a day during any cover). I would have continued to run the business, however Larryr invited me and I think Saleane to join her in EverQuest II where we created a guild mostly based around community. Something not really covered in ANYTHING I've seen is that the process at least near the end was there were collectors who took the essence from the runners to Larryr who'd give them a "restock" of supplies ever 10 or so collections. They'd be paid hourly, same as security, managers, and trainers. The collectors handled transactions with the runners to make the operation smooth. I can't recall exactly what it was but by the end Larryr was actually running this at a loss (even though it never really turned amazing profit). I think the nature rune price dropped maybe?
Will, this is such a nostalgic throwback..i remember mining coal, and fishing, and killing goblins, security stronghold release..but THIS I HAD COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN ABOUT!! I used to run essence to the nature and law rune altars back in the days..an era i had completely lost until this video. THANK YOU.
I remember this. I was about 6 years old at the time and I kept getting asked all the time to run stuff. I turned it down because it was confusing for my young mind plus I hated magic so I didn’t see it a benefit lol I regret everything 😅
This brings back so much nostalgic memories! This was one of my 1st main money making methods in RuneScape! It also instilled the Partyhat's as an item of wealth and respect in my early memories for the 1st time as within the RC runner community itself. This was also done with law runes by Larryr for quite some time and I also remember when Zezima hired runners during his XP grinds at the nature altar. From the trade windows, player roles and outfits all the way to the Hiscores race - this video really did justice to this historical memory! I had no clue by the "Largest Cartel" what this video would be about until I saw the thumbnail of Larryr's signature outfit! - Well done Will :D
I was part of this; I was first recruited as a runner - and I thought this was a decent way to make cash. I told all my friends about this, and they too were recruited. Though, my time was short-lived as making 100K per hour running back and forth quickly grew boring. There was so much more to Runescape that I wanted to do! I eventually got kicked from the organisation for growing impatient, and cutting in line. I never got back in. It's amazing how well ordered the organisation was. Strict, to the point and it ran smoothly. Cheers to Runescape!!!
@@A_Black_Sheep94 I will say, that this was likely targeted to low-level players, and in that sense, a great service. I agree - others benefitted from them, but they were certainly in a position of power, experience and levels - that these low-level players did not have. There was nothing forcing these low level players from participating too.
This was very interesting! I can't believe Jagex named THE npc that sells you the RC cape by her.. that's insane. Thank you for sharing this story! Subbed
On god these billionaires could be making generational wealth not just for them self’s but everyone. Imagine Mark and RuneScape team up to create a way to make money in game to transition it into some sort of thing you can sell after a certain period of time for real life cash.
Wow, playing the game all those years ago but now with a mature view that was prodigy level on her behalf. Even the thread salesletter, flawless! I wonder what she is up to these days, Kudos Larryr!
I ran nasty natures back in 05-06, those were some amazing times when anything was possible. I had seen a pizza delivery service being ran on the forums and they would deliver even into deep wildy lol xDDD
Dude I used to run for larryr for all my cash when i was a kid. My friend's mom who played the game introduced me to the team and I had a nice bank for a kid playing runescape in 5th and 6th grade. Cant believe you made this video lol brought me back
I just got back in to Runescape a few months ago for the first time since middle school. Runescape really is something else the things and schemes people come up with to make money is always fascinating
@@EldestZelot Incels and simps have nothing in common except their virginity and lack of ability to get attraction from women. They are total opposites on the spectrum. Simps put women on pedestals, incels hate women.
I did some law running back then as a runner, it was very packed... there are a few vids on youtube of them time of hundreds of people walking back and forth between draynor and entrana to unnote
Love your content. One of the first things i did when i first became a Runescape member, was completing quests and roaming the map, a lvl 57 froob, clueless on what to do. Ended up going back to edgeville and meeting some guy going to karamja to earn cash, guess what, it was a nat runner, and i did the same. Earned my first 1m nat running for larryr back in 2005. My first infinity boots bought with money earned that way (inifnity boots and hat was a dream coming true back then) This video brings back vivid memories, it is like im playing again back in 2005 and reviving the moment again as it was back then.
I never trained runecrafting but I remember in 2005 trying out the nature rune for ess at brimhaven technique to see how it was. Did 1000 nature runes and never really went on further but this brings back a lot of memories of prime runescape.
there should be a same story about a guy with law runes. because i used to do runs for him. When he logged on there was a big queue to go to the law altar just like with Larryr
That's what I remember, his name was like Exodus or something, he gave 25 noted essence and 25 law runes for 25 unnoted essence. Made my first 1m running for him, along with hundreds of others haha.
Yoooo You brought up old memories! I completely forgot I was a Law Rune crafter at one point in RS lmao. It was awesome xp, just standing there saying "open" trade and repeat while people ran ess for you. Thanks for the memories!
I remember these days vaguely, did a few runs for them myself. I believe my dad did as well, we both went hard into runecrafting but we were nothing compared to these fellas.
I just have to say, the comments and nostalgia everyone is sharing is absolutely lovely to read. So many people sharing an experience from their childhoods, reuniting here, wow. I love the effect RS has on people. I didn't do any of this running stuff, I wasnt too social of a player on RS. Sadly gave my password away to a friend stupidly, and that was the end of that. Love to hear all the stories though, living viariously through you all
I have no idea what this all means, but this is like Eve Online content and your editing is fantastic. The notion of an in-game Runescape cartel is hilarious
I was a runner for a short while. I can't remember much about it specifically but I seem to recall Larryr had a special thank you message after each trade. Also made laws for TLCC the law crafting co. on W66 which used a similar system based on this model.
I used to play RuneScape in 2008 now that I’m an adult and could finally afford my first PC I’m back on RuneScape but I’m so behind on everything obviously so this channel is so amazing
Mentioning him in relation to a video I'm doing in a couple weeks. The video isn't about him, but his effect on RS is used as a representation of that era.. :-)
Truly the golden age of RuneScape and the internet in general. I do not recall running for Larryr, but at some point I ran nats for The Old Nite and laws for Uloveme. This video is pure nostalgia.
Great video, very interesting story! Also I actually love your ad runs, verycreative and funny, usually I skip ad reads but when creators put this much effort into em I can't help but watch
I used to run for a player named Diego Sage, i would keep the karamja general store stocked with ess for all the running so you'd never have to worry about someone snagging your ess and she would pay me double for each run. Such fond memories, rs is truly the best!
I was part of the management team, and dealt with a lot of the security issues. Specific runners were not "banned" or "hired" as anyone could just show up and run for us. Players that were "banned" were players that would steal essence from the shop where our runners would sell the essence then buy it back. It just meant that if they appeared, we found a new world to craft on. Overall a decent video, but some big inaccuracies and suggestions, including that it was a cartel. Larryr's leaving also had a lot more to it than just to play Everquest II with her son, although that was a portion of it.
Thanks for reaching out! The video research is based on MrsChrystlers accounts of what happened, who was in direct contact with Larryr. I get the impression there is some language barrier there, which could explain some of the things you disagree with in the video. I'd love to hear whatever you have to share about it all
@@rswillmissit Interesting! It's been a while since I've spoken to Mrs C, I'll have to reach out to her and see if I'm forgetting something. Which is possible cause that was... well a long time ago.. haha. Either way, we had good times! thank you for the reminder :)
@@zalz hmm, if you're talking in 2007, probably not. I was active with the business between sometime in 2004 until when Larryr stopped playing in 2006. At which point I was spending more time in the pvp scene and spent my free time pking or warring.
I wasn't a runner for Larryr but this eventually spread across runescape to the point where there would be two worlds where you could do this same thing but without a 'contract' and would just trade ess for free laws at the law altar. I made a video about this as my very first youtube video on an old account.
Oh wow, this takes me back! I used to play as odm666 and work with Larryr's business. I think it might actually be me at 09:17 in the Rune armour with the Dragon Battleaxe. The name Dakmor Shade there also sounds very familiar... Being a runner was actually pretty decent money. I always tried to vary the routes a bit to keep it exciting, but I do remember using the Gnome Glider a lot to get back to Karamja. I progressed a bit up the chain, though not sure for how long. Was there also a role of collector who did the exchanges outside and were the only ones allowed inside the altar? Having it be a bit like family sounds very familiar to me. It was a nice bunch of people to play with. I was still a stupid kid at the time, and it gave you people to talk to and play with. Runescape often brought friends just by doing something together and sharing the experience. This was one of the ways it accomplished that for me, and I look back fondly at that time and at the game. Also Castle Wars, Clue scrolls, my first venture into Tirannwn... Such a long and fun time it was! I tried OSRS a while ago, but it lost some magic and it's not quite the same starting over. Feels like the world has moved on from these kinds of games.
Haha I also thought I might be the fellow in rune with the battle-axe. But then realized I probably hadn't done heroes quest yet and was actually the guy with the longsword (this was of course before the famed dragon scimitar). But osrs isn't bad btw. It's a little different and nothing can match the feeling of being 10 years old in such an unknown world. In osrs there are established metas and the community is much smarter than it used to be. This means things like Larryr's business really dont happen anymore. But there is still a great magic to behold and I recommend you give it another shot. Try Ironman mode or group Ironman if you've got some buddies who want to revisit to game. You won't be disappointed!
I can remember being part of the hierarchy for the Yanille Fletching guild in 2004-2005 I wish I could find out more about how this started I can remember that the casual spot for buying supplies was in camelot but people would flock into us and we would have so much respect that we could swap the bows for unstrung bows and bowstrings with cash minus 20% giving us faster xp and proffits, we also got fixed sell prices for pures wishing to alch and built up a community
I wasn't part of that community, but I did find alchers that would swap completed bows for supplies, sure sped up fletching levels, but didn't build your wealth.
Saw this LarryR docu and had to comment. 12yr old me and a couple friends used to buy their sold noted ess runners were buying back at the general store closest to the nature altar. Bad idea to piss that “cartel” of LarryR and her bouncers off. The adults harassed us for days even managing to steal 2 of our accounts holding them ransom to force us to stop buying the ess messing up the runners. Was wondering if anyone else ever ran Into these guys bad side my whole life… Great vid lots of nostalgia, good and bad memories rushing back.
Hey man, if you keep editing your ads this way, I will keep watching them. Putting effort like this makes most of us not skip them. I think you would have a lot of luck with Shorts with your editing skills, give it a shot for us?
Thanks for the compliments! Prior to creating these documentaries, I used to be a machinima maker. This channel has over 160 shorts, skits and movies of both RS3 and OSRS :-)
That's Great! I really enjoyed seeing her on the Hiscores with a HUGE Exp Lead! That was Great that she did that. Keep up the Great & Awesome videos Will! :) p.s. I think that PM at 12:54 was from ME!?
I was never around for Runescape's hayday and when I tried playing it for the first time recently, I just didn't enjoy it, but these stories are so interesting. It's crazy to see the types of things that went down back then. I mean, running a business like this? I can't think of another game where something of that magnitude has happened, not even other huge MMOs. The game may not be my style, but the lore behind it is something magnificent. It's a shame, really. These ridiculous stories sound like so much fun, but the rest of the gameplay just didn't keep my interest. That and, well, I don't think things like this still happen much in Runescape anymore but what do I know.
My brother and I were recruited to do this one summer by Quangzhua. It was good money for us at the time. I saw Larryr just twice during that time, and still have the screenshots. While I worked a player named Adnila was often in charge outside the altar. Very cool to have been a part of it. I understood how impressive it was at the time.
This might sound like rose tinted glasses but I swear the internet back then was so much better than the internet in the last 12 years. Online gaming just doesn't feel the same, back then toxic players were rare but now it seems the norm. :/
When I was playing around this time, me an two other friends did the exact same thing, but it was just him, his sister and myself. Still made good gp. Shout out to them both, Dark Bulwark and Havasac. Nightrider28 says hello wherever you both are in life!
This was a really cool vid, I'm surprised I never heard of this. Also really petty that she banned players who ran for others even though she had a huge lead on the hiscores.
I played RS back in 2004-2007 and vividly remember trying out being a nat runner for a brief time before realising how tedious and relatively slow money making it was.
my older brother knew her in game and became a manger pretty quick while the group was starting up, he left only 4 months in but made around 500m gp for the time he was with them
I dont even remember what year it was but I remember running essence to the nature rune altar. You would sell noted essence to the karamja shop, buy it and run to the nature rune altar to trade a guy the essence and he would give you nature runes in return. My brother and I did this one day, and we also did it with the law rune altar on Entrana, I forget how we got the runes but it was the same concept. Trade a guy essence and he makes runes for you, of course he would keep some of the runes he gave so he would profit both money and get insane exp.
I was runnin for Larryr for months. That's not how it worked.... Everyone was inside the altar spamtrading and the kasramja shop was filled with essence by Larryrs team :S
@@zalz Maybe waaay back but when She was going for 200M there was no line. It was just head in and spamtrade her and she just clicked her chatbox so sometimes you had to stand there and spamtrade for 2 minutes before you got lucky. And you couldn't trade to fast as if you traded when she accepted yeah bad luck try again. All up to luck by then it was like 20-50ppl trading constantly. When succeeded to open a trade You gave 26 ess and Larryr gave you 26 nats (or was it double? dont remember) and the cash for buying 26 ess from the Karamja shop whatever they was at the shop it was like 20k in there all the time so i guess 1-5gp ea.
@@Charkel things must of changed because i was given like ess in return and 10k to give to the runners per run, it was a simple setup for us at the time. i wasnt there during crazy crazy nights with long lines but I did deal with alot of security issues. people buying other peoples essence in the store or having to hop worlds

14:26 "We are role models encouraging a good team spirit, high standards, and an honorable code of ethics throughout all aspects of life." By enacting a no-compete clause to your employees, ensuring the competition couldn't ever grow to ever be a threat to your business. Yeah, sounds just like a two-face corporate organization if I've ever heard one lol not saying it wasn't a smart thing to do, but let's lose the altruistic shtick and be honest about what it is you're doing.
My buddy did law runes for like a few weeks to get 99. Apparently law runes was the Larryr business as well according to some of the comments and I was incredibly shocked when he got it so quickly, meanwhile I broke maybe 40 in that same time period. I didn't know how he was doing it but this video made me realize he was probably involved with this whole thing. He showed me his party hat one day too...I wonder if he was in that upper echelon...he did runecrafting for months before moving on to other member skills
I remember when the exp sharing thing came out and people would take your essence, make the x2 nats and trade them back to you. They get the exp and you get the nats. Much better profit for the runner that way. It’s how I finally could afford to get my magic to 94 for barrage. Shits still at 94 to this day 😂
Fast free double natures. You’d run to nature alter, trade rune crafters pure essences and they’re give you 54 nats. No RC level required for free double nats (92RC required for 2x nats). My brother was a crafter for them for a long time. Back when RC was an actual grind. now the rune crafting guild offers 10x faster cap methods than before
I also remember doing nature runs, I think it was in 2006-2007. I was about 12 years old. I dont remember Larryr but there were multiple players trading their natures for essence. All quite rich wearing party hats or other expensive gear. We did this with a few friends and after a while we bought our first santa hat in 07, buying more rares and merching stuff after. I still own my account and its total wealth is around 24bill. We split everything we made in a group of 4 friends, so that would be close to 100b in wealth today. We all quit when we couldn't trade anymore . I dont know the other guys anymore but these rares sitting in my bank have made me wealthy without effort. Lots of bills sitting on dormant accounts.

Much respect to Larryr for scraping the skies of the rc hi scores list and much respect to you for enshrining this period of runescape history.
too cool! larryr had a rule where u cant run for anyone else if you ran for her
this was a nice, hope rswilllmissit can pin :D
I remember this
I remember you much better than Larryr. :)
i like how this is a reunion for many
I was a runner for Larryr. Great video!
man I miss the days of rushing home from school so I could start running and stack up some gp. The community really was something else back then.
@@chillbill23 for sure. It was much more of a wild west back then too so finding a large group of somewhat level headed individuals was pretty rare

@@CottidaeSEA Same. I ended up becoming a trainer at one point for Larryr. Almost a manager. I still have Adnila added on my friends list lol
I can proudly say that I was a runner way way back then. Got a little teary-eyed watching this and remembering the times when life was simple..
Larryr is my mom. I think she'd love to see all the fond nostalgia. I'll be sharing this with her, thanks for sharing her story!
Ps: she totally stalked me to EQ2, I didn't ask her to join me, lol. There was a family tragedy and she wanted to be closer to me. It was me that couldn't say no to that. ;)
But fwiw, her work ethic didn't drop with the new game. She wound up with Max level toons in every class in EQ2 as she multi-boxxed 6 accounts at once so she could group with herself. Even joining raid guilds, eventually.
She's since retired from gaming, taking up painting, and traveling in an RV to various places she wants to paint.
@@yabo1 Glad to hear y'all are doing well. Thanks for sharing!

You make the absolute best RS content. The quality of your documentaries are what you might see in traditional media.
I miss when I found RuneScape back in 5th when my brother made my account. So many memories, OSRS doesn’t bring that nostalgia back and nothing can.
@Lets Play Minecraft They made the game better by adding both of those though.
Thanks for the lovely comment! Glad you had that nostalgia trip
I agree. It's cliché, but that era really was a golden time. Being a player who could even craft nature runes let alone double would of been seen as a major achievement, certainly in my eyes back then!
it absolutly blows my mind why these people just dont REMAKE the fuggin game with out the fortnite killswitch
It never said 1m online.
max was 330k
Yeah, I've been playing since at least 2006, there was never a single moment where the game had 1m players. Don't chat shit
Think the only correction I would make is that skill capes weren't released till much later on like 2006, right before hunter was released. Overall great entertaining video :3
ahhh I remember doing these runs for hours! Good ole rs dayz
Legend has it some of those nature runes are still in RuneScape being used to this very day.
I think that they even got a cosmetic upgrade in there somewhere
The wholesomeness of this story gets me a little teary 🥲 ngl
I don’t think many realise how incredible it is what they achieved
notice the same, crazy right
I think I may of been the player in the red robes with the dmed!
So many hour spent running when I first started playing, I'm glad I actually know the full story behind all of this.
Her speech sounded so much like a cult

How else would you get children to work for you?
- Well done Will :D
larry actually had a d chain that the team bought for her! in my eyes thats the signature outfit I always seen
Exactly it was a huge waste of time for runners who were making next to no money while the others were benefitting off them.
@@A_Black_Sheep94 I will say, that this was likely targeted to low-level players, and in that sense, a great service.
I agree - others benefitted from them, but they were certainly in a position of power, experience and levels - that these low-level players did not have. There was nothing forcing these low level players from participating too.

I can remember being part of the hierarchy for the Yanille Fletching guild in 2004-2005 I wish I could find out more about how this started
I can remember that the casual spot for buying supplies was in camelot but people would flock into us and we would have so much respect that we could swap the bows for unstrung bows and bowstrings with cash minus 20% giving us faster xp and proffits, we also got fixed sell prices for pures wishing to alch and built up a community
I wasn't part of that community, but I did find alchers that would swap completed bows for supplies, sure sped up fletching levels, but didn't build your wealth.
Really nice video, nostalgia overload. Great job. ❤️🙏
Saw this LarryR docu and had to comment. 12yr old me and a couple friends used to buy their sold noted ess runners were buying back at the general store closest to the nature altar. Bad idea to piss that “cartel” of LarryR and her bouncers off.
I blame MW2 lobbies

@Gaming Legend69 player Mods can't ban on the fly.
You ever met a dude that petty?
@Gaming Legend69 But what's the ratio?
I played RS back in 2004-2007 and vividly remember trying out being a nat runner for a brief time before realising how tedious and relatively slow money making it was.
4:29, “Trade quickly if you’re too slow you won’t get a second chance. Then repeat”. If you repeat then you do get a second chance.
Not if you're too slow, then you don't get to repeat
I miss this sooo much 🥺 All I do these days is watch what rs used to be.. I don't even play anymore
my older brother knew her in game and became a manger pretty quick while the group was starting up, he left only 4 months in but made around 500m gp for the time he was with them
These episodes are simply epic!
Everyone was inside the altar spamtrading and the kasramja shop was filled with essence by Larryrs team :S
well the collectors inside the altar also stood in line until it was our turn for larryr to trade us.
@@Charkel and i could of sworn larry went for 200m xp because i was there during an event like that and in this video it claims she never did. so i got confused on that situation
I actually played back in the days of Zezima and even played with him a few times when I’d see him pop online.
I miss when descriptions weren't just another god damn nord ad...
Business is business I guess :P There's a proper description of the video below it, if you click on the "Show more" button. :-)
Damn lmao sorry somehow I missed the show more button I see it now 😅 I thought the description was just nord my bad
This is amazing! A flood of memories just came rushing back!
I remember being a paid runner for nature runes(not sure who was the boss haha), i remember getting noted ess & gp running to the general store in Brimhaven selling noted ess and then buying them back unnoted, run back to altar wait my turn and then repeat.
I also remember doing this for law runes on entrana and heading my ess off to a a guy dressed in monk outfits and back to draynor bank
good times
most likely larryr if it was around 05/06
14:26 "We are role models encouraging a good team spirit, high standards, and an honorable code of ethics throughout all aspects of life."
By enacting a no-compete clause to your employees, ensuring the competition couldn't ever grow to ever be a threat to your business. Yeah, sounds just like a two-face corporate organization if I've ever heard one lol not saying it wasn't a smart thing to do, but let's lose the altruistic shtick and be honest about what it is you're doing.
This is so crazy because I didn't know this was about larryr but I actually worked for them doing nature rune runs back in the day.
Yea my bank is 100trill now too kekw
lmao this is done like a crime documentary. Modern OSRS creators are getting really good, I love it.
The CC at 6:46 gave me a good chuckle, "no shortage of willing simps." Glad you snuck that one in there lol
